  1. Lol, not gonna happen. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  2. That thing is clean. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  3. Definitely doesn't restrict it too much for a cam, but if you are moving up to a higher power band, intake/exhaust would help. Yours is an LS2, it may have LS3 heads like my L76 though. Pricing would be the same, maybe cheaper because you don't have to eliminate DOD. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  4. Derek gave me a good price on MasterCraft M/T's. I hadn't asked about the A/T. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  5. Yep. Appreciate it. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  6. Yep, exactly as she sits. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  7. Lol, I was waiting for you to comment, almost put your name in the title... What are you running these days? The duratracs? Those are A/T's ?!! I'll check them out paging Derek, lol. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  8. Trying to decide on tires for the 4runner. Size will likely be 285/75/16 (33"), as the power doesn't allow for any larger. It's still a nice upgrade over the 265/70/16's currently on it. Question is, all terrain or mud? I'll still be DDing it for the foreseeable future, but I only put 6-8 miles on it round trip. I plan some designated trips to the 4x4 parks, so I want it to be capable. I'm not as interested in mud bogging as just being able to tackle any rough terrain. Does anyone have any recommendations on an all terrain that was very capable off road, or do I go full m/T? Derek gave me some good prices on some m/t's. Options are: 1. Go full M/T and drive it everyday. 2. Just upgrade to a larger a/t and hope they serve me well on the trails. 3. Get a cheap set of steelies for new M/T's, and run my current a/T's until it's time for new tires and upgrade to larger a/t's for everyday driving. (Last option doesn't excite me strictly from a looks aspect, as I'm ready for larger tires now, lol) Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  9. Not exciting upgrades, but necessary, and one step closer to off-road ready. She will be taken off road this summer. Next up is installing the 1" body lift, mostly to replace worn out body mounts. Then 33's.
  10. While the battery and alternator were out, I decided to install the thermostat that has been riding in the passenger floor board for a few months (doesn't work for shit there, FYI). These motors are notorious for air lock, so since I ended up with a thermostat that didn't have a failsafe hole in it, I added one. 1/8" bit. Used the cheap hose clamp pliers I picked up at AutoZone, worked mediocre, slowed it to a drip but didn't stop it. Took her for a test drive to check the coolant and alternator with torque, and all is well.
  11. I then upgraded the wire to the fuse box to a 4 gauge, and wrapped everything up. Install didn't go too badly, I fought a bit with a rusty old tensioner bolt. It bent on me while trying to back it out, but I was able to put it in the vice and get it freed up with the help of pb blaster. After getting the alternator installed, I decided to finish the wiring upgrade with new chassis and engine grounds. The stock wires were puny. I also picked up a couple marine terminals to replace the crusty old ones.
  12. Revival. The runner has been on the back burner lately, due to the G8 saga. It's still been plugging away as my DD, until I tried to jump a bad battery and burnt up the alternator. Is this bad? Good news is, time for an upgrade!! Because I plan to add a winch, maybe an amp, and maybe an inverter, a bigger alternator makes sense. A popular mod is the c144 alt from a 1995 Cadillac Fleetwood with windshield heater. It has a higher idle amp at about 90-100 vs stock 4runner at 40. The peak amps are caddy 150, 4runner 85. So it's a significant improvement, and much more affordable than the $400 aftermarket alts. With an advance Auto coupon, I was able to get a reman and harness for about $115 including core charge. Check out the difference in size: Only a few modifications are necessary, one being a spacer for the upper bracket, and the other being the new wiring harness. After removing the old one, I decided to attack the harness. The wires are a bit different, but the new plug is labeled, and I have schematics for the 4runner. The F is the sense wire S is the field/ignition L is the lamp And P is the stator wire, used for old school tachs, which won't be used. I decided on weather tight spades in case I want to uninstall or switch at some point. Then wrapped in weather proof tape.
  13. Damn, those are half the price of my redwings. I like the pull on, but I'll have to check out these side zips. Where do you try yours on?(store) Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  14. Same offer I made to Vinny for CR, $9k as it sits, no more negotiating/dropping. It's going to CarMax as soon as I get time. Whole lotta car for $9,000 and a few parts. Could probably flip even. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  15. I would go with one of the reputable G8 builders, most have a dod delete package, then a separate package with appropriate cam, springs, etc.... Texas speed example: Pace performance is also good, and in Ohio. Livernoise is well known but pricier. Lots of options for the$1,500 and below range. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  16. Then buy it! Lol. Vinny is contemplating, I get it, not everyone is looking for a"project", but he's been great to work with thus far. I'm just trying to be very straight forward with CR peeps. I hate to turn it in to CarMax, but that's where she's heading if no one commits by Monday. I'm either spending a few bucks on the 4runner and saving the rest toward a home down payment, or..... Buying an f100 and protouring suspension kit for autocross this year. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  17. I really do love these cars, it's just time to move on. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  18. He's/we're still working on a solution/decision. I swapped the coils and wires between 3 & 5, and the misfire still showed on cylinder 5. Took about 15 miles to show up. Price is dropping, someone get this car out of my driveway! At this price point, you could swap the entire engine and still be below market value. I'd just throw a cam and dod delete at it and be done. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  19. Awesome, we are house shopping (wife is, I'm garage shopping), and the 4 post storage/service is exactly what I'm looking for. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  20. So, got a random P0305 yesterday, misfire on cylinder 5. New plugs, new cai filter, new battery, oil change, new wipers (not installed). Nurkvinny and I took it for a good drive yesterday, no codes, and ran good. Took it to Firestone this morning for my lifetime alignment, I wanted to be able to show a buyer that there is no alignment issues with the accident history. Alignment is done, they confirmed that it needs rear subframe bushings, which is a common G8 upgrade. (Aussie2k can probably comment on this). Basically, I do not have time to mess with selling/fixing the car, we're selling/home shopping and I want a new project. If someone on CR wants it, I will sell this weekend for $10k, and POSSIBLY talk about repair cost adjustments as well. Nurkvinny has first dibs, but you won't find a better G8 for this kind of price. I just wanted full disclosure to CR about what you are buying. You could put significant money into this car and still be below market. So, $10,000 possible negotiation, this weekend or it goes to CarMax. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  21. Looks great, glad you found something that you like! Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  22. No words..... Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  23. Lol, at times I feel a little guilty about it. Definitely the best vehicle purchase I've made monetarily. If it makes you feel any better, it did set in my garage for almost a year with the heads torn off. What are you looking for specifically? Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  24. So Steve-o ran the history, and it shows airbag deployment in 2009. Just so everyone on CR is informed. Hopefully someone is looking for a cheap G8 and is willing to overlook the history. I've never had any major issues with the car outside the normal G8 service bulletins (control arm replacement). Make an offer! I found an f100 I'm interested in. 25. I'll wholesale you a Toyota 4runner for $3k! Not sure what the catch is, but these guys always seem to be lower than other advertising. Inventory seems pretty boring, but maybe not for a family dinner. https://www.columbuscarwarehouses.com/mobile/mDefault.aspx Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
