  1. Alright, this just happened.... I was backing up in aparking lot, after driving home from my gf's house, and when i went to shift to 1st, the stick wouldn't move. It was stuck in reverse. I turned off/restarted the car, no change, backed up a litle more, no change, hit the gas hard enough to make teh wheels hop in reverse, no change. I tried forcing it, nothing. Finally, it just unstuck and i could shift. Anyone know what the hell that was? I really don't want it to happen again.

You mean "steal" ;) it for him, and run into stuff? Sounds like fun! WHO HAS A CAMERA?!?!?!?
  3. Audiobahn does make some good shit for pretty good prices. I've always liked them. But anyway, back to the topic at hand. I really don't think that you will be happy with the basslink. If you're afraid of weight, don't get bumps at all. The bass link is heaver than you would think too. Just get a single 12 with amp and box. Try www.sounddomain.com they have a good selection and cheaper-than-retail-store prices.

And yes, i know that there are nicer amps than MTX out there, but not in that price range.

Excellent is something like JL, Audio Art, American Bass, Eclipse, etc..

excellent compaired to anything that you can get at best buy circuit city, etc. the subwoofers may not hit as hard as a W7 but they cost roughly 1/4-1/3 as much. The amps (especially the class D amps) actually are very nice.

If I was going to go all out I wouldn't get MTX anyways.

I was just wondering if anybody had one. And how do they like it.

Ehhh, it was worth a try. :D Nothing wrong with MTX. They make excellent amps and sub woofers.
  6. The bass links do look good, and they have that passive radiator in addition to the driver. (10 inch i do believe) I would asume that SQ wise, they sounds pretty good, but i wouldn't be expecting mass amounts of SPL. Now, I have 2 12 inch MTX 8000's and a matching 81000D amplifier that i am selling. They will put the bass link and anything up to kappa perfects to shame. Check the garage sale section under "MTX for sale" for more info.
  7. If its a daily driver, i wouldn't go with 410's. It's gonna be too expensive. It's a lot of extra wear on the enine, not to mention gas costs. As if we both don't have to cough up enough to compensate for a V-8 as it is? I had some problems with my rear end too. Actually, it's been back to the dealership twice because of a clunking some where in the rearend. I didn't bother to mess with it myself, since it was a warranty issue. Anyway, i have a feeling that the 373's alone will make the car feel like an entirely different animal all together. But you're not alowed to get the gears until we have a chance to line em up. :D Speakin of which, Hooters tonight?
  8. I have 26K on my clutch and it feels just as sturdy as the day i bought the beauty. Not to be a dick, but i think the jerking is more human error, try letting out smooth and giving a bit more gas. Then again, you could just whole shot all the time.

1st gear, I get absolutely zero whine from my transmition (VERY little if any even in reverse). I wouldnt down shift to 1st unless you are doing 30 or less. But, you also have a different tranny than i do.

  9. If he's got any torque at all, and he cuts that much frame off, he is going to twist the frame. The car will more than likely start to sag too. There is no possible way that that much of the frame (and that is a very important section of frame) can be cut off with out reenforcement. if it isn't reenforced, it will be very very bad.
  10. Yeah, heavier. You're going to need to reenforce the crap out of your frame to keep the car from folding in half, let alone surviving a wreck. If you look in my dash (i saw it when i replaced my gauges) there is a huge metal tube. the tube alone looks like it weighs over 200 pounds. There's also extra reenforcement frame type stuff elsewhere on the body.

My vert stang weighs more than a coupe stang by a couple hundred pounds. I just think of it as free weight on the tires. ;)

  11. I already have flow masters. I don't think I'll do exhaust manifolds for a while yet. Those look like a bitch. The starter is RIGHT THERE! Yeah, my light finally came on. I ordered the mil eliminators. Hopefully they'll be in thursday. Almost ordered some lowering springs, but i managed to hold off. I do have a little will power.

Maybe the owner is defected? </font>Defected? that would mean that i requested asylum in another country. I hope you know what that means. And if you don't, go to www.dictionary.com and look it up, or rent ANY old cold-war movie. The one with robin williams is a goodie. I forget the title. And yes, the owner installed everything correctly.
