  1. Messed up title, meant best full catback LOL. Anyway, my current exhaust is starting to crack towards the muffler (also has a massive hole in it, which has been patched but seems to be spreading), and looks like it might snap sometime relatively soon. Anyone have any recommendations on what the best ORY pipe system would be for daily use? (Don't mind loud noise at all if that helps). Just figured I might as well go full exhaust since it's going to need new piping anyway, so any help is greatly appreciated!
  2. I'll be out with my Trans Am, may bring my dad along with his '80 Triumph TR8, might as well get to know people on here, in person LOL.
  3. Will it be cheapest to get headers/true duals both installed at the same time, or separately? Car currently has high flow cats, would it increase performance to drop them?
  4. This definitely seems much cheaper, and puts out the power I'd ideally be looking for at the moment, so I'll do this. How cheap can you get the FAST or LS6 intake? How much does it cost usually to have a shop do 2.5' true duals would you assume? I definitely like the idea of those.
  5. Pretty much stock, high flow cats, some muffler put on by the previous owner, and plugs/ 9.5mm wires lol.
  6. How much did you spend for that power? I still have payments for classes, insurance, gas, etc lol, I'll save all summer but doubt I'll have more than 2k roughly to blow on a cam and supporting mods
  7. This, and I don't want Forced Induction at the moment, at least not for a while lol.
  8. Ok, I'll check that cam out, and get a quote here soon. Where would be somewhere to get used parts? And thanks to everyone for the help, not looking to get this until mid-to late summer, but it's good to know how much I need to put aside for the upgrade, and what parts are the best in this scenario
  9. 71 was a pain this morning on my commute to class, traffic moved insanely slow lol, didn't see many off's tho surprisingly.
  10. What kind of power gains did you get with that cam?/What else does it need than is provided in the package (minus injectors and a tune)?
  11. All of the above lol, and just a cam that's daily useable all year round, but relatively cheap. I'm hoping to budget 1500-1700 or so if that helps narrow it down
  12. So basically anywhere from $1500-$2000 for a mild (daily driver) type cam, valves, springs, etc, and tune, plus labor? I'm looking for a decent power gain, hopefully 40-50rwhp if that helps
  13. Anyone on here know what the average cost of a new cam install is for an LS1? I'm thinking about buying one this summer for my '00 Trans Am, and would more than likely have the work done at IPS, where my car's been worked on before. Seems like a good way to make easy power and torque, just iffy on the price of install
  14. Haha, I did that once at the end of summer. Had just bought my TA and was with a couple friends (one semi-knows cars, the other doesn't know squat), got to sawmill and parked, then the idiots made me drive off without gettin out of the car  haha hopefully I'll actually get to know people this summer since I'll be with a friend and his S2000/LS1 Camaro anyway.
  15. ^^^^^This. My Aunt has a '10 with the CVT, it's a sweet car and decent for the money, but not really a thrill to drive if you're ever in the mood for some fun driving, plus it feels like a Prius since it doesn't sound like it ever shifts. G37's are what the Maxima should be, RWD or AWD, same engine, better chassis. Much better buy for around the same money, I'd say do that.
  16. JW, how do I get access to the rest of the forums, I have to be approved, right?

I read the posting pics section and tried to copy those instructions but apparently I've done something wrong. Photobucket is here... http://s1262.photobucket.com/albums/ii601/brendo389/
  18. Hey all, I'm new to this site, got referred over here by some fellow LS1Tech users so I figured I'd introduce myself. I drive a 2000 Pontiac Trans Am 6 speed manual in Navy Blue Metallic with T-Tops, has just a bit over 73,000 miles on the odometer as of now, and is my DD. I am a student at Columbus State Delaware, transferring into OSU main Fall semester, and tend to be out driving as often as I can. I bought the car for $6,500 (2 summers worth of saving) in September. It's a 2 previous owner car and is in overall excellent shape mechanically, and cosmetically. Currently the car has Magnaflow cats, 9.5MM plug wires and iridium plugs, and a Flowmaster muffler that came installed with the car when I bought it. No huge plans for the near future as of now, only plan on getting a Diablosport programmer, new lid, and the full SLP Loudmouth 1 system. I hope to get to know more of you all, and am sure I'll see some of you out driving! 1 Question, anyone know how to post pics? I'd want to take them off of my LS1Tech account if that's possible... http://ls1tech.com/forums/member.php?u=211180
