  1. Agreed, he apparently ain't gonna play FOOTBALL anytime soon so his tweet is POINTLESS. Maybe he should stay in SCHOOL.
  2. Or as Reddit put it, systematic covering up of child rape is only as bad as getting a few free tattoos.
  3. SEAHAWKS BABY! I happened to land them in my fantasy team last year, so things are getting pretty serious.
  4. Do they have air defense though? Like maybe drop a dragon also?
  5. I'd like to say that, despite my comments in the previous thread, I fully believe that Braxton Miller would have made a very large difference in this game. Like, such a difference, that I think we would have won. Obviously our offensive line needs to be picked up by Waste Management and burned at the landfill, but this is all stuff that Braxton's been more or less used to for the last 3 years. Granted, this would have been the roughest game to date for him, I think, but our line has been short of stellar for years now. Also, contrary to some of you guys, I'm of the opinion that our defense actually kept us in this game a lot more than it seems. Only giving up 28 when your offense is giving the ball back a handful of plays into a drive damn near every possession, having terrible starting field position to defend against, being completely demoralized by a lackluster offense, crowd not being into it, etc., really isn't that bad. Clearly room for work, but this game could have quite easily become a 30+ point win for VT.
  6. Minus the inferred point (as I read it, anyway) about the Armed Forces Bowl, that article is hilariously spot on. FSU is the only team I would mildly consider giving a pass for a small win margin, but as I posted earlier, Alabama should have dropped and dropped hard. Early season polls are a crapshoot, but this shit is what gives "strength of schedule" to the SESPNC. At least Reddit agrees. /r/CFB has them 6th.
  7. #14 USC vs #13 Stanford -- Don't think USC is as fundamentally sound as Stanford is right now. USC will come out swinging, like always, but Stanford will capitalize on a few very key plays early and hold the lead 'til the end. #7 Michigan State vs #3 Oregon -- I just don't think Michigan State can hang enough on the board enough to keep up, especially in Eugene. MSU's D is solid, but Oregon WILL score a few eventually. Oregon's D isn't anything to laugh at either. I'd love nothing more this weekend than to be proven wrong though. Michigan vs #17 Notre Dame -- It's my girlfriend's dying wish to see Notre Dame lose. Va Tech at #7 Ohio State -- It'll be rocky, but we'll pull this one out 27-21. JT gets his jimmies rustled early, but our stable of running backs takes over. We drop out of the top 10 after this win.
  8. I was kidding boss, I know you're incredibly successful. But DirecTV is about on par with a cheap lease, or used car payment...
  9. Is this how you afford the Lamborghinis? I have internet only from WOW, 30/3 service and it's $40/mo with free equipment rental (we have our own, but just throwing that into the thread for anyone's information). My roommate has a Netflix subscription which we share, and there's a bunch of free legitimate content online, like South Park, which is the only TV show I regularly watch. Obviously, in today's day and age, it's stupid easy to pirate illegal content also. For live sports, I quickly came to the conclusion a few years back that I was almost always out at a bar anyway, so ditching cable just made sense. I also borrow a co-worker's WatchESPN subscription (she has kids who like to watch TV), and buy her lunch a couple times a month as "payment". If I could pick channels ala-carte, I would get a subscription again, but you can't. I fucking hate the current cable model and encourage everyone to cut the cord and pirate everything you can until the scumbag companies adopt to the current market. It's downright disrespectful to keep shitty channels afloat by bundling them with channels worth watching. I would pay for ESPN's network, BBC America, Comedy Central, and a small handful of other channels if I could, but this is a solid $80+/month with anyone locally, and that's without internet.
  10. Oregon and OU should have jumped Bama. UCLA barely wins and they get dropped 4 spots, but Bama barely wins against a just-as-shitty-but-still-kinda-sorta-relevant-ish team and stays put. Good thing the polls don't matter a whole lot this year. #NoMoreBama EDIT: I know it's week one and all, but the bias is stupid.
  11. Takeaways from the weekend: First half was sketchy as hell, but we did better than I expected TBH. Navy, Georgia Tech, etc., are all a clusterfuck to play defense against. Literally every play could be a ten yard loss or a ten yard gain. Second half looked pretty good for our defense. I'm still curious about our secondary though, as they were clearly not tested. JT looked pretty good IMO. With some time, he'll develop into a great QB under Meyer's system. I agree that we need to open the offensive playbook, but I'll defend the Buckeyes by saying they clearly wanted to keep the game simple for JT's sake. The entire first half was conservative as fuck on offense (even for us), and that's okay! LOL FSU and LOL BAMA. I thought they were both going to lose. My body was ready. Next week is going to be rough.
  12. ^ aaaaaaaaaand this is how ESPN keeps the SEC relevant despite what should be a down year for them.
  13. That game was insane last night, new kid broke all of Johnny's records in his first game. Not sure if I'm convinced TAMU is the real deal, or South Carolina is just really that bad. Personally, I think it's the latter. They lost a lot on both sides of the ball this year.
  14. I would prefer what we have, and that's not a homer answer. The down years like for USC, Alabama, Miami, etc., would be absolutely AWFUL.

  16. Screenie'd. Rich Rod's WVU might have done it, but I don't see the current WVU standing a chance. On the subject of conferences beating themselves up, I think the Big XII is going to absolutely be a victim of this. Oklahoma will have at least one loss (if nothing else, then Texas, they can't beat Texas even if Texas can't beat their freakin' band), possibly two, as will Baylor and Oklahoma State. I just don't see anyone running the table in the Big XII. Hell, the SEC is probably going to be hurting itself this year too. This might be like 2008(?) when a 2 loss team wins the championship, or is elected to the playoff. The 4 team selection is going to be riddled with bullshit and favoritism. As much as I'm looking forward to Oregon vs. MSU, I think it's a damn shame that these two play each other in the regular season, because both of these teams have a fair shot at going undefeated this year, outside of this game. MSU's road is a little easier, of course, but if Oregon can keep their emotions and morale in check while staying healthy (big key here), they can hang 50 on absolutely anyone. These first two weeks are going to set the tone for this year like never before, IMO.
  17. I'm honestly expecting us to drop after this week, win or loss, regardless of score. Va Tech will be the game for us to prove our worth to the voters.
  18. Bros, We have made it. T-minus 8 hours and 46 minutes to kickoff of the 2014 season. Any non-OSU (just for some other discussion) picks for the upcoming season? I REALLY like Oregon, if Mariota can stay healthy and they can beat Michigan State (to clarify, I WANT MSU to win this game to make our conference look better, but if Oregon wins, I think they're in a great position to make the tournament). FSU controls their own destiny for a repeat, as the ACC is a joke this year. Something something SEC something 2 teams in the tournament. 6 PM cannot come soon enough. I'm ready to leave work already and start drinking, lol.
  19. OSU 34 Navy 17 (and for bonus points, 10 of these are scored in the 4th quarter against our second string)
  20. So, I never synced my CoC to Google+, and my old phone broke. New phone wants me to start fresh... ...so I'm gonna join the CR clan. TH1 represent!
  21. You may or may not have saved my cookout this Saturday. I owe you a beer.
  22. Thursday can't come soon enough. Cheers all, here's to a great season!
  23. Perfect, thanks Scott. Voted NTR, I'll be buying a spot either way though.
  24. Can someone define "loose tech" in relation to bikes? Never dragged on the bike, and as such, I only have a proper jacket and helmet and gloves, no boots or pants. I'd love to pop my cherry and race if that's good enough.
