yep. You won't have to compound it. Just use the ultimate polish. It will turn out like a mirror.
Ill do the sanding and get it to the point of it being buffed if you want, or I could just bring the car and we could do the whole thing there, but then again I got no clue what your schedule is, and i dont want to be taking up a bunch of time your etc.)

Sounds great, but im going to have to swing by your house to polish it, i only have a 7" and theres no way.

Here's the thread I mentioned to you on the phone.
http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/how-articles/43535-key-repair-step-step-procedure.html
When sanding you should end up with something like this.
http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t12/rhowitt/Detailing%20shots/DSC_0014-1.jpg
from there, it's just a matter of polishing it. you'll LOL as once we do that you'll want to grab a beer and a buffer and finish the rest of your car
So thats what it looks like after the wetsanding before the compound buffing and polish buffing?

1500 and 2500 wet sanding it.
What touch up paint did you use? Does it have clear in it? Make sure if you need to add more you wait at least 8hrs preference overnight for it to dry before you sand it again.
If you're using paper, wrap it in a small thin sponge. Helps match the contours and avoids harsh spots. I usually use the sponge version of those grits although either way works.
I did 6 layers of touch up paint with the brush (It has clear on the other side with a brush), then i was gonna sand it down smooth and whatnot, then clear, buff etc. I just dont know the correct order.....
I mean as in i dont know when to sand, when to wetsand etc. I figured 800 pad to knock it out, 1500 (Not sure if wet or dry) to get it mostly smooth, then remove about 1 inch of tape around it and do that with the 2500 (Wet or Not, im not sure), then buff the crap out of it.
-
Hit it with 1500 until it's smooth and level. Then move the tape out about 1/2" and hit the area with 2500 until it's blended. Go slow and keep an eye on the scratch. Ideally you want it to be dull/scuffed looking but smoooooth.
If you want to swing by my place on Wednesday after work we can sand and buff it back. I have some compound that will do a beautiful job on that. Just text me.

Should i use the 800 sotch pad to level it out, or just the 1500 then 2500. And dry sand or wet sand?
EDIT: If i came by your work, will this be a after hours thing or will it cost? Also whens a good time to call and talk to you about this?

Body guys I have some questions, im trying to fix a scratch on the cheap.
These are all the stages ive done 1-14 right now. I dug the scratched part out so it was flat, used the color matched pen brush and kept going layer over layer to make sure the paint on that area was higher than the rest of the vehicle, then i was going to scotch pad the high spots, and sand it and stuff, then polish.
Main questions.... I have the 800 grit pads, that meguairs stuff (But there one another one at store the guy said might work better, but i already had this), 1500 and 2500 grits.
What steps should I do, take, etc, to make this look at good as possible.

I wanted to get these seats for my camaro, because they were good priced, looked good, and are WAY better than factory 4th gen seats.
I wanted to use this seat because i like the pattern on it more
http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS-Performance-Products/555/70240/10002/-1?parentProductId=#moreDetails
and I was curous as to see if these mounts would allow me to put that seat in my Camaro.
http://www.jegs.com/i/Scat/942/81000/10002/-1
If not, theres always this (Which is a different seat but the same bracket kit)
http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS-Performance-Products/555/702100K/10002/-1?parentProductId=#moreDetails
And I dont like that seat near as much, and thats why i was wondering if i got the first seat (The challenger seat), would i be able to use that universal mounting setup to get it to work in my 2000 Camaro?
What have you guys done for seats and mind posting any pictures? Im fine with losing power everything, but i NEED to be able to slide it forward/backwords, and adjust the back height.
Also I just found summit which looks like the exact seats I want with brackets and everythings, its just a little bit more than i wanted to spend... But i may have to bite the bullet. ( http://www.summitracing.com/parts/cmb-27-0025/overview/year/2000/make/chevrolet/model/camaro )
This page on WS6 store as it has Brackets made by the Companys Seats there selling... Just again... Expensive. ( http://www.ws6project.com/user_stor/catalog/index.php?cPath=235_86_725 )

