  1. BTDT. NM title, in 3rd person's name, signed and notarized into 2nd person whom I bought from, with bill of sale and title in hand. When I did this 10 years ago, I had to send a registered letter to the current address of current title holder (run a title search? if you don't have his address) offering to give him possession of his (titled in his name still) vehicle if he pays me transportation, etc for me to let it go. THEN after no response for something like 6 months? I forget, you can go before a judge that decides to grant you a title, or not. It's a bit of work, and you still may not end up with a title. Much easier to have a friend in a lenient state like Michigan get a title for you then transfer it to you to get an Ohio title. Or, if you have a friend that owns a shop have them put a mechanic's lien on it and acquire through their channels. It's been a long time so I may not be remembering 100% but Ohio is a mega-douche for titling cars and bikes.
  2. I wouldn't let a slightly bowed wall turn me away if the house was what I wanted in the area I wanted. It takes quite a bit of deflection to really cause issues, and easy to keep an eye on it over time and see if it's getting worse or not. You can spend $5k-$10k reinforcing a bowed wall and have it guaranteed for life, easy long-term solution. I had a place with 2 steel i-beams that were 40 years old and totally fine, and another one with the carbon fiber strips that held up fine and was cool to look at. It's a seller's market, good luck bargaining for something like that
  3. lez doeet make sure when you register you add a note for double-secret g14 classified advanced run group
  4. I'd go if it was like the motorcycle show and you could ride all kinds of shit for free cbus car show LOL no thanks keep your automatic v6 camaro vert and ford fusion LOL :lolguy: :dumb:
  5. Good to know. Pretty competitive prices on tire changing equipment too
  6. Fakken game genie LOL Enter track- "circleville raceway park" Enter driver- "randy fuckin pobst" Press "GO" for trophies NEATO! Until run 4 when you can't launch anymore because the game genie only gibs ya 3 wishes and ya gotta take a couple cool-down miles to get the launch back
  7. Shit, I think my rear brakes meltsploded trying to control all dem torx as I tried to fast. Damnit, I shoulda got a real LSD like those racers told me.
  8. You have a quarter mile driveway? Really? Damn. Realistically, you can likely do anything you'll need to with ANY car that can pull a small utility trailer, and NOT have to pay extra insurance, maintenance, storage, and all that bullshit for another vehicle. 5 acres is easy. Shit, a quad would be more than you need
  9. Why wait? Depreciation? Why get a GS if you don't plan on racing or tracking? Just for the hard-parking points? You'll pay a lot more for extra complexity you won't use, and get a car that is LESS useful on the street.
  10. Looks boring. I bet you could just put your right foot down, hold a camera really steady, probably check your facebook, AND tap your left foot with the music ALL AT THE SAME TIME! Actually, maybe that IS more fun than driving? Nah, I rode a CVT scooter once, was basically the best. No shifting at all!
  11. I hear people that drive slow but pretend to be fast are loving the new teslas! You can totally drive slower than the cars behind want you to, but then when they attempt to pass you can shut em down with your super-efficient responsibly-sourced renewable socially-conscious torx! And you can tell all your car-guy friends it's better than a manual because your left foot can fall asleep and you don't scuff your designer shoes trying to work the release pedal or whatever that one one the end was in that one car. Not to mention, with your shifting hand free you can hold your latte, giving you more time to appreciate the 100% post-consumer content cup!
  12. I've made this call multiple times now. Get the smallest sportiest car that checks the most of your boxes to drive 98% of the time, and a beater truck for the couple of times you need to move a mower/parts/tow something/haul wood/etc. Don't corner yourself into a full-time barge so you can brag about "yeah but I have a xxx at home and let me tell you!" those are the marks of a poser. Bonus points if you get a fun car you can drive year around, since it IS shitty 6 months of the year here. Enjoy your automatic wannabe rental car sedan and your new brodozer.
  13. Almos forgot, my cousin's mechanic's 10-second civic crew chief knows a guy that ONLY has Right-wheel-drive manuals, and his wife even drives only manuals! You guiz probably know him, I should tell him about the site.
  14. V8 manual sedan? You're pretty much stuck with m3. But not a new one, because they traded glorious v8 braps for efficient flatulent super-torx tubo-6. Sweet motor bruh, got the same one in my $5k 335! I recommend one of those new manuals. I put in the D and let it do its thing, but then flop to manual for when I'm RACING so I can bang it off the limiter and everyone can hear the exhaust pop. Best of both worlds :gabe: :gabe: :gabe: PLUS motortrend says it's .2 seconds faster from 0-60 on a prepped dragstrip after you put the traction control in R and the throttle in R2 and then hold the brake and both paddles then step on the gas for more than 1 but less than 4 seconds then let off the brake. WHOA! Can't wait to show the guys at cars & coffee that trick! :gabe:
  15. Damn man, I can't even imagine. Once you're burdened with hauling that many people, the choices are slim. Good luck.

    Renewable Energy

I know someone that put in a 9.9kw solar system ($30k), and got a new high-efficiency variable something pump geothermal system ($6k upgrade). In a shitty 1960s house they always generate more than they use, but the electric company doesn't pay jackshit for power sent back to the grid.
  17. That looks absolutely terrible. Like a container ship and an odyssey had some kind of paris-hilton child but with weird retro 80s blade wheels. Definitely not my taste. Hope it doesn't drive like a 5000lb mushy pile of truckfail and depreciate $10k/year. Glad you like it. What made you want one of these over a station wagon or 4-door sedan for hauling kids? edit: Oh nevermind I just remembered nobody makes a cool fast manual wagon with 3rd row seating anymore
  18. Good for you if you're happier. At least someone else is hopefully enjoying driving the mustang, shifting gears, involving themselves in their drive. Automatic, heavy, boat sedan on narrow tires? Ewwww. It's like you went to rent a car and said "at least this one has a v8... I guess"
  19. Funny, I'm in City of Columbus and neighbors everywhere have trailers parked in their yard, in their driveway, on the street, everywhere. RVs, utility trailers, boats...
  20. I know you're lying because hondas run forever with no maintenance and win trophies Are you going to have the e36 competing this year? Interested in more details, looks like e36 are very popular in chump
  21. Craig it sounds like you have some good experience here so don't bullshit me- how much of the field is really just "having fun" vs guys that are cheating and over-building to win? Is it a poor-man's race for mid-pack, where the top 25% of cars are way out ahead, or is it just a couple offending teams, or ?
  22. What are the big costs besides the cage? seats/harnesses? I can't really remember but last we worked out rough-numbers it was $12k-$15k depending on how much of the cage, weld, and prep work we had to hire out to get an e36 (easy mode) ready to go. It's been awhile, can't remember much more. 2 seasons out of a set of rs3s? Wait, I thought chump was like 8-hour enduros? Are they doing shorter races now? Thought a set of RS3s would last most of an 8-hour enduro on something like that?
  23. What kind of pace do chumpcars run around mid ohio? like 1:50s, or 1:40s or? Main thing holding me back is speed and cost. Would have to borrow a trailer, get all the racer suit stuff, build a car...and that buys a lot of hpdes and consumables. I went around in a 330 and it was borderline snoozefest! Only the nasueating body-roll kept me awake lol. I'm warming up to it
  24. I've been trying to talk myself into converting an extra e36 into a chumpcar or etc for awhile, but I'd fall asleep at mid ohio in that thing... Probably make 100mph on the back straight LOL
