  1. Damn I have had josh over to my house a few years back and he did some work on my bike last year(sort of) I was wondering about his shop. Sucks to hear. He had a house in pataskala I thought, are you sure your checking the right places looking for him? Hes good friends with someone on cr I believe.
  2. Updated with pics. Someone make me an offer and take this thing.
  3. Anybody catch it comes with its own personal trailer?
  4. If you know the guys' name put it on the title and go have it notarized. If in fact your sure hes buying it. he doesnt need to be there, but his info needs to go onto the title for most places to "legally" do it. But if he backs out, then you have to rip the title up like it was "lost" and apply for a copy. Dont quote me on any of it.
  5. Get on with a rental of a private drag strip. Cr is hosting one at dragway 42 on the 27th I believe.
  6. Damn wish I was riding. I have a house in byrdstown right on the lake and it just so happens I will be down there that week anyways.
  7. I am almost certain I dont know what a wheelie button is. I will get some pics posted in a little bit.
  8. Thanks man. It is a great bike. I just wish I could ride:(
  9. $2500 Since I wont be able to ride the bike for the rest of the year and I really dont want it to sit, I am looking to sell the bike. The bike is a 98 cbr900rr. I bought it after the previous owner laid it down at low speeds doing cosmetic damage. I repaired the fairings to good condition not perfect. The frame has a small area with minor scratch's. The bike has been painted flat enamel black(not primer). It has a performane machine rear wheal. New front/rear sprockets. 520 conversion. Brand new back tire(less than 50 miles). New brake pads at end of last year,(maybe 300 miles).Has duel devil exhaust pipes. Had the bike compression tested end of last year and it read perfect on all 4cylinders. It is missing the small key section on the rear tail(I have it but its cracked and I havent fixed it), also the taillight bezel that holds the key section on. I think I have lost 2 fairing bolts last year while riding but you can get these bolts from a dealer or ebay. I would definately keep the bike if I wasnt layed up for the year. Also the tank is painted a dull silver. Would make a great starter bike. Not perfect but still gets compliments when its out. Needs a new battery. No rides without cash. Its a good bike all and all. Not perfect by any means. It was wrecked when I bought it, but I have rode it for a few years and does great. Would make an awesome first bike for those who dont want a 600. Sold as-is. If you want, you can buy the key chain for $2400 and the bike for $100. $2500. Pics posted later today. Thanks May consider trades for something domestic to drive, Probably not but may so ask if you want.
  10. Just not sure if now wouldnt be a good time to go ahead and get rid of it. Its going to need some work at sometime, definately before its ridden next year if its not ridden this year. Plus it would give me a good reason if I want to continue to ride, to get something newer. I may never be able to ride. The foot may never be strong enough to allow it.
  11. I dont ride my bike very often but when I do its mainly in the summertime. Well my foot was crushed at work the other night. So I have rode the bike once so far this year and now I am being told I wont be able to put presser on this foot for 4-6 months. And after that I am not sure if it will be able to handle a ride til next year anyways. So Shold I keep the bike or sell it and buy something newer when I;m good again? The bike is a 98 cbr900rr, payed off, not perfect and coulduse some maintenance work and minor parts to be a serious rider. i would just hate for the bike to sit there and get plugged up and have parts wearing out for a year when Its running and I can sell it.
  12. A little re-cap of the bike, cbr900rr 1998 bought and rebuilt. The previous owner wrecked it and in doing so also ripped off the connector on the stator wire where it connects under the seat. I replaced it with just regular "butt" connectors with heat shrink ends. I have rode it this way for a few years but I noticed very quickly that a few minutes after riding, the wires were so hot it was melting the plastic the encased the metal connector portion of the connector. Make any sense? Should these wires get that hot? They are not scaldingly hot and perhaps they do get hot and the plastic portion of the connectors is just not meant for what I am using and I need to get something more industrial. I mean these are the same thing I would use to connect a regular wire in a car or something. It was all I had at the time. Does anyone have any suggestion? I need to get this thing going. Thanks
  13. Any of which is fixable without replacing the rotor? Safe to ride?
  14. It all feels fine. It clicks when I am rolling it around the garage. I assume it floats because it is in the grommets "floating" not really attached to anything. I would think this would need to be a rigid fitment or else it would very quickly wear out if it were to actually have movement(play). I dont think they mean floating as in free spinning or what you typically think of as floating. I do however feel the clicks but its much more audible than you can feel. If it were suppose to move, after a few stops the moving rotor would completely snap whatever is holding it in place.
  15. Cool. Thanks I thought that was probably the cause. I started it while I was in the garage working and didnt realize how long it was out there. I seen it start to overheat and was able to get it shut off immediately. Thanks. Anyone know about the rotors? Unsafe to ride?
  16. I had my bike running the other night in the driveway(98 cbr900rr). It was idling at around 2k just idling for awhile. It started to overheat. It was a cool night (thursday). I shut it off and turned the key back on to see if the fan was kicked on. It was. Could just sitting and idling have caused it to overheat? It was running maybe 25 mins. Also the rivets or whatever holds the floating rotos together on the front of the bike have started chattering as the wheel spins. The rivets are not tight any more and the rotor itself moves a little. Not on both sides just the one. Can this be tightened in any way, is this a wear indicator that the rotors need replaced, or do they just need replaced because the happens over time? Thanks
  17. Unfortunately you will have to go into a legal process to get these issues resolved. You need to get ahold of OHios renters bill of rights. Then file a grevance(sp). The court will set you and the landlord with a mediator to try and resolve the issue. The court if they feel it is necessary will collect full/partial rent and disperse this to help fix the problems. Unfortunately you are still obligated to pay rent. I would definately start the process sooner than later.
  18. Bike is a 98 cbr900rr. Could be the battery. I may switch the rectifier and see if it makes a difference.
  19. Well I got the carbs put back together and started the bike. Now onto problem #2. The stator wires are very hot. 1 min after starting the bike, the wires are to hot to touch. The stock connectors have been replaced with butt(ha I said butt) connectors due to original owner wrecking it and ripping them apart. This is a newer problem. The connectors have been on there for awhile without issue. They have started to burn through the heat shrink and melt together. I have a spare R/R that I am not sure is any good or not. Should I try to swap them out or could it be something else?
  20. Is this kinda like syncing the carbs? Why would these need to be adjusted?
  21. Everything is back together except for the pilot screws. Anyone on the adjustment? I did gauge based on revolutions of the screws how far I needed to unscew them to get them out, is this how I should put them back in?
  22. Damn, has anyone come up with a good way of getting the vacuum springs back in?
  23. Well everything is apart at this point, not the entire bank, but the jets are out, pilot screw and springs, floats, needles. I guess I will put everything back together in reverse order. Just not sure about the pilot screws positioning, and syncing. I read about the paperclip idea but not sure exactly where to place it and what screw(?) I am adjusting. Can anyone shed some light on this? Can I do this with the carbs off the bike?
