We need the Hood Latch, Latch Cable, and Shifter Bushings replaced. ( The linkages under the car can wobble so it makes the shifter horrible, and the hood latch needs a new cable and has a latch on it, but it looks so beat i want to replace it.

So after the cobalt incident i got my GF a 99 civic. It needs a new hood latch and cable, and shifter bushings replaced. I can find the bushings and the cable, but i can not find the hood latch its self.

Anybody know where i can find one? Better yet any honda guys wanna do this and make some money??

Do i need to be at a notary when i buy the car, or can the seller/buyer just fill out the back and then go to a notary afterwords.

Basically do i need a notary with me/p.o. when we fill out the title??

Honestly if i could get $750 and sell it to someone whos going to part it out it'd be happy.

In order to make any kind of money on this car you would probably have to part it out then scrap the shell.

Thats kind of what im doin... Got 2 $500 offers off of either here or CL (They were texts). Gonna give it a few days then go from there.

Probably shouldn't tell people you bought a running driving car for $1500 then total it past any point of return and ask $2000 just saying you should probably leave that info out

I think he means he has it listed for sale as is on cl for $1500.

yeah... she paid $6k for it last august

Scrap was 250 best he could do was $325.

Anybody interested in it for a over scrap? Would $1,000 be asking too much to someone wanting to buy it / rip it apart / scrap it? Car was clean with title in hand (Least i believe it was a clean title)

Would like to sell as a whole as maybe $2000 to someone willing to part it out? I honestly have no clue what something like this is worth....

I can tell you right now pass door is fine, driver should be, trunk and wing is fine (wing has a little fading) everything on the rear half of the car is pretty much untouched except for by the gas cap where it scraped against a tree...

She was driving home in the fog last night and didnt see the road bend/end or something and went right off into the tree at probably 20 by the time she hit it. Im glad shes ok but apparently im back on taxi duty... We just need to find her a cheap car...

Lol rims came on the car, and yeah shes fine. I dont have the space at all to part the car out, would anybody on here be interested in buying it to part it out? Ill give you a hell of a deal! And yeah she needs a replacement vehicle ASAP and has no money right now...

Or trade this to someone + cash for a older running car? Then they can make the money parting it out??

Should I try to get rid of it as a whole, part it out, or just junk it? Again she only had liability so the MOST i can get for the car the best. Or if someone would even trade and older one for this one for the engine/etc. It was a 5 speed car... The engine still runs (engine/trans have 88k on them like the rest of the car) Feel like those should make it worth something...

Unless someone on here wants to buy it and fix it... But please CR what should i do?

Commercial accounts is what keep most parts stores alive, and there will always be people trying to get stuff ASAP. I only go for fluids and batteries because shipping those can be a pain, plus there isn't much mark up in that stuff.

Of course my lazy ass loves the internet for shopping and anything else I have the parts department at work order it through our commercial account.

This. I just started working at Napa as a parts driver and you wouldnt believe how many places were going to nonstop, several times a day. Commercial accounts are HUGE business for those parts store.

Also the thread was TL;DR , i just saw Scotts post skimming down and saw the commercial part and had to agree 100%.

Im really torn between which front end I like more...

I think i like the lights of the newer front end but in general I like your front end more. Looks more offroad/aggressive and not so bland.
