  1. I heard that the hackers are saying it wasn't them? I haven't actually looked into it at all, I just know that of the 3 times I have tried to play on the psn with a certain group of friends it has been down every single time.

Anonymous is saying it wasn't their main group...this time. Sony says they are taking the extra time to make sure an attack like this one is less likely to happen again.

  2. I don't think Apple has anything to worry about, the UI on their products blows away the competetion. I wouldn't trade my iPad for a Galaxy Tab or Xoom or anything else.

The UI on the iPad is horrible. I've used both (iOS 4 and Honeycomb) considerably at this point. There's nothing great about a screen full of icons.

  3. Grown up math builds upon the basic building blocks of mathematics. I know nothing about grown up math....

It's alright one day you'll get to take those training wheels off. You just keep at it kid.

  4. You can't rewrite the problem to get the answer you want. As it's written (poorly or not) the answer is clearly 288. :D

You just keep clinging to those simple rules created as a guide for school children and basic math. Things get harder when you grow up and have to do grown up math. :D

  5. A more complex system still follows the basic principals of mathematics. Nothing makes the answer 2. True story. This isn't even 8th grade math. This is more like 4th grade.

Except you're wrong. :D Well it is more like 4th grade math, but the answer is 2, ignoring the fact it isn't well written to begin with of course.

  6. Did you explain to them why the answer is 288 and that by following the very simple order of operations the answer is clearly 288?

The order of operations is non-negotiable. There is no other way of simplifying it. :D

You're right as long as you recognize math extends beyond the 8th grade and those rules are guidelines amongst a more complex system making the answer 2.

  7. Self-defense and what you are likely to find at the local dojo are more often than not two different entities. There are guys that have never been in a real fight who teach people how to survive a real fight, which makes no sense. Check out Christophe Clugston on Facebook or Youtube for a nice education in self-defense technology.

Sounds like your typical kung fu movie...

'Long Duck Dong travels the land challenging all he can to test his skill and prove he is the ultimate Kung Fu Master.'

    Makes no sense at all....

  8. if you can't find krav maga, there are probably a handful of muay thai, bjj, or mma school nearby somewhere. i guess it depends what you want to focus on. striking, or getting dirty on the ground. i've never attended any sort of mma class, so i can't comment on those.... but I believe it's a conglomeration of american boxing and muay thai with lots of bjj concepts.

Krav maga is only good if you have decent instructors. A lot seem horrible unfortunately since it is a great defense art. BJJ is horrible for self defense or practical use. You can adapt some things but overall it isn't good for defense training. It's a hell of a workout and a great sport though. Muay thai is only slightly more practical BJJ since you are staying on your feet, but it is also one dimensional. Just like BJJ, hell of a workout and a great sport. An MMA class isn't practical for anything accept a good work out and guys training in BJJ, Muay Thai and that want to practice MMA.

  9. Do you do code reviews on every app on your phone? If not, then I'd think twice about that statement. Lots of apps record data or access other parts of your phone that they have no reason to do, and do so without your knowledge.

iPhone apps don't let you know what services they are requesting access to before an install?

He's talking about the phone it self in any case recording this information...

  10. Dayton riders shooting day! :woo:

Can we call it that since Jarvis never rides though?

Well we lack off road guys in our group so we'll have to keep him around at least a little longer. :D

  11. I thought they weren't included in the military budget numbers, but were included in the overall debt calculations. If I'm wrong, then I definitely apologize.

Iraq/Afghanistan, chunks of Medicare spending, and a couple of other items weren't being included under the overall debt calculations. If I get time later I'll see if I can dig up the info.
