i am not sure if the internal transformer was switched or not but when i purchased it, i told them to make it work for 220 and they did.
since you didnt check your ground, check it now. check all your wiring, i promise you this works on 220.
the welder is set up for 220, i dont know if you guys have a bad ground or something is mis wired, bring it to my house and plug it into my 220 outlet, if it doesnt work because there isnt enough voltage, i will pay you 100 dollars
if you did not change the wires inside the plug on the welder to match the wires on your outlet, please make sure the wires on your outlet resemble mine

no its a single phase
chad, double check all your wiring, it worked just fine on my 220 set up
also since your running 208v, what size breaker are you using?
one of my buddies really wants one to. they are really neat and all but ask yourself this...
do you have a place to ride that around (besides up and down the street)
will you actually use it for work around the house
and do you have a trailer to haul it around in
also you have to realize that because of the long wheel base and relatively small tires, those things arent the best for mudding or rock climbing, so unless you have a whole bunch of flat trails, they arent to much fun.
you would be much better off getting a nice 4x4 atv
