Yes it sounds like a wheel bearing issue. Usually if you're going around a curve one way or the other the sound will either get worse or quieter depending on which way you're turning. At any rate, they arent difficult to replace. Its either 3 or 4 bolts that hold it on after you take the cv shaft nut, brake caliper and rotor off. By turning the wheel to the left or right, you should be able to get to the bolts using a socket, ratchet, and extension.

so you had a w41 in yours? it doesn't sound to me like you had a cutlass supreme. maybe a calais 442, the cutlass supreme with the lgo motor and hm282 trans is beyond rare. it was an option in 1990 and theres around 200 that exist. if you had a 91 with more than 180hp stock, you had a w41 in yours, which was never a factory option, and to my knowledge doesn't exist. pics?
