I think I confused myself?!?1 This is what I did the first time... Removed fan, plugged everything in..got 3 lights...and waited for 2. Ran it for 2 mins then shut it down. Took mb out and torqued screws. Put it back together and fired it up. Success...I thought. Xbox froze after trying to boot. Second bake was running one fan over CPU so 360 wouldn't shut down with two lights...ran that for 15 mins then let cool for 15 mins. No go. Doing the exact same thing this time...except I reapplied paste. I may have had too little on there the first time...in my attempt to not put too much. We'll see. It seems to have taken longer to go to 2 lights from three this time (getting ready to shut it down and tighten the screws down and let it cool).

The second method I tried was the 'alternate method'. I'm recleaning and applying paste and starting from scratch. I'll give your method a try first.

I'm guessing they opened it up because they were away for so long and needed to build the peers up?? Having an invite system would slow things down. I don't foresee them keeping it that way forever.

The first time, no. The second time, I had the fan sitting on top of the CPU. Third time, I removed the MB and adjusted the screws, and going for another round without fan...wash rinse repeat. I still have a small amount of hope seeing as it booted (but froze) the first two times...before giving 3 lights.

Re baking this bitch now. First attempt...it started..then froze..and now RRoD. It's cooling down and I should know in a few minutes. I might have to play with the tightness of the screws.

Xbox live is better then PSN, but in my opinion only in the getting a party together and communicating sense (LOL..yeah the only things that matter). I don't experience any lag on PSN..unlike Live, but Live is leaps and bounds better for getting a group together. Live is also more expensive, but in some ways it's worth it. having said that, if you bought a launch PS3 you recouped your Live cost already. Another note..you have to remember this is Sony's FIRST multiplayer network. MS has been doing this since the original Xbox, so you're comparing an immature product to something that has had years to evolve. For those bashing Sony, you probably don't have a PS3 or don't bother to go online since you have a 360. If you did, you'd notice Sony is quick to fix problems and add features to the PS3 and PSN. They are constantly releasing updates to the PS3 firmware. While Live might be better overall, the fucking PSN is free and for a service only 2 years + old I think they've come a long way. I'll take my PS3 exclusives over 360 exclusives any day and PSN=Free is hard to knock....but I tend to like the 360 controller better and Live gets the nod for the online aspect (barely). And fuck if I'm going to give MS any more of my money when they KNOWINGLY pushed that piece of shit 360 out the door with a major defect, just to beat Sony to the punch. If this 360 doesn't come back to life today, all the 360 games for xmas go back for PS3 games. I won't reward MS for fucking me in the ass and making me pay for it. I wonder how many 360 sales are from previous 360 owners? Anyways....everyone stop bitching..go buy both.

If you want a temp fix...try the 'blanket fix'. For a more permanent fix, go get an X Clamp off of ebay. The blanket fix worked for me for a day...then it stopped..then I tried it again, and it's been running ever since. Waiting on my clamp in the mail... Late Sunday night is when I should be sleeping...earlier in the day works better for me.

There are minor..really minor..differences between the 10 and the 11. And thanks for the stock clarification..you're absolutely correct. Is there a better pic of the trigger? What's that discoloration?
