  1. As a huge fan of the Nissan Z car lineage (particularly the Z32), this saddens me, and makes me want to buy a 350z to try and not suck.

At this point though, I'm afraid of catching some disease that surely must come with purchasing one, some douchey infection in the blood.

    This.

    Stick with a z32. Or maybe a 370z?

    This, also.

  2. Is this what you are talking about? I know so far that Picasa does this, but she still needs to try it out so we don't know how well it works. But if another program does this well, then it could be worth a try.

I believe so. Apple calls this "Faces" so when I click on the Faces tab I see all of the faces I care enough about to have named. So, for example, I have one for my girlfriend. From any project, album, or my entire library I can pull up the search box, and under the "Faces" search field type in her name and it shows all of the pictures of her. I can't seem to find a way to tell it that I want to see all photos of her and myself, or any other combination, but I could be missing something.

You don't have to manually tag every photo, but you do need to confirm the faces it thinks are a correct match. It puts the best matches at the top of the thumbnails so you can simply click and drag over them all until you get to some of the wrong ones near the bottom. Then option-clicking says the match is incorrect.

Here is apple's page about it

  3. I may be missing something important here, but are we looking for software that scans photos for faces and groups those people together?

Apple iPhoto and Aperture both have this feature, and it works fantastically. Once you select a few good shots it gives you a batch of thumbnails of the face it thinks is the one you are trying to select, then you confirm the correct ones by clicking them or clicking and dragging over large groups of correct ones.

  4. I bought a sigma 10-20mm for my canon mainly for moving car rig shots, but honestly I can't say that it has been worth it beyond that. Even at half the cost I always consider selling it. I'm with Tim, maybe invest in a nice, fast piece of glass.

It can give a cool perspective on things, and can really add a contemporary, dramatic feel to a photo, but it can also ruin a good photo with distortion, especially when you start using it with people in the picture.

  5. Good luck with the sale. For anyone not familiar with these cars, that engine is one of the most bullet proof engines that BMW ever made. My brother's 535 has close to 200k on it and still runs like a champ which is why BMW put that engine in almost every model of car(also sold it to be put into boats and planes) it made in the 80s and early 90s!
  6. I'm down to 170 with 11% body fat from around 245 in January of 2010. I've recently got a dedicated body fat monitor rather than the one on the scale I was using, and the numbers are much different so I don't have a good starting BMI from 2010.

It feels fantastic. I've never been so confident in my life, and the best part is it has been a complete life style change. I still eat everything I love, just a more normal, human sized portion. Once I got past the "I need to shovel in as much of this food as possible to enjoy it" mentality, it became so easy. I never feel deprived, and still can go out and have fun whenever.

  7. Heres some quick ones I did. I wasn't sure how much of the roof you wanted so I didi 3 different versions. I also wasn't sure if there was supposed to be door moldings so I took them off. If you grab better pics I can put in a little more time.

  8. HAHA. Sure, if you guys don't mind it leaking oil and blowing smoke everywhere! Maybe we can get a good james bond-esque smoke screen shot. :lolguy:

That's perfect, my power steering leak can act as an oil slick! Now we need someone with missiles behind their headlights....

And thanks for the compliments! For as much as I was drooling over your car I would offer to do an even trade, but I doubt that'd go over well :D

  9. Having the right gear and having a clue of how to use it are two totally different things:dumb:

A good camera does not make a good photographer.

Are you still shooting on auto? One of these days we'll put together a quick camera walkthrough. I know some other ZROC members have shown an interest in breaking free of the little green box.

  10. Sick! If there's one car from the era that has aged better than the Z32 it's the RX-7. Great color and overall look. Love that location too! I was downtown yesterday trying to find a spot but the construction and traffic made it impossible.

We should do a 90's japanese shoot sometime! Your car matches my wheels :D

  12. It's been a couple of years since I put up(or have taken) any pics of my car so I went out today to do a quick shoot. I drove all over the place and then stumbled upon this loading dock area in Hilliard. Some rain came through so there's some water in some of the pics.

Not much has changed since the last time I put up pictures. The two big things would be that it has been lowered a little more on the coilovers and I wet-sanded and polished it earlier this month to take care of some orange peel that has bothered me. Well, I also lost some paint off my front lip under the driver side IC vent, but let's stick to the positive things:fuuuu:

Sorry about the odd sizes, I exported as a % of original and I had cropped some so the sizes are a little off, but I don't care to re-export and re-upload right now.

  13.

Friend Will in New York, is a foreground and background shooting. He has the asian market wrapped up. Check him out. http://www.william-chang.com/

Loving his work. Ill be shooting my first wedding in about a month, and am soaking in every possible bit of info and inspiration that I can.

I agree with the above comments, while we are only looking at a few photos, I feel like there is too much filtering. I understand the importance of the timeless look it gives, but I feel that it can become a gimmick.

I think if you crop right in on the ring picture it will improve it dramatically.
