Gearing is a blast to play with! Lots of top speed racers gear the front UP and the rear DOWN for that. My bike is 17/41 stock. I have 16/43 now which adds more acceleration, but less top end. Some of the top speed guys will maybe go 17/39 or 18/40, etc...to gain more top speed.

I wear 13 in tennis shoes but I wear 14's in Sidis. (up 1 size) I also wore 13 in Gaerne's, but they don't make them anymore. (same size)

Yeah, for the street man, 2pc is the way to go. If you're always at the track 1pc is best...if you always go that is.

I understand. Reads like we just have our different definitions of limiter on the top end, because a bike not pulling speed anymore is the limiter to me because that's the bikes limit of speed. Limiter is more related to electronically limited I know that, so I should have just said "top speed limit" instead of limiter, sorry. -1/+3 is a very low top end though on an old 250 is the 2008 does 90.

It revs infinity? I don't care how many revolutions per minute it can do. In my post I said the limiter (speed limiter), referring to it's top speed. The bike only will go so fast.

You saying there is no speed barrier huh? The 250 goes infinity speed? I never rode one, but she said it was hitting the limiter at 90 give or take a few and that was stock gearing. All bikes have a max speed they will make it to if pushed. Exactly, now take an even older one probably and install -1/+3 gearing and it will have a very low top end, or you can not calibrate it and it'll look super fast.

I remember back in 2008 an ex female member here was on her new 250 while rushing to Columbus. We were at a high cruising speed on US35 and we toned it down because with stock gearing she was hitting the limiter at 90mph she was saying. I don't know how true that is, but if it is, 80mph on -1/+3 old geared $500 250 sounds unattainable.
