Worked for me, joined up.

I don't know what you guys are so riled about with SVP's comment. He's kinda right. I wouldn't say the biggest in 30 years, but this is easily the biggest game since the Florida NCG. We have one game to completely silence all B1G haters (and really, we're representing the entire anti-SEC nation here, Buckeye fans or not) by going head-to-head with a team whom many consider the best overall of the BCS+ era. Granted, the entire backstory is completely created by ESPN bias, but to say it's not there is ignorant. We have a lot to prove, a lot to argue for, and a chance to do it. Lose this game embarrassingly and you bet the haters will be out in droves wondering why TCU or Baylor didn't get our spot, and calling the B1G weak. This is absolutely a big game, and I'd be willing to bet it has more viewers than the championship. I'd even go as far as saying this is probably about to be the single most watched college football game to date.

Round robin: The one scheduling system where head to head wins don't matter.

I laugh when you reference local high schools, but you do realize that there are more schools than Groveport Madison and Pickerington, right? Give Hilliard-Darby some credit, they'd murder La Tech too. Ohio State beats Alabama by 14 points. 38-24. They just need to not be cocky from being so hot lately and keep doing what they've been doing. Go for the throat early and contain Cooper.
-
A JT Barrett OSU would wipe the floor with Alabama in the playoffs. Especially in Pasedena. Yep, I went there. Your Tide have barely scrapped by in every FBS game they've played except for 1, and they turned out to be a garbage team anyway. You guys are literally a handful of plays away from being a three loss team (LSU and Arkansas) and not even worthy of being talked about. The fact that you guys are ranked 1 just reeks of ESPN SEC bias, and everyone knows it. Alabama isn't BAD, but they're going to get absolutely destroyed in the playoff, mark my word. Oregon is the team to beat right now. You mad bro ?
-
Shame about the jerseys. If we've ever needed an opportunity to get the team fired up, this is definitely it. A blackout in Lucas Oil (well, our side anyway) would be sick.

Loosely quoting another excellent Reddit comment, but if OSU had beaten VT, and EVERYTHING ELSE THIS SEASON WAS THE SAME, what would the rankings be? An undefeated FSU gets left out? I agree that FSU has been playing semi-lackluster and totally trolling the country, but if pure wins and losses don't matter (the one completely objective metric), what does? I get that it's just the committee's job to get the right four teams in, but placing them anything other than 1 right now is, IMO, disrespectful to the sport. Sure, the ACC is kind of weak this year, but they're not exactly playing in the MAC either. Baylor has every right to be incredibly livid too. I'm okay with one of the Big XII teams being in the playoff in lieu of us (I'm assuming all the key teams win out for this statement, including us, this weekend), but picking TCU over Baylor is downright offensive, considering that game more or less was the conference championship. This committee thing is garbage IMO. Playoff good, human committee bad. /ramble

Fuck, you're right, I was wasted by the Egg Bowl on Saturday. Didn't even make it to the Iron Bowl. Nevertheless, I still hold that Oregon, TCU, or FSU losing this weekend might give us the in as long as we don't look like shit and scrape by. Plus, ESPN would LOVE to have Alabama vs. Ohio State. Easily the most hyped game of college football in all of history.
-
I agree, but just throwing out that one year into it, an 8 team playoff would eliminate 99% of the controversy. P.S., I've got a strong feel that they put us at #5 to justify us getting an invite if anyone 1-4 lose this weekend. Keep your hopes up everyone!
-
I might be overly optimistic, but I think this year alone will be enough for the powers at be to change this crap into an 8 team playoff. I'd much rather see a so-so at-large Cinderella of sorts be let into the playoff than a red-hot team with a legitimate title shot being left out due to not enough slots. As it sits right now, 8 would include Arizona and MSU. Arizona beat Oregon once, but Oregon is amazing and their QB is getting the Heisman. The theoretical MSU spot I'm honestly iffy about, but you could give it to MissSU, GT, KSU, etc., all while having the champions in no questions asked (even including Baylor, who has got to feel incredibly shitty at this point).

If I can get a tax break for being 6'2" and 160 pounds, I'm in. :gabe: -
Looks cool but I can't help but think that this is way more expensive than just getting an Uber or two. Good resource though.

11:26 checking in. Club's going up on a Tuesday. Where's everyone watching the game?

Might hit you up for Michigan. Haven't been to a game this year. Lemme see what the girl's Thanksgiving weekend schedule is like.

If Reddit is any indication, that loss was VT. Nobody wants to play us right now. Nobody.

San Francisco video puts this to shame though. This one isn't BAD, but he's just done better and thus, set his own bar higher. That said, I've watched this 3 times already and haven't regretted it. It's a super cool video. I just like the SF one A LOT. I still can't get over this Mustang though. Fucking insane car!

Can someone explain to me why TCU is still ahead of Baylor in every poll? They (Baylor) are hands down the single most disrespected team in the country this year. Anyway, Buckeye fans should be cheering hard for Wisconsin, we really need them to be a top 10 team before the B1GCG. And if Bama could lose to Auburn, and then if Georgia could beat Mississippi State in the SECCG, that'd be great. Bama winning made 2 SEC teams in the playoff a very real possibility. Or hell, if FSU could just get knocked off, that'd work too. I don't think a one-loss FSU makes the playoff with how lackluster they've looked all year long. Of course, they could be the nation's biggest trolls. EDIT: Tilley's theory could happen too. Literally hell.

Baylor/TCU are both impressive on offense and fun teams to watch. Purely as a fan of the sport, I'd be pissed if the Big XII was left out (we'll assume both teams win out for the purpose of this). Part of the draw to the playoff, IMO, is seeing the different "styles of play" that each conference/team traditionally has. Reason #93 why it needs to be expanded to an 8 team playoff ASAP so the what-beats-what can be fleshed out a bit. UGA winning the SECCG would cause a clusterfuck for sure, regardless of anyones' records.
-
Yep, we're a staple out in Arizona and they know we'd be able to sell tickets. A solid win over a respected ASU team wouldn't be a bad ending to the season IMO.
-
That's asking for a lot. I think it'd be simpler to just have Bama lose on Saturday. One SEC team isn't necessarily bad, especially if that team (theoretically, Mississippi State) ran the table. Nonetheless, I'd be perfectly happy with your solution too. FSU, Oregon/ASU/BigXII, tOSU (assuming Nebraska wins out to give us another top 10 win in the CCG, AND we win convincingly)/BigXII, Mississippi State/Bama/BigXII. I think the Big XII and the Pac-12 are in more of a clusterfuck for their slot(s) than we are, tbh. We're a household brand with a fanbase that travels far and wide. Kinda hard to say the same about ASU/TCU/Baylor. Also, some jimmies are gonna be rustled if TCU gets the spot over Baylor (assuming they both win out, which they should at this point), despite losing to Baylor. Rambling.
