there is to much pressure in the system. or the safety switch is bad take it to a shop like jiffy lube they can evacuate it and fill it to the proper amount. the problem with those do it your self kits is that the gauges do not always work and they are not accurate by any means. the reason is that once there is some freon in the system it will read the same pressure no matter the amount of freon

the psi has nothing to do with the amount of freon. when over filled, it over pressurizes. one of two things can happen you can ruin the compressor or blow a hole some where obviously that is quite the hazard so the safety pressure switch kills power to the clutch
