  1. Not always true, man. It's urban myth that this always works. For this serious of an offense, I'd bet my lunch money that a)the cop will be there or b) the judge will postpone it until the cop can be there.
  2. Google it to be sure, but it used to be 6.
  3. 4 points for wreckless op. I think it used to be 6, but others here say it has always been 4. If you can afford it, lawyer up. Also, I'm not sure you can fight the tint. Doesn't that fall into the "it's not illegal to own a car with X, it's illegal to drive a car with X." Like loud/off road exhaust, no front plates, etc. You can own a car with that shit, you can't operate it on a public road though. Hope I'm wrong.
  4. Fake Oakleys. Everytime I see them at a swap meet, I buy 2 or 3 for $15. That usually lasts until the next Summer. Actually bought 3 cases of 10 a few years back and gave and/or sold them off to friends.
  5. Did some bardering huh?
  6. I assumed the pics were from different dates. Sooo, let me rephrase. OP, did you just lower it, orrrrr was it a project some other time? Either way, stance looks great now.
  7. Signals don't light/flash at all, or dash stays solidly lit?

    New Car

Isn't this the 4th or 5th thread you have started about how great new imports are?
  9. Did you lower it at the same time? Or, are there some crazy camera angle differences?
  10. Not buying it yet. I'll have to dig into that one man. I still don't think you can just take an existing tag off of a currently registered car and slap it onto a new-to-you car, while retaining ownership of the old car. Let me clarify (maybe better this time) what I was saying is you can't take a plate off of a car you are keeping, take it with you to buy a car, and drive the "new" car around on the other car's plate. Which, I think, is what the OP was asking. PS, I hate the BMV.
  11. Thank God this dumbass fad if fading. Went from cheap high school to classy.
  12. Anyone know of any newer sites that sell race cars, fast street cars, muscle cars, etc? Racingjunk seems to have way fewer cars nowadays. Craigslist also seems to be failing as far as fun DD cars and cool projects. I follow LS1tech, corvette forums, here, CL, RJ, just can't find anything that appeals to me.
  13. Good for you. Now, try it all Summer long for multiple years, and then come back. BTW, was he running wrinkle-wall street slicks? A spool is a spool is a spool. It makes zero difference how fast the car is. I've had full spools, mini spools, welded spiders, auburn conical units, Detroit lockers, Ford units, GM units, and open carriers. Can you run a spool and deal with it? Yep. Are there FAR better options? Absolutely. Spools are rougher on parts, and it doesn't sound like the OP is going to invest cash for top quality axles and bearings. <=== extra smiley to show pot stirring in fun, beer is good, and it's a pretty day. But, I concede that people run them and some have no issues at all.
  14. You are a couple of wild and crazy guys.
  15. From Auburn's own site (where they are selling their spools): "Full Auburn Gear spools are made from 4140 steel forging that is heat-treated and precision machined in the USA. Spools are strictly for drag-strip straight line racing use. They are not street legal, so do not use a spool if the vehicle is street driven as it could cause broken axle shafts and other problems." 16. Tire material more so than width. On my 18.5 MT's, I had very little problems, but most of the time, running the Quicktime 16.5's, it was Hell. Rock hard tires slide around pretty easily. Stickies suck and suck bad. Pat, every reply in this thread - from people who have actually ran spools - are telling you to avoid them. Sounds like you already had your mind made up? BTW, I snapped a passenger side axle while running the spool. Coincidence? Maybe.
  17. That is only if you sell the car the plates were on and buy a new car. It doesn't cover just buying an additional car and slapping plates on it from another one of your cars. I am guilty of it many, many times too. But, I almost got nailed for this last year after buying the GP, putting a plate off my other car on it (literally 2 days). Wife got pulled over and only got out of it because she was 8 months pregnant and had a toddler in the back. Not worth the risk. Wait until a day the bmv is open and go get tags.
  18. Do not do it. I ran a spool in my S10 for several Summers. You will hate life every time you are driving through a parking lot and having everyone watching the back of your ride hop around a corner while chirping/barking/squealing. They're just not worth the $ savings. If your main objective is budget, maybe.
  19. Yes, the notary is for the seller's signature. The notary should witness the seller sign. No, driving on other tags "even for a couple miles" is not legal. If caught, it's ficticious tags. Yes, you pay the tax (based on the county you live in, not the county you buy from) at the title office, plus a $15 fee. Admitting you dodged sales tax on a public forum is idiotic.
