  1. HF hand tools all have lifetime warranties, so unless you need something made of a stronger metal (probably using the wrong tool if you do), I'd go that route. I'm also not a mechanic, so YMMV, but by no means am I easy on my tools. Just my $0.02, which I saved by buying most of my tools at HF
  2. I bought a large B&M cooler from Jegs for < $60. I'm running it in series with the stock cooler. '07 WRX w/ 4EAT. If your stock cooler is clogged, you can just run the cooler as a standalone.
  3. Trying to pop a wheelie? (Sorry, can't find a clip from the Family Guy episode)
  4. Sean Barwick. He goes up to Sawmill from time to time, and he's gone on a High St cruise with a group of us at least once. Pretty cool guy.
  5. Maybe in the spring. GLWS.
  6. It's not about feeling safe, it's about having a fighting chance. I can't find the video, but there was a shop owner (watch repair I think?) that was in 3 self defense shootings at his store. I take his philosophy, which was something like this: I'd rather go out fighting than depend on the good nature of the guy pointing a gun at you. That being said, if you are carrying a gun, that doesn't mean you have to use it. And just because someone may get the drop on you doesn't mean you won't have a chance to defend yourself (hint: people do it successfully all the time because most crooks are cowards and don't want to get shot over a few bucks). The great thing about 'Murica is that it's your choice. Just don't go trying to legislate it on me. Back to the topic, I don't think the training should be required, especially since most people can open carry or use lethal force to defend themselves without a firearm without getting an Ohio License to Carry a Concealed Handgun.
  7. Fast forward to last week, I just happened to be cruising Craigslist and saw a decent deal on a motor and carbs from a guy up near Ashley. He offered to give me everything he had, delivered to me, for just the cost of the motor, which should give me everything I need, and then some, to get the bike running again. Once I get some space back in the garage, I'm hoping to start transplanting the motor, buying any little things I need, and getting it moving. Once that's done, I may work on trying to fix up the old motor (bore it, port the heads, etc) and put it back in, but we'll see.
  8. I should have junked this or passed it off a long time ago, but I got a hell of a deal on a donor bike recently, so it looks like this thorn in my side may finally see the road once again. But first, some history... I originally bought this bike back in August 2007 from a guy in Fostoria (through eBay) to replace my 2006 Ninja 250 that was totaled earlier that year: When I went to pick it up and ride it back to Westerville, the guy said there was an issue with the coolant temperature gauge and trip meter, but that everything else should be fine. I made it all the way to the north part of Delaware before it died and coolant started spewing all over the place from the top of the radiator. I let it sit for a while at the end of a driveway for a while to let it cool down, during which time someone knocked it over: Since it wouldn't stay running for more than a few minutes, I got it towed back to my apartment and eventually got it torn down: which is where I saw what appeared to be the problem (coolant overflow line was nowhere to be found): After tearing it down some more, I found it tucked under the gas tank near the air box: I got it reconnected easily enough: but unfortunately the damage was done: I was hoping it was just the head gasket, but it turned out to be a cracked block. Some time later, I bought a replacement motor from a guy on Craigslist and had a buddy put it in for me. It idled fine: but had issues under load. I assumed it was due to the new carbs not being jetted (K&N filter + exhaust already on the bike), so I planned on putting the old carbs on the new motor and everything would be set. Unfortunately between not having a long enough screwdriver, having a kid, moving, and losing the long screwdriver that I bought during said move, it didn't happen right away. After about 3 years sitting outside under a (crappy) tarp, it finally made its way inside a garage and got the carbs pulled: buuuuuuuut the heads are flooded/rusted: http://i0.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/original/000/000/578/1234931504682.jpg
  9. +1. I finally replaced the one I lost when my last compressor was stolen, but never had any issues with it other than the gauge wasn't 100% accurate.
  10. Pretty sure you should be putting out about 20x the current (90+ amps depending on the vehicle). I vote for a new alternator.
  11. Any links? Might pitch this idea to the wife, although then I'll one a bigger one for myself...

    flea issues

Baking soda on the carpet, vacuuming, and dish soap + water in a pie pan (like $1 for 3 at Kroger) has been working for me. I also hear fleas can't survive with < 50% humidity, so a dehumidifier may help if you have one.
  13. Loving this picture: http://waggz.smugmug.com/Other/Fall-Columbus-Racing-Track-Day/i-V7LVKQH/0/S/IMG_2488.jpg I knew it launched hard, but didn't realize the front was that close to lifting :fuckyeah:
  14. Best pass was 13.19 @ 103 with a 1.78 60' in the morning. Seemed to be pretty consistent 13.3 @ 102 the rest of the day, aside from me trying a few things, hitting boost cut once or twice, and 125 degree IATs. Goal was < 13.5, hoping for 13.25 or better, so I'm happy
