who knows what was up with the subaru...maybe they weren't flooring it to keep things fun with us...i don't really care....that was the fastest i've ever gone and it was nice to have proof that our limiter was removed

i'm tired of this debate

we get our car on the dyno this week...if you guys must know, i will post the dyno sheets when we get them our car does not have a turbo...so of course we aren't going to have crazy hp...but compared to other regular naturally aspirated 3's, we have a very quick one (i am only comparing it to other 3's, not other cars)

wtf are you talking about...we were driving normally and an sti came up and wanted to have fun so we had fun....we weren't trying to race the car and/or win...my fiance wanted to see how our car handled after we got the limiter removed and some other stuff messed with and we actually stayed pretty close to him but you don't know how many people were in his car, or if they knew how to really drive, etc...."racing" is a lot on the driver and not just the car....you may have a "fast" car, but suck at shifting or your car is packed down with 4 people and then you are getting caught by slower cars....totally depends on lots of things i'm not shit talking that our car is fast...or that it will beat your car....someone just asked why we like our mazda3's and so i answered it and now it has turned into a stupid debate about a 3 keeping up with an sti.... why can't we all just enjoy our cars for what they are....we all like our cars for different reasons and that's why we drive them and not other cars....why does it always have to be a shit talking-fest about how so and so's car will beat so and so's car...or that it will do this in a quarter mile....blah blah blah just go out and have fun with your car and be happy

i never said they didn't handle well...for the price of our car, we are happy that it can keep up

we got the car up to 155 this past week when an sti started to mess with us and we kept up with him (keep in mind that the regular 3's are limited to 118 mph, but we removed it....mazda speeds are limited much higher, but they have a turbo) but my fiance takes this up to nelson ledges and has no problems keeping up with the sti's in the corners because our car handles so well, which is really what we like about it...we aren't concerned about having the fastest car....we would've bought something else if that was the point, but we needed a car that could haul kids and groceries, but still could be a fun weekend toy i'm not saying this car is "fast"...i personally think 155 is fast...that's the fastest i've ever gone (i drive like a grandma), but we were tickled that the car kept up with the sti....we weren't trying to win or anything, just have some fun and see what the car could do

you have a speed, we have a regular 3....my fiance says your gear ratios are shorter than his...he drives his friend's speed and says he redlines it a lot because he has to shift a bunch of times and he's not used to it...we only have 5 gears, too....

yup and i can fit two kids and groceries in the back...or haul a dresser...or fit 4 wheels in it.... we bought them because they are useful and fun, but no one gets hatchbacks

well then, to you, mazdas are not fast...so you answered your own question we don't drag race so fast really doesn't matter...we like to road race, so handling matters more to us

fast compared to what? i hate when people ask that stuff...it's all relative and a person's opinion we think our car is fast...it's naturally aspirated....we've got it tuned a little bit and have some little stuff done to it and we got it up to 155 mph the other day if you get a speed version, they are even faster because they are turbo'ed our car corners like a dream and can keep up with sti's on a track in the turns

they have nice simple interiors...not all cheap plastic pieces, no fake chrome everywhere they come with decent options they handle great if you like a stiffer type car they can fit groceries and kids, but still handle well on a track you can get them under $20k i think they look awesome (unless you get a 2010, and then it's just ugly) i just really like the 3 and i've been looking at a lot of cars...i just bought a nissan versa...if the mazda's had been cheaper, we would've gotten another one, but i needed something a bit cheaper....my versa sucks compared to our 3
