  2. Oh trust me, I'm getting really good at putting this thing back together. I like the truggy, seems like it would take a hit, but with a low center of gravity would be easy to drive. The only thing that concerns me is the long and unprotected control arms. The guy at the hobby store warned me that they tend to break. Oh well, if I can find one for a good price I'll get one. I need something to mess around with off road.
  3. Might have to check them out. So far I've only been to the 2 hobbytown stores (gahanna & hilliard) and hurricane hobbies (polaris). I saw a how-to the other day to turn a 4-tec into a rally car. Something about changing the control arms to a stadum truck and putting some larger wheels on. It is susposed to give that car a slightly higher stance and the ability to go slightly off road.

Apparently there is an RC shop on Gender Rd that just opened a new offroad track, and they are working on an indoor carpet track for on-road cars.

That is NOT stainless steel, people; it is WHITE GOLD!

  5. yep, 4-tec w/.25 motor. I guess that makes sense. Break the cheep and easy to get to parts. At least I'm getting really good at taking it apart and rebuilding it. ha ha ha

That's the 4Tec, right? Just remember that when you replace plastic with aluminum, the force just gets transferred to the next part. Better to bust an arm than a bulkhead. It's a bigger concern for larger offroad cars, I guess.
  6. Well, the little car is back in one piece. Now I just gotta cut the holes in the body so I can mount it on the car. That front diff was a PITA to get put back together. I'll try and get a pic of it this weekend.
  7. ah, no biggie. You guys had more than the other hobby stores. Just need a battery pack and gas tank to get it back up and running.

Sorry we did not have that tank tonight lol.

I have my "hurd" down to 3 now just racing stuff I don't have any bashing stuff.

For 3 years I raced nitro off-road every weekend somewhere in ohio and got very burnt out.

  8. my buddy has a few trucks and tried to get me to start with them. I just prefer the nitro cars. Might look into getting something off road for the winter.

i got 2 trucks....spent to much money fixing them....they just sit in my garage taking space...only thing sweet is when they are running and launching them off ramps
  9. I found one on craigslist for $100. it ran, just needed cleaned up. then I started breaking parts. ha ha ha.

i played around with them last year but they started to add up in costs and decided to sell most of them off

    i had a cen ct5, tmaxx 3.3 and i still have my electric 4tec

  10. interesting... there was a guy working at the hobby store in Gahanna that looks familiar from cars and coffee.

no lol brian "wagner" works at some hobby shop. an also races rc cars
  11. Yeah, I'm learning. I had to replace both servos, the gas tank, battery pack, front bumper and rear shock tower. My car wants to be a airplane. It launched off a driveway and over a mailbox...
