  1. My buddy found this one around Marengo: Very clean. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  2. They can't all be cleetus! Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  3. Are there specific combos that had trailing arms, or all 62-72? I Definitely want coils on all 4. This truck looks pretty solid, nothing much to do aesthetically, just move right into suspension and motor. http://www.classiccardeals.com/Listing/172377/1965-Ford-F100.aspx Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  4. I should clarify, $15k is really more than I want to dump right away, but would for the right set up. Everyone is posting nice trucks/deals, but I really want to stay in the 62-72 era. 62-67 if possible.
  5. Understood. That's why I want a driver, so I can still enjoy the truck a bit between wrenchings. I'm looking at about $15k to start, then just do a piece here and there. Thinking about a turbo 5.3 eventually, as they are much cheaper. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  6. No opinions from the Geetster!?? I was hoping for some specifics on what makes one more expensive (options etc..), or what features are more conducive to my project. I've seen most of those trucks, anything jump out at you? The black one in Lexington is Definitely priced Right, there's just something about the paint that scares me. Does it look like the emblems and everything are just sprayed over? Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  7. Sounds pretty perfect. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  8. I really like that truck for a useable truck with character, but not quite the classic body lines I'm looking for this project. Most of the 70's+ trucks get a bit square and bigger. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  9. I go through this constantly with the 4runner. I've had people offer 5 times what I paid for it, but I just can't replace it for that. It's not that special of a vehicle, but it has just enough character and capability to keep me interested. I'd love to have a 5th gen 4runner or newer pickup, but I'm just not ready for the payment. My solution is to add another project DD to the stable (similar to someone else I know). When I'm modifying one I can drive the other. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  10. Going for something along these lines. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  11. I've decided on a classic pickup to replace the G8, with a little twist. I really like the "protouring" trend with classic cars. My basic goal is an autocross F100 or C10, so suspension on all four corners and an LS swap. Basic things I'm looking for are: 1. Under $15k, or under $10k if it isn't already modified in the direction I'm wanting. 2. Not looking for a show truck, but prefer it not need a lot of body work. I'm fine with "patina" but no rust holes. 3. I seem to be drawn to the 62-67 body styles, especially the F100's with the sweeping front fenders. But, I'm open to good deals on anything 62-72. Prefer something without a lot of chrome trim/cladding. Not interested in big fender 50's trucks. 4. I would prefer it be in good driving condition. Basically an occasional DD that I could jump in and drive. 4.standard transmission if possible, it's just that much less to swap/modify. So school me on why I see trucks that look very similar to me, yet vary from $6k-20k? Is there a line of truck that's easier to modify in the suspension area?(coils on all four corners). Should I be looking at a$12k truck that already has a crown Vic front end like this: https://dayton.craigslist.org/cto/d/1965-f100-pickup-short-box/6600037497.html Or a $6k stockish driver: https://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/d/1966-f100-short-bed/6602642888.html Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk

Thanks, I Definitely like the car, I'll talk to the wife. It seems to fit the bill for what we're looking for, I don't know much about reliability with these though? Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk

What is the back seat room like? Would it handle two car seats on occasion? Looking for a cheap DD for the wife on days she has to travel to Dayton etc... Tired of racking up miles on the gl450. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  14. Big thanks to Verse for getting me a great price on a factory lower ball joint assembly. Passenger axle boot finally blew, so I'll be knocking out both at the same time. The first "budget" item bit me, so I ordered new hd uniball upper ball joints for the eBay uca's. I also may have found a replacement for the G8, so I'll be back to two vehicles. Makes it a lot easier to get work done on one. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  15. Yep, finally found them online: Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  16. That's the plan, just thought I'd ask. They are for selecting generator power on a bank of elevators, FYI. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  17. Does anyone have an idea of what type of wire terminations I need to attach to these? Right now I'm planning on soldering to them, but if anyone happens to know, I'd appreciate it. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  18. Not sure, you tell me, lol. I know it needs to be worth someone's time. I had/have full intentions of welding it up myself, just not sure when I'm going to be able to get that done. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk

  20. My front bumper arrived for the 4runner. I plan to weld it up myself but my welder isn't in Columbus and I'm way out of practice. If anyone on CR is interested for a reasonable price, I'd pay to get it done more quickly. The kit is all notched and made to be packed up on the truck as a jig. Pretty easy for an amateur welder from what I've read. It's a Coastal off-road bumper. https://www.coastaloffroad.com/product-page/3rd-gen-4runner-high-clearance-plate-bumper-1 Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk

  22. All I heard was, "replaced full time income with 10-15 hrs per week".......... What's the problem?? Lol On a serious note, have you thought about talking to some local builders/contractors? Most don't have the tech know-how, or resources to install this stuff. You could probably pick up quite a few jobs for people that are updating anyway. It's who you know not what you know. 24. Wouldnt be my choice, but If we are strictly talking about impressing the non automotively educated masses, any "luxury" car from the 00's with 100k on it. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  25. I think we are just thinking about this from two slightly different scenarios. Like any legal issue, it would have to be handled on a case by case basis. You are correct about the storage of a gun and defense. I'm saying that you are responsible to give that up if your kid shows signs of being unstable. Being a parent is a huge responsibility that is too easy to coast through, and 9 out of 10 children will get "enough" guidance to be a somewhat productive member of society.
