i might argue the subaru reliebility factor.... but we seem to be talking used cars. I mean the BRZ would be a contender if we are talking the 20,000 plus price points, but i have seen Rx8s auctioned for less than 5000.

engines go great in FBs! With that, the 04 and 05 models are to be avoided. They had the second gear issue amoung other things.

is there a central page for all the TSD and road rally stuff in ohio? I see old posts about events, but nothing very informative for future stuff.

im not familiar with the CORC forest rally. is it a TSD?

thats awesome your dad participated! Perhaps he knows the people who held the event in the past or has information from it? I have been trying to start a data base of rally information, stories, memorabilia, etc.

Curious how many rally oriented folks we having floating around here. This can be road rally, TSDs, rallycrossers or stage rally. Trying to get an idea what the base is. I have been organizing a rally out in Idaho for a few years and since im moving back to ohio sooner than later, I have been kicking around the idea of brining back a rally to Ohio. Perhaps the sameish event as Sunriser that ran under the SCCA Prorally years. This event was run from the evening into the morning. This format would be unique in the country, but possibley not fiesable to put on. But that is a discussion for a later time. I have considered doing a TSD version of the Sunriser as you need view human cones. First go might be a rally sprint under NASA rallysport. Essentially one or two stages ran several times. Its cheaper, takes less man power and would be a good way to ease in the event in.

the forum out in Idaho, were im currently stationed, is very dedicated to autocrossing. They actually have a class called IMS (idahomotorsports) for people who just wanna race and have a variety of modifications that would otherwise put them in one of the too many classes they might not be competitive in. While I am a huge opponent of the make new classes so everyone can win and have rainbows and sunshine, it is just easier.

i am not thrilled with the new cars. Plus concept cars arent too conceptual anymore. Its basically just unattractive versions of whats coming out anyway. Nothing demonstrating the engineer's creativity.

I am here to incubate in this sub-forum. With that, grew up in Mentor, currently in Idaho, coming back to Mentor somewhat soonish. I've owned too many cars (40ish), mostly Rx7s. Been into rallying for a while now. Organized the Idaho rally for going on three years outside Boise and mingle with the surrounding events. I have an 82 Rx7 that is a group 2 rally car, should be racing in said Idaho Rally this year, once im home. also own a 90 Galant GSX and a 96 Impreza coupe. currently deployed.
