  1. Hey everyone!

Does anyone know a shop in town that would do a custom pin stripe on a set of wheels?  I reached out to several places and most only do powder coating.  I want to have a 1/8 inch stripe painted on Enkei T6R’s for my Evo X.  Sort of like a time attack stripe. I want paint not powder coating. Any ideas?

  2. Hey all!

I am hoping to have some speakers turned into a piano finish over wood veneer. The now defunct company used to offer this as an option but finding piano gloss versions of their speakers are impossible after ten years out of business.

I have dug around audio forums and the general consensus is it is some type of automotive 2k catalyzed lacquer.

The speakers I have are satin wood veneer and are perfectly smooth. Consensus is I could remove drivers/tweeters and have them sprayed/buffed/polished.

Anyone know any good shops that might take on something like this?

  3. Has anyone nabbed an RTX 3090 card at MSRP after the initial launch? I'm trying desperately to nab one (preferably either FE or one of the pre-water blocked versions) and cannot defeat these stupid bots.

    Any tips/suggestions?

P.S. I'd take any of them I could get as long as I can add a water block after.

    Thanks,

    Pavo

  4. Also further clarification on the oil leak. Thanks to Ryan, who drove the car today, he saw the oil leak and was able to give me a general idea where it was coming from. You can smell it when driving a bit. It appears to be coming from the left side under the exhaust manifold area. Not sure what it is but it truly doesn't lose much oil. I have difficulty flexing and bending that leg so it's tricky for me to get up under there.

I wanted to post this for full disclosure. I am an honest guy and want to make sure everyone knows the good and the bad.

Thanks Ryan for checking that out when driving! I sincerely appreciate it!

    Thanks!

  5. My apologies for the delay in responding on this. The out of state plate is from the guy I bought it from in March. I have had 3 surgeries since November (2 serious) on my leg and getting out has been difficult until the last two weeks. I had the title transferred but never got around to changing tags because I couldn't leave the house until recently.

    Thanks!

  6. Hello!

Up for sale is my 1992 Plymouth Laser RS AWD 5-Speed. 158K on the body but an incredibly nice DSM for the money. This is a reliable daily driver as is with little to nothing needed to make it an incredibly nice DSM. Below are all the good and bad points of the car. This is a great driver that hasn’t been beaten to death like most DSM’s. This car came from Oklahoma as a daily driver but has little/no rust or salt damage. I don’t drive into the office every day due to some recent medical issues and want to see this go to someone that will drive and appreciate it.

    $3,000 OBO… ***Updated CR Price***

    Good

    Rare Laser AWD Turbo!

    4 bolt rear end

    6 bolt motor

    Bad

Obvious DSM Clearcoat issues (see pics)

A few dings dents that need cleaned up with cheap pain job

Small typical DSM oil leak but I can’t find for the life of me. Does not burn oil AT ALL. I put a tiny bit in when I got the car and it held at that level since.

Tiny bit of transmission whine in 1st gear but NO issues shifting/driving

    Manual windows and interior

Driver side window is a PAIN and comes off track easily

Could use a new Oil pressure sending unit

Driver side visor was broken off by previous owner

    Rear hatch struts need replaced

Radio is aftermarket but isn’t the best. Might be something you eventually want to replace but works fine

As you can tell I am nitpicking on the issues and trying to give full disclosure. It’s in great shape for a 25 plus year old car. I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere. I need to get rid of car as I have two cars in an apartment for just me and the apartment complex is getting annoyed with having one of the two cars parked all the time.

Feel free to message me with any questions.

    Thanks!

  7. I had Lucore Auto install my long tube headers, Brembo brake upgrade, and upgraded 3.73 gears last week on my 2013 Mustang and am nothing short of thrilled about their work.

Many of you know me from my DSM days and know that I have a penchant for fast cars that have some unusual or difficult mods. On the surface, what I had installed seems straight forward, but, as many know, headers on Mustangs are no easy task.

Austin and his team were nothing short of awesome in helping me stay within my budget and dealing with several tricky and difficult to install parts. The long tube headers cause the front O2 sensors to not quite reach. This is apparently normal on Mustangs and American Muscle told me to have the sensors re-routed. This was not as easy as AM made it to be but Austin's team were kind enough to spend the time and do that and save me from having to find longer sensors or extenders.

The brakes went on great and look awesome! The rear end was a little tricky but they went as far as re-doing it when they detected diff whine.

The classy part of everything, and the part that really made me smile, was when I came to pick it up on Thursday. Austin had it all cleaned up for me and sitting right outside and waiting. It looked pretty and sounded even better.

Austin stayed in constant contact throughout and was flexible on allowing me to pick it up between meetings at work. I will definitely be back and highly recommend other CR members to take their cars there.

The funny part... I didn't know how truly loud long tubes were until I heard the Borla set I had put on. Austin could hear me driving home a mile away! LOL They sound amazing, gave some extra hp, and get LOTS of attention.

    Thanks Austin and Lucore!

  8. Thanks Brandon! I'm impressed you remember that. It is treating me well. The company I worked for was bought by a bigger and newer transportation company. Some lost their jobs but I was actually given a higher position and promoted twice since in two years.

I'm a senior business analyst now on the corporate project team and working on my doctorate as well. It's all a challenge to juggle but I enjoy keeping busy.

  9. Hey CR,

Long time no talk! It's Pavo (Aaron) from the DSM days. I have upgraded brakes/calipers/SS lines, 3.73 gears on the way and will likely buy long tube headers shortly.

I have gone to PPC before and they are nice but they wanted like $120 an hour from parts you don't buy from them. That's insane. I used to turn to IPS back in my Evo days as their CR rate made them reasonable.

Does anyone have any recommendations on a solid shop that can install said parts and won't completely rip me off? I would prefer someone that knows Coyote Mustangs locally. I know those parts alone are likely a 12 hour or so job so money savings would be nice.

    Thanks!

    Aaron (Pavo)

  10. As some of you know, I had several pieces of suspension sitting to be installed on my 2013 Mustang GT Premium. I was receiving quotes from local shops for significant amounts and much higher than what I thought it should cost for the parts.

Bryan PM'd me and gave me a great quote to do the install and even was willing to do the work over the weekend to avoid any work issues. I dropped the car off with him last Friday and he began work on Saturday. I received numerous texts and updates on the car and showing the progress and keeping me up to date.

I am still learning the Mustang world and am not versed on what parts are of superior quality and what are not. Enter Bryan and some of the BEST customer service I have ever received. He was installng SR Performance LCA's and Panhard bar and texted me and told me that he reached out to the place that sold them to me and explained how poor quality they are. He explained in a professional manner how the parts are such poor quality that he didn't want to install them on any clients car. This led to the company replacing the parts with more expensive/better quality parts.

Sunday came around and he was having an issue with one my Koni yellow shocks. He said he's going to try and get it done and I mistook the exchange as him saying come on out and that he'll have it done soon. The shock turned out to be defective and the car was stuck. He took me all the way back home because the car wasn't ready. Such GREAT customer service.

Bryan got a new shock overnighted the next day and had it installed a day later and finished. He took some awesome before and after pics as well for me that are good enough to get printed out.

Bryan is a young guy but is a heck of a mechanic with even better customer service and an even nicer guy.

I would give him a higher grade than an A+++ if I could. I will be taking my car back to him soon and recommend him to anyone.
