My 1st ride was sitting on the bike and riding the brakes with it off down the hill of the driveway. Then sat in the road freaked out on releasing the clutch. (This was in the country, so no cars in the hood.) I just bought it and it was a brand new 0 miles bike. I was a little scared, but finally released the clutch fully and was moving about 35mph max through the neighborhood. I didn't want to get on the road at ALL! 1st highway experience I thought I was going to die! Wind was in control and I wasn't. Nowadays, the bike feels as simple as walking. I love riding too.

In my opinion he isn't yet ready for a track day. He hasn't even mastered the basics of a bike yet. When your comfy on your bike and don't have to think about brakes, steering, etc...THEN do a track day. Everyone should do at least 1.

None of those bikes are best for your size and riding style. I've had supersports and I'm not a fan of them for street riding. I love them on a track, but overkill and extremely uncomfy for the street. In my opinion with your experience I'd go zx14 or Busa if you are in for a sportbike. If you think they can't rail on the street that just means you haven't occurred the skill to do it in those 8 years. Good-luck!

Spring Valley is FREE you just buy the cheap permit. Vandalia Armory up north dayton is 14/hr and indoors with computerized target setting.

A gun, bullets, and a paper target. Is that what you meant? The spring valley range is outside and takes a permit which is $5 for one visit or $25 for a year permit which I get at Kmart. I usually shoot indoors, but a group is best done at an outdoor range IMO.
