  1. Yeah, I'm way north of $80K at OSU. Kinda surprised how they chopped it but oh well... If you take the right retirement option you're fully vested after 1 year and should have about ~10K of OSU money in there with about $5.6 of your own in some decent mutual funds ... do the math on long term growth and avoiding paying into social security. Free education is a win ... if someone with DB skills and/or kids looking for a free first/masters degree this is the place.
  2. My old job (as of end of the month) has been posted at OSU. It's a good place and if someone is looking to step up to a position with independence, latitude, who can get things done .... this is a good gig. If you're not familiar with state benefits ... free part time education ... no pay into social security ... but they do take ~8% of your base and put it into a retirement plan .... and then match an additional ~13% on top of that ... medical plan is extremely good ... I think kids get free education. ---- www.jobsatosu.com/applicants/Central?quickFind=198100 University Title SR Systms Dev/Eng-Not Sap Working Title OSUAA Sr. Dev/Database Analyst Department VP of Alumni Association-OSU Alumni Association Department Location Columbus Requisition Number 357041 Summary of Duties Serves as architect and developer of business applications, queries, reports, and data analysis within a customer/association management framework utilizing industry standard and application specific toolsets while working with functional groups within IT and internal business clients.
