  1. The dragway 42 meet is what got me to join, I don't have anything worth racing right now, that I would take to 42 that is. Would prob most def. want to come out and watch. All I have ready to run now is my race bike, and I woun't run that at 42.
  2. Thanks everyone. Here is a vid of a 12.80 pass on my stock motor, stock turbo 89 Supra. Sorry about the poor quality, but my wife is holding our 2 year old in the other hand. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v487/rich1969/th_rods018.jpg
  3. The 87 Supra ( the red one in the pics) is a project car. I am building the motor right now. Eagle rods, probe forged pistons, head work, cams, ect. Going to put a precision gt4088 turbo on it with an old vintage HKS t-4 manifold. Got a built th350 and PI 3600 stall converter ready for it. Prob do a NX 20923-10 nitrous kit kit and maybe spray 70 My 89 is a mint condition un molested car. Perfect original interior, no rust or dents. The original turbo decided to crap itself, and dumped a bunch of journal bearing material into the oil pan, which in turn trashed the bearings. So I have the motor pulled right now for an overhaul. Will prob put a stock type rebuild on it and a precision 61 mm turbo. I already had rebuild and upgraded the auto tranny in it and re-stalled the stock converter to 3200. Ran 12.60's on the stock motor and stock turbo last year untill it crapped the turbo bearing. Ran an 11.95 with it in Texas in 07 when I was at a supra meet. Car still weighs 3750 lbs
  4. Yes, I love my hub caps.. those are "wide track" brand tires from the 80's. They only have 300 miles on them. Got them off some guys Vette he had in storage.
  5. Tried it twice at 42, but with those old vintage street tires on it I couldn't get on it much. Would just get on the converter a little bit and then walk out of the hole. Might have got my foot down around 40 or 60 feet out. Then it would break tires loose when I would shift into second. It would run a 13.2 @ 118 with that really light launch. Need some slicks and a trans brake.
  6. Thanks! I just like anything that has some character to it. Does not matter to me where it was born. I just like most things with motors whether it is a old cub cadet lawn tractor or a new concept car.
  7. Hey, Thanks Alex, your the reason I came by. So if no one likes me, they can blame you!!
  8. I guess I am another noob on Cr here. I joined because another menber here showed me a link to an outing at Dragway 42. Since that is one of my hometown area tracks, I thought I would look into it. I am always looking for organized drag race events like this. Too bad not more people go through the trouble to set up an event like this, and I have to give props to the people who set this stuff up. I have been into racing somethig since the early 80's and plan on racing untill the day I die. I have owned all sorts of cars over the years. Right now, aside from daily drivers, I have a 1987 toyota turbo supra, a 1989 toyota supra turbo, a Big Block Impala, a 66 chevy PU, and a 1996 S-2 Buell. Hope to meet some of you at a dragrace sometime. Here is a few pics of the impala, kinda a street sleeper. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v487/rich1969/forsale195.jpg 1969 396 chevy - done about everything to it. All forged inside, head work, cam, roller top end, bm 3200 stall, 4:56 rear http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v487/rich1969/forsale192.jpg pic of the Buell, only 2000 made in 1996 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v487/rich1969/forsale043-1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v487/rich1969/forsale485.jpg Ok Now flame away...
