    The Force Awakens

He can't be a force ghost. The jedi were able to do this for a long long time. Then the ability/knowledge to do so was somehow lost. Qui-Gon Jinn then learned how to do it in a manner. He could communicate, but not manifest himself in a physical form. He taught Obi Wan and Yoda how to do so, and Obi Wan was able to take it a step further to manifest himself physically.

    The Force Awakens

Yes, but that was before Ep III. In episode IV, Obi Wan also states, "I was once a Jedi Knight, the same as your father." I interpret that as Obi Wan not considering himself a Jedi Knight after the event's of Ep III. So if you aren't out saving the Galaxy. You change your name. What else is there to do? Find yourself a hot babe, put a ring on it, and get to using your fleshsaber. You don't have to be a jedi to be force sensitive and to use it. There are people/groups in the expanded universe that aren't jedi's or sith that use the force. Notice that these are considered religions. Jedi/Sith, Light/Dark...different manners of honoring and practicing the Force. But those aren't the only ways. Look up White Current.

    The Force Awakens

I just read this and think this MAY have some merit as I do believe Rey being Luke's daughter could be a little too, "obvious." I know JJ Abrams likes to keep things a mystery for the audience. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/ben-ostrower/rey-is-obi-wan-kenobis-granddaughter_b_8911656.html

Me theories at this point: 1.) Rey is either Luke's daughter, or was part of the Jedi Academy that Luke had instituted. a.) Kylo seemed to pay special attention when he was told the BB-8 escaped with a girl. "What girl!?!?!?!?" He took specific interest in that. b.) I was told in one of the Star Wars games, Kylo can be heard referring to Rey as "cousin," though I haven't been able to personally verify c.) Another buddy said something to me about it, "he mentioned something about her having her father's lightsaber" I believe in regards to the video game 2.) Supreme Leader Snoke a.) Best theory I can run with is Snoke is either darth plagueis (Palpatine/Sidious' former master), or the character was at least inspired by him. b.) The Same music plays in the Snoke scene as is playing in Ep III when Palpatine tell Anakin about his former master. c.) Palpatine tells Anakin in Ep III that his master had learned not only to prevent people from dying, but could even create life. (Palpatine also says his master had taught him everything he knew.) So two things on that. Palpatine wasn't successful in actually killing him or Snoke/Plagueis was able to bring himself back. (In the expanded stories, Sidious didn't actually die when Vader through him down that shaft, and he was actually able to reincarnate himself multiple times). AND...Anakin was immaculate conception. Did Snoke/Plagueis create Anakin? And if he did, that would make Snoke/Plagueis the great grandfather of Kylo Ren/Ben Solo, (Jacen in the EU). As for Rey using the force...yeah, she learned a little quicker than I would have probably portrayed, but it certainly didn't ruin anything for me. Everyone is different. Look at how Kylo uses the force compared to how Vader did. Vader choked a few people. Kylo has demonstrated an ability to do far more than that. Maybe the force gets stronger the longer the skywalker lineage carries on? Or the previous theory, that she was actually a jedi in training before her memory was erased or her brain blocked the horrible memories of her past. Doesn't matter. I got goosebumps and an adrenaline rush every time that lightsaber flew to her hand instead of Kylo's. I was most pleased with the fight scenes. This absolutely felt like star wars to me. Not as much crappy CG as 1-3, real props and costumes....it just felt right. I really liked the characters, Poe, Finn, and Rey. Finn was crackin me up. I want to see it a 4th time, but I have to stop spending all this money, ha ha.
  6. I thought Wiggs proved it doesn't...
  7. 1600 is overkill. I got a good deal on them, and they gave me room to grow. At 30psi, I think I see low 60's duty cycle, so they have even more room to go.
  8. May be different for an evo, but on my 1G, it was a matter of going from 880cc injectors to 1600, so after I sold the 880's, I had about another $125 into it, then a walbro 450lph pump for another $150. (You should already have an AFPR so I don't count that as an extra expense.) Stock fuel lines. Stock rail. Stock filter. Did 130.75 at 30psi in the 1/4. 3395lbs with me in it. I think that works out to 525whp, which would be closer to 600ish crank. You don't typically need to do too much to the fuel system on these to jump to e85.

    The Force Awakens

Got round 3 in this weekend.
  10. Saw this guy across the street today. The bigger female that was right beside it took off before my wife could get her camera. http://i1038.photobucket.com/albums/a461/RyanCorlew/Outdoors/IMG_9823_zpsto5crudu.jpg http://i1038.photobucket.com/albums/a461/RyanCorlew/Outdoors/IMG_9828_zpsy4vljwxw.jpg
  11. Sure. Have the dog trained. Obedience and tricks are two different things. Most dogs sit, lie, come, etc as a trick, not a true command. When I tell a dog to sit, it's to sit and stay seated until released or given another command. Most dogs sit until they get bored or distracted, then they proceed on to something else they want. The fact that the dog understands what "sit" means is good. But now that it knows the general concept of sit, it can be taught, that it's a command, not a request at it's discretion. Once you open up a line of communication through training, the dog can be taught pretty much anything because there is an understandable ability between the handler and the dog to communicate.
  12. True, the old saying, "you can't teach an old dog new tricks" is garbage. The percentage of older dogs that can not be trained is very very small, and it's usually due to a legit medical/brain issue. That being said, IMO, starting from a puppy is almost always easier/better long term, because you don't have to try to mod bad behaviors, you only have to ensure the pup only learns good ones. But, I have had dogs from pups, and dogs from adulthood. Haven't come across one that couldn't be trained yet.
  13. Watch an episode of the dog whisperer, put a slip chain and a leash on, go for walk, profit.

