  1. I shaved a little more than 0.2 seconds off my 1/4 mile time just by shifting from 1st to 2nd at about 5k or so which I think put me between 3k and 4k once I hit 2nd. This is with a 4EAT and a TD04 (stage 2 @ 19.5 psi) though. If only I could do the same for 2nd to 3rd, I should be able to break 13.5 and 100 mph pretty easily. Based on Patterson's math, I say shift @ 5500-6000 in every gear.
  2. 13.78 @ 98.04. My goal was low 14s, so I'm happy :fuckyeah: but I guess that means I'll have to start wearing the helmet depending on how hard I launch it Glad it turned out alright.
  3. I've got one sitting in the garage somewhere, but not sure when I'd be able to grab it. I think I bought it from Iron Pony when I replaced my chain.

I carry one every day. Always goes bang even if it hasn't been cleaned or lubed in months, which is part of why I bought it. Just figure out which magazine you are comfortable with. I personally go with the 13 rounders since they don't print as much. Backup mags (if I decide to carry any) are 16 rounders. I usually carry it in either a Blackhawk Serpa or Comp-Tac MTAC depending on dress/weather.
  5. No, defense. The rest of your argument is invalid. Do you know how much shot is in a single shell? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shotgun_shell#Shot_sizes. Depending on the spread, I'd argue 6-40 pieces of .22" - .36" shot per pull of the trigger > rapid fire semi-auto. Better ban those under/over guns, too. Just like Chicago and DC? How about the previous AWB that I guess was never challenged in court? :gabe: You think? :lolguy:
  6. Aside from paying $65/month off contract for 3 mbps down / 0.5 mbps up for just DSL, it's alright. Unfortunately our only other options are cellular, satellite, or dial-up. We also have DirecTV, so we get a $5 discount.
  7. :fuuuu: I don't care what progress they've made (http://www.dot.state.oh.us/districts/D06/projects/71/Pages/default.aspx), it's still a clusterfuck.
  8. If you're talking about Beekist Meats east of 605 (just before Green Cook), it's a pizza place now
  9. Those bullet prices sound like either you're loading JHP ($1/round if you buy a 20 round box, maybe $0.50/round if you buy a box of 50) or getting bent over on FMJ prices. Aumiller's in Westerville sells plated FMJ (Berry's I think) for $11 or $12 per 100. If you look hard, you can find 1,000 for $75-$90 online, but you may have to order 4,000 or more at a time. I think the going rate for a box of 50 FMJ is between $10 and $12 ($0.20-$0.24/round) depending on the cases used. Last I updated my spreadsheet, it costs me about $16.39 for 100 rounds. Also, keep an eye on Vance's website. Sometimes they have CCI primers as cheap as $26.99. Plus, if you pick it up in store, there's no hazmat fee. I use about 4.7 grains of Winchester 231 powder on my 9mm rounds, so it costs closer to $0.014/round if I buy a 1 pound jug. Bottom line for the OP, it's best to buy in bulk and wait for the good deals. But don't be surprised when you're putting down hundreds of dollars at a time for components.
  10. Whatever you do, don't go single stage. At a minimum, go with a turret so you don't have to keep swapping dies. If you're somewhat mechanically savvy, you might be fine with buying a progressive and loading either 1 round or 1 step at a time at first. Otherwise in a month you'll be ready to shoot yourself over how much time it takes to load 100 rounds start to finish once you get everything setup the way you want, and you'll have to spend even more money on a new press. If you're on the Ohioans for Concealed Carry forum, you may want to consider attending a reloading group meeting (http://www.ohioccwforums.org/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=39977&start=405). Next one is scheduled for December 1st. Also, consider checking out some of the posts in their Handloading forum (http://www.ohioccwforums.org/viewforum.php?f=22). As for equipment, I'm partial to Lee presses (I have a Loadmaster progressive) because they're inexpensive but not necessarily cheap. FS Reloading has pretty good prices. I prefer the RCBS decapping dies, but if you have the Lee one adjusted correctly it should be fine. For the rest of the dies I have both RCBS and Lee, and have no issues with either so far. Just make sure you get carbide for the pistol sizing dies so you don't have to lube the cases.
  11. +1 on probably needing a new battery. I'm not sure if the Optimas behave the same way when they bite the dust, but the last battery I had to replace on my Accord (Duralast Gold which lasted 7-8 years of daily driving) started off like that, then got to the point of not holding a charge at all within a few days. That one tested bad right off the bat when I took it to AutoZone. However, within a week of buying my WRX, I started having the same problem, but when I took it to AutoZone it tested fine. Carried a jump pack around with me and had to jump it if it sat more than a few hours. Within a few days, it wouldn't hold a charge for more than a few minutes, then not at all. Took it back to AutoZone, tested bad that time. Popped in a new Duralast Gold and it's worked fine ever since. Still waiting on a check for reimbursement from Byers though.
  12. Or you could just get an MTAC :dumb:
  13. Mileage? I think my 99 Accord was getting squeak from something in the struts at some point (they were completely dead for a while), but that was probably north of 170k (I think it's around 220k now).

