  1. Rickenbacker Int'National Airport will be having an Air Show this Sept... I hope this kind of thing doesn't happen there... since I'll be working at the FD that day! Here is some pic's of the crash... http://www.daytondailynews.com/p/content/gen/sharedoh/photos_galleries/news/local/2007airshowcrash.html
  2. I voted yes... But before you guys that voted no start to bash me, let me 1st say that I'm for our freedom and all that good stuff... I was in the military and fought for that very thing. I lived in NC where it is the law to have a helmet on, and I'm sure they saved a few friends that went down because they had one on. But, being a firefighter and seeing some of the things I've seen in my 9yrs doing this job, I will always strap on my helmet and wish it was the law so more people that fall while riding will have a chance to live. I can say I've seen a guy die from "just riding around the block" going no more then 20-30MPH and if he had a helmet on, he would be alive today and would of been able to live to watch his kids grow up. Doesn't matter how fast or slow you go... And since I started going to the track and doing track days and racing the NSR's around... I'm even more a gear nazi since I've had 1st hand experience on how well the gear (helmet included) works even at a slower speeds. So, my vote is for yes... I just hope that I won't be responding to anyone of you guys that fell and have a damn helmet strapped on the back of the bike and not on your head. That is all!
  3. Yes, One Thousand Five Hundred, I'm sure you can find that... start looking under the sofa and behind the chairs in the house
  4. How much to paint my solo tail for my 01 R6... red with black number plate.... it is prep'ed and taped off already!
  5. Forgot to say... that the pitbull stand doesn't come with the sale... it isn't mine and I need to return it.
  6. Yeah, at times it can be VERY CLOSE... check out these pic's 1st and 2nd pic is from 2005 race season on our YSR's, the 3rd pic is from this season on the NSR's! Racing one of these is like that almost the whole race!!!
  7. This is a friends bike that I'm helping him sale due to a broken leg he suffered while riding his street bike. He needs the money to help pay for hospital bills and what not. Anyway... this is a very nice NSR50 in stock trim with a few add ons. It doesn't have a full season of racing on it, runs good. Has vortex gas cap, SS front brake line, some different gearing for racing on other tracks and professional paint job (no spray cans). He is looking to get $1500 for it. It is worth it and I wouldn't mind having a back up bike, but my wife would kill me if I did. It is at my house and you can pick it up here in Blacklick (east side of Columbus). Email me at BCONRAD@wowway.com if you want to schedule a time to see it, ride it around or what not. If it doesn't sale, then I'll part it out and try to get him more money for the parts. Bike is ready to race, add fuel and have a blast! Racing one of these is very cheap and way too much fun!!! The local club is www.ohioysr.org and we have a few more races left before the end of the season.
  8. ousley99, I'm sure you've seen me ride my red 01 R6 on the base then... I work at the Fire Dept at Rickenbacker. I was Active Duty and got the hell out after 4yrs and 8months, glad I did too!
  9. Ahh... I thought I've seen your user name before!
  10. I'll trade ya R6's! Nice looking bike, I think I've seen ya before...

    Vintage Days

I'll be there Saturday helping a friend in the pits with his RS125... should be a good time!
  12. If you've got your Airport Firefighter certs, then you can apply where I work... Other then that, take a trip on your bike around 270 with a bookbag and grab as many applications as you can. Take a few days to fill them out and return them with copies of all your certs and what not. I know that West Lick-me Co. is going to hire more FF's soon... I would go over there and get an application. Bowhunt, No I won't be doing the trackday on the 30th... is that this month with SBTT?? I'll be there helping my friend in the pits for vintage race weekend on his RS125, then I'll be there for the Superbike weekend racing in the upper paddock area on my NSR for a demo event. Come check it out if you plan on going. Email or call me sometime if you and your buddy are planning on going for a ride... even if it is somewhere local and just to get out! I'm always riding by myself and it is getting boring!
  13. Yeah, our schedule is crazy as well... we don't work 48-72's, but 24 on 24 off 24 on 72 off, then next week is 24 on, 48 off 8 on 72 off. We get 3 kelly days every 2 weeks and it works out to a 104hr pay period. I've been getting a ton of OT the last few months, we've got 3 or 4 possitions to fill and I just racked in 64hrs of OT last pay! The pay scale here state side isn't too bad, now that we have a union to back us up and all that stuff... I'm happy. I know if I were to go fulltime anywhere else (like Columbus) that I would take a huge pay cut and I don't want to do that. I also, don't want to work 48-72's... I like my schedule now and my family does also... I've got my son's daycare setup around my set schedule. Not a medic yet (just an EMT) I've been wanting to go, and I even started Medic school back when I was stationed in NC, but was sent to Kuwait 2weeks into the class so I had to drop out. I've never had the chance to go back, and my schedule won't allow me to go to medic school unless I want to take a boat load of leave... I don't have any because I use almost all of it racing in the summer! Do you ever use the gym on DSCC?? I use to workout there back in the day when I was home on leave, it was nice. I was thinking about going back there to workout since I've got a military ID I see you live in Pickerington, I'm in Blacklick off Waggoner Rd, Noth of E.Broad St, let me know if you want to go out riding sometime! BCONRAD@wowway.com
  14. Yeah, I know all about DSCC...Where you in the military?? Reason I ask is because I applied there about 5 or 6 years ago (when I was still in the military) and the chief told me that they just started hiring paramedic's. I now work for Rickenbacker FD... I know there are a few guys at DSCC that worked at RFD before. We are 1 of the 4 State Fire Dept's here in Ohio and we respond mostly off the airport (with either or engine, tanker or rescue ) with Hamilton Twp, Madison Twp, CFD, and Harrison Twp FD's. I've been at Rickenbacker FD for 4 yrs now, but I've been a firefighter for almost 10yrs... I can't see myself doing anything else! I'm trying to get on somewhere PT, since I only work 8-10 days a month! I know you guys are on some crazy ass schedule right
  15. Where ya a firefighter at Bowhunt??
  16. umm... you powdercoat stuff?? I want my NSR frame powdercoated, could you do that??
  17. "The matter is under internal investigation." HAHAHA, someone is going to get their peepee smacked! How can you get the two address mixed up, not even the same street or sound the same
  18. yes... I'll be in the upper paddock area racing my NSR with the USMGP... come check us out there, it is a demo event to show kids how to get into roadracing and at a cheap price!
  19. Here is our schedule for the rest of the year... http://www.teamquazzymoto.com/schedule.htm
  20. Racing at Circleville this Saturday, Racing will start sometime around 11'ish, and end anywhere from 3:30 to 5pm. It depends on how many people show up and how many races we have. Why, you want to come down and watch?? Dave should be there
  21. Ummm... I could use a set also I guess Silver or white, what ever you have the most of?
  22. Shoot, I don't care about thread hijacking... it keeps it at the top right??
