R1 LE = Stevan... I almost killed him at the movies the other night just for something to do.. he came out of the bathroom with the weirdest smile on his face..
oh ok.. yeah they just changed them in 07 and will do it again in 09.. The only real change between the 07 and 08 1K is that they set up the 08 just a little bit higher 5mm to be exact... 08 also has a 4.6 gallon tank whereas the 07 has a 4.8 gallon tank. oh yeah and for 08 they have a Cali model which weighs 3lbs more. this is also most likely the reason for the tank differences as well. I guess the dual pipes alone do not meet cali emissions standards thus the reason for a cali model bike.. Just ask putty about cali model bikes. he loves them hahahaah:D Im going to have to hit up a dealership and measure where the 5mm ride height difference is.. guessing they lowered the forks in the triple and adjusted the rear shock.. Wonder why though.
They are.. 04-05 600/750s are the same 06-07 600/750s are the same 08-09 600/750s are the same (they just changed the models for 08) 05-06 1K's are the same 07-08 1K's are the same (just changed the model for the 07) 09-10 1K's will be the same
I knew I would be getting a comment from your smart ass.. Wow.. I forgot what it looked like with those dual exhausts and without the sets powdercoated. haha.. that helmet looks so plain.. guess that was before I attacked it with stickers. +5hp each Dont make me post pics of a totaled Kobe... Talk about a beater piece of shit.
Go 750... Best all around bike.. great at the track and no one is going to run away from you on the street either. I have a 750 and a 1K so I think my opinion counts for something considering I do both track and street.
Im just not all that familiar what is involved with an SS build.. port, valves, valve springs, over bore, head gasket, block plate, cams, pistons, rods, crank???? What all does it include?
Parasitic used in engineers terms refers to a loss in output, reduced airflow, etc due to some type of mechanical or structural element. For example. on an airplane, the rivets, antenna's etc are referred to as causing parasitic drag. Basically you have reduced airflow since these items have an influence on the structural aerodynamics but are still required. When they say lower at the crank but higher at the rear wheel due to reduction in parasitic losses, that basically means that the bike has better aerodynamics. Primarily better at higher speeds then it does at lower speeds. before anyone says anything about airflow being the same at different speeds, DONT, you will be wrong.