Good point. Fortunately, location of the ammo or the magazine/speedloader, as long as it's empty, doesn't matter if you have a CCW/CHL/OLTCACH since the law changed last year (see 2923.16(F)(5)). Sitting on the seat next to you with ammo rolling around with it would be fine, but definitely not the best place for it. If you can't resist peer pressure then maybe you shouldn't be carrying a gun :gabe: Just kidding! But seriously though, just say no. Sometimes my wife forgets I'm carrying, and she'll try to get me to try one of her drinks. It goes a little something like this: If they really want to buy you a beer, and you really want to drink, have them buy you a six-pack and take it back to your place If you're an alcoholic, maybe. See 2923.13(A)(4), which is an F3, and is the basically same thing Phil would get charged with :lolguy: If you're carrying and drink in a bar/restaurant that serves, that would be a felony (see 2923.121, F3 if it's concealed, F5 if it's not), but not because of a weapons disability. Dunno about that. My understanding is that the federal definition is the receiver, so the frame part with the serial number and trigger on a semi-auto, and the frame without the cylinder on a revolver. However, I'm not sure exactly what part(s) Ohio law would consider to be the actual firearm. You can check out 2923.11 if you're curious.

No. See ORC 2923.16 sections (D) and (E)(1): However, if an officer determines you're under the influence, you could still catch an M1 for 2923.15 - Using weapons while intoxicated. Bingo.
  16. If you're okay with junk yard stuff, I'd try Universal on McKinley (http://www.uap-oh.com). According to their site, they have one for $45 vs ~$235 + core from AutoZone. I bought an entire rear sub-frame, including the suspension, for a rear disc conversion on my 99 Accord LX for less than $200, including paying one of their guys to drive it out to me. I did have to buy new calipers though (one was leaking, the other was seized if I remember correctly). When I finally replaced the struts, I was able to use a bunch of the hardware from the suspension components that came with it instead of having to order straight from Honda. I also bought a wiper motor + transmission for $20 or $30 that works fine.

  18. I'd check on that. It was my understanding that townships can really only create zoning restrictions and that you can't really restrict discharge of firearms through zoning laws. I was trying to find a cite, but wasn't able to come up with anything. Maybe this just applies to any public areas like a park or other non-privately-owned township land?
  19. Yeah, we both go up there most Fridays. He's the one with cutouts :grin2:
  20. My name is Dan and I live on the edge of Johnstown (Delaware County side). I've been going to the meets at Home Depot on Sawmill for a while with a buddy (thfchris) and went to the track day at National Trail Raceway with him this past Friday, so I figured it's probably time for me to do my intro. I'm into both cars and motorcycles and prefer to do my own work. Until about 2 weeks ago, I drove a 1999 Honda Accord LX (2.3L VTEC) 5-speed: http://carphotos.cardomain.com/ride_images/1/2026/3621/5064310032_large.jpg My wife's car is falling apart, so now she gets the Accord (with 218k miles) and I bought a 2007 Subaru Impreza WRX Limited about two weeks ago. As far as I know, it's all stock except for what appears to be blue DOT4 brake fluid :ninja: These are the only photos I've taken so far: I'd like to get it up to ~300 HP through tuning and bolt-ons, but I'm in no hurry. As for motorcycles, I've got a 2005 Honda Shadow VLX Deluxe: and a 1997 Honda CBR600F3 that's been sitting for too long: Just for good measure, here's a few videos from Friday: And last but not least, a rabbit with a pancake on its head: http://i1.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/original/000/007/445/pancake_bunny.jpg
