  1. I was out this morning for an engagement shoot with some friends, I saw this street and told them that I was going to need a minute. The lighting was just too good to pass up. http://i328.photobucket.com/albums/l338/markschmitter/_80A1337_zpscugysoqp.jpg
  2. Next time you have something like this to shoot you better call me. Looks freaking awesome, nice shots.

    315N?

The roundabout is at Orange, and is fantastic. As far as I know 315 is open, you just can't take 750/Powell Rd. west up the hill into Powell. 750 is still open towards Polaris/23. This is all current of a few days ago and there were no "closing soon" signs that I saw.
  4. Just to have a full shot of the car I grabbed a shot of a matching cts-v off google. Both are lowered. Gunmetal http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i169/1fynzx/Gunmetal_zps2d469c07.jpg Bronze http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i169/1fynzx/Bronze_zps454043cb.jpg
  5. When it comes to the blue color coming from the flash you'll need to gel it to match whatever white balance you're set at. Your flash is temperature balanced to sunlight, so when you shoot in a room lit with really warm tungsten lights you need an orange gel over the flash to match the ambient temperature. They're super easy to use and make a world of differnece in getting rid of the "I used flash" look.
  6. Went for 2010 new year's eve. It is very westernized in terms of women and not following their cultural norms. Many English people vacation/have second homes there. I was worried about sticking out like a sore thumb but in all of the places a normal person would want to go you'll be among many non-natives. Obviously you don't want to act like an idiot but I think that's a given. We did a desert tour that took us to a party in the middle of the dessert for NYE so it was dark and we couldn't see much desert, but it was really cool. I'd imagine they do parties out there every weekend. Saw the largest mall and the fountains which are fantastic. Went to the beach to chill and check out the Burj Al Arab. Also went over to the Atlantis Dubai and walked through the hotel as it was incredible. We didn't do a boat tour but I think that would've been cool to see all of the buildings. We also went to a couple museums and a "public" mosque where they explain their religious traditions. All in all it was an incredible trip(minus the layover in Kuwait, that blew) and any hesitations I had going there were completely gone at the end of the first day. So much was under construction then I can't imagine what has gone up in 3 years.
  7. As the cleaning continues, I have another piece to sell. I purchased this desk from Ikea 1.5 years ago. It is the Malm with cabinet option. It is a great, sturdy desk and has served me well. There are some nicks and scratches from my chair bumping it that you can see in the pics. There is also a cluster of scratches under where my iMac sat and where I always use my mouse that I have pictured. The scratches from under the computer don't look so horrible in real life, the picture is pretty overexposed. New this desk is $150. I'm asking $70, and bonus, it is basically already assembled! I have broken it down into the top, the cabinet, the leg, and the cord ledge for easier transport. It can go back together in 10 minutes tops. You can also reassemble it with the cabinet on the right side. 9. Looking for a 14x5.5 4 lug steel wheel if anyone has one laying around. Girlfriend bent one on a pothole. Looking to spend around $20-30. Don't need the tire but if it saves you the hassle I can take it. Thanks
  10. I've used this for a couple of shoots. The location is an alley, but there is very little traffic. https://maps.google.com/?ll=39.963185,-82.999904&spn=0.002284,0.005413&t=m&z=19&layer=c&cbll=39.963283,-82.999921&panoid=5iwI9SGbnLyuTWu1Mgqu9g&cbp=12,298.86,,0,16.14

  13. Just waiting on the UPS man at this point...
  14. As a wedding photographer/videographer I see a lot of weddings. I think while there is still a certain stigma attached to asking for cash as opposed to gifts it is becoming much more common. Especially with the change in the dating/marriage process these days. Since it isn't uncommon for couples to already live together and have most of the classic "wedding present" household items there really isn't much else that would be beneficial. There isn't a need for 3 toasters and 2 bread makers. I think it all comes down to how you approach it, somehow making it fun for the guests. I don't know the logistics of it, but if you were to set up a Kickstarter page for you honeymoon and offer cheesy souvenirs from wherever you go for each of the donation tiers or something along those lines could be an option.