Grabbed Pennzoil Synchromesh for the T56 and Redline 75w90 for the stock 10 bolt. Thanks guys!
-
I read all kinds of things when I was thinking of filling mine with royal purple. I chose to go with the manufacturer recommendation when I read about other fluids breaking down the backing plates(?) on the gears. It's been quite a while since I researched it though.
I opted for traditional in the differential also when I read about fluid so slippery that the clutches in the posi unit would slip and burn up.
With my RPM T56 and the Moser rear end I am running fully synthetic fluids.
Yeah i was reading about that, I read that 98 cars have Auburn rear's with Clutches but 99+'s have Torsen rears that dont have that issue?
Id prefer to run Amsoil or RP or Some type of Synthetic Synchromesh if people are running it with no issues.
-
Im reading in my owners manual for my 2000 Camaro SS that it says to use DEXROX III ATF, but i read online people are using synchromesh, and i read other people are using full synthetic, then i hear people saying some causes them issues while other people are using it... and its all getting confusing on what i should use.
Its a stock T56, and im going to be doing the rear end fluid and i was going to use Redline Syn 75w90 Gear Oil. Is that good for a stock 10 bolt?
Thanks for all the advice in advance,
Shane

As the title says! Trade, maybe some cash involved.
Let me know what you got!

First thing that came to my mind, and those didnt sell well new, but got a colt following after.
-
Whats the rear gear in it right now?
-
Congratulations! Very cool color and perfectly optioned.
I have definitely noticed the increase in Mustangs the last few years, especially since the new one came out. I have always thought of myself as a person who would never even consider a Mustang, but the new ones have come so far so quickly.
Yeah Ford has been stepping there game up since the new 5.0's came out. Motor, Interior, All of it has really been stepped up alot. And with the new ones that are supposed to be a LOT better at handling. The GT350 and GT350R as an example, those things are a DAMN good mustang. Never would of thought Ford to really change the mustang up so much lately. Finally making it the car it should be.
-
Thing is BAD! What happened to the guy AJ on here that was building that sick pro-touring 1st gen camaro? I was always looking forward to that build, but I think he got off CR?
-
Very nice! So its like a base 5.0 as possible with a manual? Thats awesome! Do you still have the ST? Surprised you didnt hold onto the ST until the RS's came out, or were you tired of them? Im really lookin forward to the RS's. AWD Turbo making 300's seems bad! Unless you wanted a RWD car or a Mustang over a Focus RS.
-
I'm not quite ready to take a plunge like that.
You work is definitely good enough! Thats for sure!
-
Amazing man, just amazing.

Was watching this live the other day, big ups to chief for winning that cash! And that trophy was pretty sweet too lol

After talking to some people I believe it was just my old RedTop acting up, this can be deleted.

GREENFIELD – Deputy Ronnie Johnson was assaulted while attempting to arrest three people for trespassing at 8:30 p.m. Thursday, according to a press release from the Ross County Sheriff's Office.
Johnson was fishing with his girlfriend at a location along the quarry on Lost Bridge Road that is owned by the Greenfield Police Department when he observed two men and a woman at a campfire. Brothers Matthew Allen, 26, and Todd Allen, 24, were there with Kayla Lord, 19, according to the release.
Johnson told responding deputies he identified himself as a sheriff's deputy, showed his identification and advised the group that they were trespassing and they should put out their fire and leave.
According to the release, Johnson told the group if they did not leave, they would be charged with trespass. The two men began to argue with Johnson, and he told them they were under arrest.
Johnson said at that time the men charged him and began to assault him, according to the release. One of the men grabbed him from behind while the other stole a pistol Johnson was wearing and struck Johnson in the head several times with it. He was transported to Adena Medical Center in Greenfield and is recovering at home.
Deputies searched the area and found the three people.
Matthew and Todd Allen were charged with felonious assault and aggravated robbery. Lord has been charged with criminal trespass.
