  1. Do you need your competition L's to go to open track days? I've always wanted to run at mid ohio. I have my standard $60/year SCCA license but just for solo and rallycroass.
  2. The EVO X is a far better all around car, I don't think there is a question about that. In the ohio winters they handle amazingly. I haven't been able to drive a new STI yet, but I have ridden in quite a few. The STI interior is far nicer and more comfortable, but when you look at the race inspired cockpit that is the interior of the EVO X it just gives you goosebumps. Coming from a new gen lancer owner I can tell you even my car (with very few mods) absolutely sticks to the road with a tad bit of understeer and moderate body roll. The ride is smooth when it needs to be smooth, and rockin when you want to corner or take it off road. And it can handle the off road amazingly I might add. Get the EVO X, in white. The black and red trim looks amazing on the white.
  3. no, NO man I believe you'd get your ass beat for saying something like that. Get this, they are both Chevys at heart right? And in the chevy 'breakdown' the vette is a step up (performance and style wise) from the camaro. And unless its a fire breathing camaro, there wouldn't even be a THOUGHT in my mind of EVER giving up a corvette. Tradition of vette: decades of refined supercar performance for a decent price. Tradition of camaro: Red necks love em. Had 10 years where it was a bad ass car. Definitely NOT a vette.
  4. Anyone else still want to try to pull under the bed of a big semi after seeing fast and furious. Every time I pass one I always think of that.
  5. hey now, just welcoming another bird to the flock.
  6. Whats wrong with a system is that 99% of people slap in 2 12's and an amp and head unit into their stock system and it sounds like shit. absolute shit. and its usually in their ford probe which vibrates so bad the spoiler rattles. Rules of speakers in CARS that are made to go FAST 1) Nothing larger than 10's 2) if your going to have subs, you better get some 6x9's to fill in the highs 3) cut out the trashy mids 4) buy a good amp, not any of the trash they sell at best buy, circuit city (oops) or the like. Go to an actual sound store and pick up a good, solid amp. 5)If you have anything sony in your car, fuck off 6) if you have anything kenwood in your car, double fuck off 7) if you have anything rockford fosgate... just get fucked (have it in my mitsu and it BLOOOWS) 10) because im out of ideas... get something with an ipod hook up, and download some 320kbs files because cds suck, sound like shit, and are outdated... much like systems in cars.
  7. dude, my iphone camera is totally better than that. I like the pixelated grainy look. wtf
  8. always welcome yet another mitsu owner. We need to get our own group rolling together.
  9. and the 75% that were women... were on their cell phones. I too cannot wait for the cell phone law.
  10. yea you should've just stuck with it man, not a dime would've come out of your, or your insurance providers pocket. Expect a 20% hike in your premiums for a few years.
  11. I'm willing to bet $100 he was on his cell phone. Every single time I am driving to or from work on 71, 7/8 of the cars I pass that are driving like complete assholes... the drivers are on their cell phones. Columbus is not that big of a city that you cannot wait until you reach a destination to call someone. Put the phone down, put on some music to listen to and fucking drive... its not that hard. I'm so pissed off at 71N from 4-6p. Three lanes, everyone driving 60mph, talking on their cell phones. If it weren't for the rolling road blocks, there wouldn't be traffic in this city. Maybe its just from seeing the assholes in LA, where everyone talks and drives, and it causes 90% of accidents out there.
  12. My wheels are also black? I think it looks a lot sharper and more aggressive on a black car. As for black wheels on any other color?????
  13. I'm definitely going to check out the real stock ralliart when I'm finished. I mean basically your getting an Evo light for 10k less, you can't really get more for the price range.
  14. I found a dude halfway under the rear of the mitsu looking to see if it was AWD. I was about to roll to kroger to drain the lizard and had half the mind to start the car with him underneath. I love to check out peoples car's just as much as everyone else, but I have the respect to ask them first before I go crawling through the damn thing. My last memory, when I decided it was time to leave, was seeing a bunch of what looked like high school kids sitting around in a convertible sebring, just being loud, pumping music and dancing around in their car, I wanted to puke (Hope it wasn't any of you guys, if so, sorry in advance).
  15. Seriously, do it. Let them take the car back, and agree to finance the over milage fees. Wait two weeks, come back and buy the car. Theres no law/ rules against that.