    The Force Awakens

I would agree that there are several "plot holes" in the author's "plot holes", and as such, the author should stop being such an "a hole."
  15. This is correct. Everyone wants to think dogs aren't living creatures capable of making decisions, and it's like taking a wrench, turning a bolt, and everything is fixed. Not the case. You get out what you put in. I have told everyone that having a legit good dog is a lifestyle, not a hobby. Training can be incorporated in nearly EVERY aspect of life. Take your dog to get dog food and do heel auto-sits through the store. Do downs in the store, etc. If you want to have fun, do this stuff in front of a pet store "trainer" that is trying to walk around with their client's dog and get it to do "commands" with some meat paste out of a tube as a reward. It's kind of funny. Walks through goodale. Put the dog in a down command as you eat dinner. Etc. It's a lifestyle. The boundaries thing is good. A dog should NOT have free roam of the house off the bat. Also, waiting for food, etc is good too. It teaches the dog self control. Years and years ago I would hold a piece of food in front of the dog's face and correct the dog when it tried to take it before I gave the OK. The dog learns quick to pay attention to your Q. People would say its mean to tease the dog. I say BS. Everywhere in nature creatures have to earn the rewards of hard work. The dog always eventually got the food when it started paying attention to my Q's instead of trying to just take it. The critics were the kind of people that have their dogs pulling them at the end of the leash, which is what I found most amusing.
  16. That is a part of it. Now, I don't have an issue with lack of experience. We have all been there in many aspects of our lives, and only through experience do we learn and get better, but that was one of the things I picked up on in my time with the trainer. I felt he didn't even fully understand the curriculum he was trying to teach. That is separate from my issues with the training philosophy as a whole though. One other thing to note about them, and this may have changed int he last 6yrs or so, but the trainers aren't SMS employees per say. You buy into the company, kind of like a franchise, and you get to use their logo and their training methods, and they help with advertising and support. Whereas some place like NK9 is more of a college where you go through the courses, receive your certificate, and then you go start your own business, or if you are really good and they have a spot, they can hire you as an instructor at their facility. They also help with some networking and such, but once you graduate, you are on your own to start your own business and such.
  17. You have to pay attention to how SMS describes their techniques and the terminology they use. The wording they use leads one to believe one thing, when in my opinion, it's really something else going on, but they don't want you to understand it that way. I had some meetings and did some stuff with an SMS instructor and tried to be polite in the way in which I called him out on things, and I think he got a little aggravated because I picked up on things most people wouldn't and I would call him out on it.
  18. Well said. They do good work with all the dogs I have seen, and some of the trainers up there have GSD's and Malinois' that are downright awesome. Better than a lot of the police dogs you see in videos that don't "out" on command. They were doing protection training with one students black GSD years ago and as the dog was mid air and mouth about to clamp onto the agitators arm, they gave the out command and the dog immediately turned it's head to the side and didn't bite. Which is awesome because most dogs try to get that bite in real quick anyway because the bite acts as a reward of sorts. IMHO with advanced trained dogs, my personal opinion is you can tell the quality of the training and the handler by how the dog "outs" of an attack command. Most of what I see out there is garbage. Dog's not outing and keep biting, dogs so anxious to bite they bite the handlers, etc.
  19. I don't put too much weight into Vet opinions on training philosophy just as I don't put too much opinion in a trainers opinion in regards to medical issues with dogs. Are opinions from either side be somewhat relevant to the other side? Sure. But it wouldn't be what helps me make my final decision. That being said, I stated above I don't care for their school of thought, but simply put it out there as an option. You can ask anyone who's dogs I have trained. I NEVER tried to present myself and my techniques as the only way to train a dog, and in fact, I encouraged ALL of them to look at various trainers and methods and decide what they think will work best, because in the end, it's the owners decision and they are the ones that need to live with it.
  20. Every dog is different, I am just saying, for every dog I have trained, it was taught in a day. Some may take a bit longer. Just pointing out, it's not usually too difficult of a command to teach. There was a high energy young dog ripping around a few years ago with no collar or micro chip. The dog was wild. Had obviously never been on a leash before as was demonstrated when I put a leash and slip collar on. I decided I was going to teach that dog how to walk properly on a leash while I walked him around the neighborhood. Halfway through the walk, I had the dog not tugging on the leash, and walking beside me. By the end of the walk, I had the dog auto sitting when in the heel command and I stopped walking. This was like 45min. From there it's just incorporating distractions and such. Temptations to reinforce that the auto-sit command still applies when a squirrel runs by or someone drops a steak in front of you.
  21. Sit Means Sit is another option, and they use only e-collars. Their dogs are pretty impressive, but I am not a huge fan of their school of thought as the dogs are always at 100% and I don't care for the manner in which they incorporate the e-collar in training. I'm not saying it's right or wrong, and it does "work" very well depending on how you define "well", but it's not my cup of tea. It's kind of a quantity over quality deal IMHO. You can find videos of SMS trained dogs all over the interwebz. I can give you some more details on their philosophy if you need more.
  22. a proper heel auto sit can be taught to a dog in a day.
