I'm going to have to use this color thing too. I'm like what the hell's the difference - it's the same starter. At any rate, I'm doing this to give the guy options that's all. Besides, what does it matter? I used to get parts from pick-and-pulls for people's beater cars all the time - this isn't any different. And... that's still the underlying question anyways. Are there any around here? I'll find some today.
-
It's a manual 1995 2WD... and... it's red. Why the color question, just curious...
-
He texted me a 2.4L but to the best of my knowledge it's a 2.2L. Four cylinder.

I have a friend's starter that just went out on his S10 - does anyone know where there are any pick-and-pull type places where I can pick one up used for him? Don't know how much money he wants to spend but if we can find one used I don't think he would care. He beats the hell outta it anyways... Thanks all - Gabe

Well... last I heard... http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j298/gjsantos2/ricer.jpg But, they found out it couldn't handle the power in this either.
-
Whoa whoa I said it wasn't on 270 anymore I didn't say I picked it up... I got a tranny from a '69 Bronco... you can use that one... I found it connected to some guys' truck in the Walmart parking lot. Bitch to get out.
-
The tranny's no longer on 270.

I think it's bad weather Friday. I haven't met anyone yet but... it's not going to be this week if it rains... Rain... bad. Wait I just checked the weather. Maybe it will stay clear for a while?

Well... it doesn't really matter considering that there's an individual coil pack for each cylinder, and that they're interchangeable (on THIS car). I could understand if you have a distributor with wires going to each cylinder, or one centralized coil - sure, you could screw up the cylinders/order in that respect. In this case, if a coil is bad on one cylinder (doesn't matter if it's one, two, three, four, because each spark plug has its own coil), just take the coil off the cylinder that's missing, move it, and see if it misses on the cylinder you moved it to, like Rob said... At any rate, problem solved. Thanks for the advice, all, I'm done here. Glad, once again, that it was a coil and not a pressure problem, etc... Gabe

She doesn't want one. She named her car, and it's VERY personal to her, haha, so I'm happy :-) I have what I want, she has what she wants... And... what do you mean wrong order (Steven)?... Gabe

Me too - your mind starts wandering... if it's not plugs or coil then... ?? CRAP.

+1 Shelby GT500!!

Thanks Rob - I did pull the code and it was misfiring on 2. Switched the coil out with another, erased the code, and then drove around waiting for the CEL to come back on. It did, and sure as shit, misfire on 3. Switched out the 3 cylinder coil and it's back to new! I'm glad this wasn't something major :-)

The wifey's car is misfiring definitely. When it idles you can tell that there is one cylinder not in tune with everything... You can smell gas, so it's definitely running rich. I would say that one cylinder isn't getting spark. I've pulled and replaced the spark plugs, and no change. There are no spark plug wires; the coil packs are attached on top of the spark plugs. The connections are all clean. The wife said that there wasn't a noticeable change when she was driving (like a clunk, or something), and that it just started to run funny. I'm going to AutoZone to have the CEL code pulled, and I'll post what it says within the hour. Anyone have any advice? 2001 Nissan Sentra SE 1.8L. Thanks, Gabe

Heyy I seen a tranny chill'n on the side of 270... You drop that scream'n down the freeway!? Just let me know... I can probably... go back, you know and... pick it up for you? Seriously, good luck with the tranny. How many you been through? - Gabe

No kidding, much obliged! I guess they don't call them the "Columbus Revenue Collectors" for nothing eh? Oh well. I don't expect law enforcement to understand why I wouldn't want to drill into a Shelby, it's not their job. There job was to give me a ticket. They did. I love it. LOVE IT!!

That was you... the was you in the article?
-
Well generally they don't hang out on the northeast side of the 270 in between Westerville Rd and 23 but... one got me while I was in the number two lane right at Cleveland going west. He was sitting on the other side of the barrier on the on-ramp for Cleveland west... Apparently he was looking for front license plates. I don't have one. Or maybe he's telling everyone a tall tale about how "he pulled over a Shelby GT500." Either way, be wise to do the front license plate thing if you are worried about it. I had no idea it was a $110 ticket...

OSP is renowned for being strict. Anyone read the newspaper article in the Sunday paper a few weeks ago ("How Fast is Too Fast")? Apparently they write more tickets for the 80+ mph speed than any other...

Personally I would choose the Fox too - it looks clean. How is it? There are too many of the '94 style Mustangs around. Fox body's are definitely more fun if you can find a nice one. There's something about that 302... Fox.

I know Amelia used to dance there too - not sure how acquainted you are with the dancers. I don't know to many people anymore at BalletMet. I remember the wifey complaining about "Miss Yo" all the time, I don't know if you get any of that. Quite frankly the complaining pisses me off half the time, but ballet ain't no shit man, they get WORKED. There was a gal that used to work in the office there, her name was Terry something-or-other - do you know her? I don't know if she even works there. If you date a dancer or you're married to one, you know the definition of "politics" and "I'm 5'2" 100 pounds in stunning shape but I still feel fat at the end of the day" lol.
-
Granted. I'm complaining because I don't understand why minor turn of events seem to dictate the rise and fall of gas prices, not because of the car I drive. I don't drive the Shelby every day. I have a Toyota dd and I still get pissed off every time I drive past the pump. I would be aggravated if I took a freegan moped to work. But I can see the irony.
-
Someone told me that their Grandmother did that because it slowed other people down. Granted yes, if pisses you off... The answer to your question... is some people? just get their license to piss other people off.
-
My wife is Gabrielle Barton - she used to dance with BalletMet when we were first here, before we moved to Nebraska. Now that we're back she's dancing with Columbus Theatre. They're doing an addition in this opera coming up (not this weekend but the next). Interesting "field" I agree - good looking girls. ANYHOW, who is your gf? You come to find that everyone knows everyone in the ballet community almost.

Fuel pump - awesome. I know it might not be significant now, but did you ever check the compression?