  16. 88 in a 65. Got out of it. Here is the story: Beautiful day, heading up 23 to BG in the R just hauling ass. 90+ pretty much the whole way. I run into traffic in both lanes, have to slow down to ~80. Look in the RVM, sherriff. Fuck. I pull over to the right lane, he follows and turns on the red and blue. I pull over. He asks me 'did you see me back there in Wyandott county' I say no he said 'yea you were busy weaving in and out of traffic, it took me 15 minutes to catch up to you'. I apologize, he comes back with the ticket and tells me hes only writing me up for 83. I guess he clocked me at first at 88, but it didn't lock in. So he caught back up to me, and when he was behind me he 'paced' me at 83. How I got out of ticket. ORC code checked. No adverse conditions checked. Clear. Daytime. No traffic. Rural area. Took it to court. Cop showed. Told the judge I was not driving unsafe for conditions, proof being the ticket with no adverse conditions checked. Also, the cop did not fill out the back of the ticket at all with the waver info, just wrote $120 at the bottom, didn't even have an address on where to pay, or to show up to court. Address was wrong, date was wrong, basically the ticket itself was fucked. The judge must've liked my plea and response and cut me absolutely free.
  17. Fortunately... and unfortunately I do not have pictures of the spoken mother.
  18. Yea, jesus man, my mom is a lovely lady. I have been told she's quite attractive and my old roommate once pitched a tent when she walked in a room... she noticed. I'm sure they can afford any fees they incur, I just wish they could've afforded my college education haha.
  19. I'm contemplating the genesis coupe. They sell both at my dealership. We'll see, I like my lancer a lot so I might just pick it up and use it as a winter car.
  20. Its a digital ODO, so rolling it back wouldn't be an option. I just got off the phone with a car dealer buddy and he said just purchase the truck at the end of the lease and they will waive the over milage fees. He said you can also haggle down the residual value a little bit and she MIGHT end up with the same, or slightly higher, monthly payment. Basically, she just got into a lease to buy agreement with nissan.
  21. .15 I believe. And her lease is not up yet either. She drives to and from work every day, and then drives my bro to whatever sports practice etc. Groceries etc. My dad has an escalade they use for long trips but other than that its all on her wheels. She drove to FL and back once too I believe. I told her she should just purchase the car and see if they will wave the milage, worst case just roll the charges into the bottom line of the finance package. Not sure if that was good advice or not, I just don't want to see her fork over $4000 for no good reason.
  22. No im definitely talking about the bullshit of flying around the lot and not respecting other people's cars in the process (leaning on something thats not yours with a studded belt). God forbid someone is acting a fool trying to roll into a spot like ace ventura and miscalculates their brake package and really screws up my car. Last time I went with the Mitsu I left with two extra dents in the passenger door from someone jacking their door into mine.
  23. I have a question. My mother's lease on her murano is up in a few months and she is about 12000+ miles over on her lease. Shes contemplating buying the truck when the lease is up, so how would this effect the charges? Do they wave them if you finance the car? Can she just roll them into the finance package? She's knows nothing about cars, financing or leasing, and isn't the brightest bulb in the box.
  24. oh trust me I could give a flying fuck, hence why I could careless to race either car. I will rally the lancer just because I know it will be fun as fuck, and thats on personal joy alone. It's nothing against any of you guys, you all seem cool as shit, but it will probably be a couple of meets before I roll the R out. From what I saw at polaris a few weeks ago... not exactly the crowd you want to roll a car like that out to. When people can't handle/ appreciate the hunk of junk they have at these meets, how can I expect them to respect MY 80k baby? The cars and coffee is probably where it will make an appearance. I love both of my cars to death. My last g/f broke up with me I swear because she was threatened by the R and how much attention I give it.
  25. Even outside of the general easton mall area... such as the strip with the wal-mart across the street, or even on the other side of 270? I'm down to help actually organize something and get something real going here. I have been to a couple of the late night meets up by polaris with the mitsu, and that's how I found out about all of this. Its a good thing you guys have going on, and it would only take just a little more effort to make it legit. Going that route, you could kick out all the ricers and people actin a fool. I'm not really down to race either of my cars on the road, but hanging out on a fri or sat when I don't have anything else better to do, to shoot the shit and scope out some cars is a pretty righteous way to spend the night if you ask me. We could make it like a first come first served type deal. First 50 there get in, the rest can fuck off.
