    Did you vote?

I didn't say only McCain at the top, I said one over the other. Mine was McCain at the top w/Obama at the bottom of the screen and in post #4 CBRJess posted her's the other way around. Flounder put to rest the flipping of candidates between top and bottom when he posted both McCain and Obama were closer to the middle on his.
  2. I'll be down as long as I can get a new bike to crash before then.

We ruled out alphabetical early in the thread.
  4. If you want something cheap search the interwebs for refurbished or re-certified point and shoots. There can be lots of good stuff to be found. I don't care for the store but Circuit City will sometimes have a table with returned items and often there is some decent stuff for cheap.

yeah definitely not in alphabetical order on the touch screen I saw.

That's kind of why it would be an issue. If they intentionally listed one candidate at the top and the other at the bottom it could cause problems for some voters. I think we've determined though it's not an issue.
  7. Ah yeah... I can see losing it on that one I guess
  8. Which turn was it? If it was said earlier int he thread I missed it sorry.

That's good to hear. Hopefully more people report things more like that. Having them only swapping between top and bottom of the screen would be crap.

I'm curious too. I'm almost tempted to created another poll if we get a wide mix. My wife said Obama was at the bottom of her's also.

No idea, you would think they would standardize something like. I guess It's too much to ask for them to actually put some thought into it. My only concern, no matter which way it was, is how the screen formats for those who need to use the larger display option.

Weird. I just expected to see both at the top.

    Did you vote?

Just a poll to see how many voted and what the experiences where. I waited to go vote early this morning right when the polls opened. The line built really fast and was pretty large by the time I got back out. Only took about 45 mins though. Everyone was in a good mood and it was a great experience overall. I used the touch screen ballot although they also had a paper option. The only thing I found a tad hinky was that McCain's name was at the top of the screen and Obama's at the bottom with 5 or 6 in between in that first column.
  14. I got up and voted early and am at work already. Doesn't matter who you vote for just get out and do it!
  15. yeah I already read that site and Newspapers are just businesses so their "opinions" don't mean much to me.
  16. So the "loophole" is in the event an indian casino opens in Ohio? So first the government would have to approve federal indian lands in Ohio and then they would have to build a casino. That is also forgetting that there are other taxes like sales and income taxes that will be injected as well. The "loophole" sounds like a bit of a stretch that could be closed even after the amendment is passed if need be.
  17. I think it's only because Article XV Section 6 already speaks of the Lottery and Bingo; other forms of "gambling"...
  18. Sonny Bono...ok that's funny I can't help but laugh. Good to hear she's ok though. Maybe Jarvis can give her some pointers.
  19. http://www.sos.state.oh.us/sos/upload/ballotboard/Casinoinitiative2007.pdf Yeah I'm not convinced on the whole loophole bit. Also, people need to be weary of the fact the primary opponent (No on 6) to this is another gaming company, Penn National Gaming (owers of Argosy). Another group that opposes this is Vote no Casinos and is nothing more than an anti-gambling group. There is a third group called 'UNITE Here' opposing this ballot which is a union group that has it's own motivations. So All three of the opponents running ads against this all have personal motives: - No on 6 is a competitor. - Vote no Casinos is opposed to any gambling period. - UNITE Here has its union to grow. The lottery and things like this Casino have never been put out there as the end all, be all to school funding problems. While they do help some, people under estimate just how much money is required to run public schools. I'm voting yes on this one. I can think of more than a few people that this will help not only down in Wilmington, but also with other markets in the area. After talking to some investors and others like Real Estate brokers I can see more good done than harm just to the economy it's self in surrounding areas. Oh and I like to gamble.
