have you checked the lamp failure indicator box? it's a known failure point on later mk3's causing the issues you're describing. the solder joints break. They can be easily repaired or bypassed.

Im not using any wiring from the gtp though. Ive read I will need to extend the map sensor wiring and add boost bypass wiring to tune the stock ecu, beyond that I'm really not sure what wiring changes I'll need to make.

Just a quick update, I finally managed to get some time to work on the car, I've got the old motor out and I'm swapping parts and mounts over to prepare the gtp drivetrain to go in.
