CR NEWBIE Meet & Greet...Saturday, July 11th (Still on)
Septro replied to FourString's topic in Events
I'm going to try and make it back from Dayton in the late afternoon. The all ohio bimmer meet is the same day unfortunately -
+100 to the having kids comment. Preface any thoughts when you are angry and about to do something wrong by thinking about whether or not you want to be around for your kid(s). One thing I don't get is a lot of the posts here from folks that start off "I'm an easy going guy but.." A temper is a temper, whether you repress it until something blows up (trivial or not) or you lose your bearing in otherwise stressful situations. When you feel like really going off on someone - practice taking a just 2-3 seconds before speaking, being deliberate but firm in your communication. There just are very few things in this world that are worth really going off on someone -but in all cases, losing your cool equates to losing your argument and your position of empowerment. It takes a strong man to conduct restraint rather than one who acts totally on impulse.

make it $50 and I'll leave the Valet map on with no boost.. lol
-
I usually hate Michael Bay movies.. you can't see shit once the action starts and the camera looks like an epileptic geriatric with 5 thumbs is shooting the video. But a good summer flick is hard to pass by - who wants to babysit!?!?
-
I wonder if they will lose anyone on the boats this year. You know some of those dudes have to write 'goodbye' letters before they ship out just for that reason.
-
Why do I feel dirty after reading that? I need a shower.
-
Wow..$160-190ish for full tint makes my ass pucker for having to pay $450 for my car. I put 35% Pinnacle F1 ceramic tint on mine due to the comfort access feature (I never take my key out - eva) I'll keep these places in mind if I get stopped and have to remove is since 50% is the law here it seems.
-
That show has some straight up scary moments for some of those fishermen - that and Ice Road Truckers is no joke.
-
My car looks like a tercel at hi-speed - maybe he was confused
-
+1 target practice. Take a .44 Magnum and keep saying 'You feelin lucky punk?' to each glass you shoot.

Ever since I put the wrong type plug on an aluminum block which seized and then when I went to take them off with a torque wrench and sheared the plug right off the block and had to get it re-tapped turning a $20 plug change into a $600 tune-up on my 1989 Escort - uhh I learned my lesson about working on cars. Wish I had the internet back then Screw it - I still do everything that doesn't include a lift or special tools right now even on my bumper-to-bumper car. I don't think the dealer would take kindly to my mods lol.
-
As for the OP - the India dude could be a guy getting ready to move here for work so I wouldn't discount the guy. Then again, he could be salivating at all the hotties he's gonna be picking up in bangalore with his new ride when he pays you with monopoly money.

With all that rev-matching downshifts - Heel/Toe will go the way of the dinosaur

My runs, as was everyone else's by way of their complaints, suck Donkey Balls. My best was 12.5 @ 111. I barely broke 13.0 @105. I know the heat was bad but uggh, that was some heinous shit. Meth kit here I come!! lol
-
wow there is like no one here - I can get a dozen runs in if it stays this way. Coming from the west coast where you're lucky to get 2 runs on a Friday night - I can get used to this.
-
So how strict is the track? Have to wear pants and long sleeve shirt or can I come in there pimping shorts and a wife beater?
-
I might head out if there's a decent chance I could get some runs in but I thought forecast was for t-storms tomorrow night..
-
DAMMM!! Those are crazy numbers.. I need to make my way to IPS to get a dyno now that I got a new intercooler.. I wont get your kind of numbers but 415ish would make me happy. Let's head to the strip!
-
Being here 2 weeks now - there are more cops than motorists in north Columbus it seems. I can't imagine someone trying to race on public roadsover here without getting caught. I was cruising through Sawmill and some Ford Fusion (yes a Fusion) tries to light it up next me and no sooner was there a cop blowing up the radar detector with Laser..
-
Here's wishing you and your wife the best and speediest of recoveries.
-
^ think I saw this car at Polaris today. Do all CR members park backwards into parking spaces?? lol
-
Keep on truckin! I think I got my CCNA back in 2000 when I was working my way up. The certs pay off, trust me. It was only the CCIE-Security lab which broke my back and I haven't taken a cert since But it will help you get in the door - the rest is up to you.
-
Welcome - but one thing I've learned is that no matter what you got, someone either has something faster than you for less money or they have more money than you to make it faster. Either way be happy with your shit and don't worry about no one else. As for me, I race mini-vans cuz I know they won't beat me!

I saw the Viper in the first picture and I was DAMMMM! http://rogerover.com/gallery/blogphotos/damn.jpg Then he said he had an Escort and a mountain bike and it reminded me of my 1989 1/2 Ford Escort GT. I thought I erased that car deep from my memory banks and now he's brought it back with a full force! Props to you for rockin the escort - may it never die on you on the road while you're on a date and force you to take the loser cruiser (bus) embarrasingly back home. -
My 20yr is coming up in a few months.. I'm having the hardest time finding breakdancing pants, shelltop Adidas and a Kangol hat to wear. Its either that or a Le'Tigre polo shirt with some Lee jeans and a belt buckle with my name on it. Decisions, decisions..
