  1. Mk3 Golf or Jetta. Even a B4 or 5 Passat would fill the bill. For 3K you can find an excellent one. Easy to work on, and not any different and Japanese make for maintenance costs, and cheaper than most. Awesome gas mileage, and love to be lowered. You can find beat ones as well as well maintained ones.
  2. I just really respect both styles..My 95 VR6 GTI was OEM just lowered on Suspension and Been Rebuilt with Cat Cams, and Polished intake....Then i got the rabbit and had the urge for a Rat style Dub..and My MK3 a sort of mix..... Now i have another Mk3 Jetta and am planning on lowering it, put a nice exhaust on it, Techtonic Tuning mild cam, and intake and maybe GLX interior and leave it pretty OEM..... I like and appreiciate any car...heck i've had a hand full...i like how you understand both styles... and apprecieate the work done to the car...thanks man :)

oh yea this is random...lol but do you know anyone who has a 4k trans or 020 DFQ...i need one for my other mk3...since your have had a few Dubs figures you'd know or have some parts laying around :)

    I may have a DFQ.

  3. Thank you for your small business support. Its not easy, as I have a similar thread going right now.

    +1,

Trying to run a business/start up is a PITA. Especially when there is a lot of work, but not enough to do it full time. And everyone wants something.

  4. There are two distinct fashions for VW owners to follow. The first I'll call glammed out. A style not too far off from the OP. While there are a lot of VW's like that out there, they are not the majority. At least I don't think. It's like everything else in the world. It's wild or stands out from the crowd so it gets more attention. The up side to that is the owner gets lots of exposure. The down side is the owner and car get a lot of exposure and so everyone thinks that is how that whole scene is.

The other side are those that refuse to Rust a hood, cover in stickers, they keep it clean. Or referred to as OEM+. Their cars will have a bunch of little things done, and if you don't know what you're looking for/at you won't catch it. It's a beautiful thing.

I've got respect for guys on both sides of the fence. It took forever to get used to stretch and poke. But after 6 years of looking at it on Vortex, I see a set of stretched tires on my GTI. Oh the horror!!!!!

With exception to a few if you're driving a VW it's not about going fast. They are competent cars on a Road Course or Auto-X, they are not normally used for drag racing. I've done it, and it's a pain. While I am a loyalist, I am really fighting the urge to build another V8.

I should probably go work on WTF, or Powdercoat something....
