its not about autocross paul its about road racing. now i know i won't be able to race it every weekend or maybe more than 2-3 times a year for that matter but i could still autocross with it.

the only reason i don't want to use my car that i have is i don't want to trash it. i sold the camaro because i just couldn't do what i really wanted to do with it because of the car. i couldn't make it happen like i could with a 69 camaro (4 inches wider than a 67-68) i must not be seeing where all the costs are, plus i do all my own work so thats alot of money saved.

so after this years racing activities i have the itch to build a road race corvette. if i sell my car and pick up a high mile or salvage title C5 for half of what i sell my car for that leaves me with the other half for mods and a trailer. the first things on the mod list would be a cage, seats, suspension and aero mods (ricer wing and a splitter ect.) if i budget the money right and get some donated parts then i should be able to also rebuild the engine, upgrade the brakes and get tires. now if you had the funds, ability and tools to do it would you build a race car? i just don't know if i want to part with my current vette yet. i'm thinking something like this. http://image.vetteweb.com/f/29443227+w750+st0/vemp_0402_06_z+infineon_raceway_chevrolet_corvette_c5_r+grey_race_car.jpg i could also autocross it (as can ashley since she really likes it) from time to time.

i haven't had any problems either. i can tell you that the EBCM and Active Handling button i had ordered for a customer today is on back order, maybe its a C5 thing. if i remember i'll check to see about the cup holder, mine is missing too.
  16. but more than likely anal probe him.
  17. looks like a normal scuff that you see from time to time. if your finger nail catches then just a hone might not get it out.
  18. 18 or 22 gauge is more than enough for stainless for what your doing. 16 is way over kill
  19. i get about 16mpg city/highway/autocross LOL. normal highway is 30-32 in my Z. Ashley gets about 29-31 in her CTS-V highway. i also want to point out that i get 8-10mpg at nelson ledges haha
  20. there is an inline tool that will put the dye in it as well. hooks up between the high and low side fittings.
  21. those do work that way. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF. Attempt to start the engine, then release the key to ON (vehicle will not start). Observe the SECURITY telltale, after approximately 10 minutes the telltale will turn OFF. Turn OFF the ignition, and wait 5 seconds. The vehicle is now ready to relearn the Passlock™ Sensor Data Code and/or passwords on the next ignition switch transition from OFF to CRANK. Important: The vehicle learns the Passlock™ Sensor Data Code and/or password on the next ignition switch transition from OFF to CRANK. You must turn the ignition OFF before attempting to start the vehicle. Start the engine. The vehicle has now learned the Passlock™ Sensor Data Code and/or password. With a scan tool, clear any DTCs if needed. History DTCs will self clear after 100 ignition cycles.
  22. yeah i know, thats why i said to tap on it with a screw driver. tap inward. they are 2 pieces, switch is the electrical part and the cylinder is the key part with the passlock sensor. edit: also if your only replacing it because the key won't turn then you only need the ignition cylinder not the switch. you'll need to recode it to match your key as well.
