I agree. We just lost some one on DSB in the same manner. Stand up wheelie @100MPH..came down and did an endo when someone pulled in front of him. It sucks, cause he didn't deserve to die, but at the same time he had himself to blame. I like watching stunts..but I refuse to do em because of the risk involved. I have too much to lose. People please keep the stunts off the streets!

I ended up with strips on my rear...Mainly because the majority of my riding consists of a 2 hour round trip commute to work most days. When I am riding for pleasure, there aren't any twisties to hit that are along the beaten path. I just got a new 2CT on the rear yesterday and I plan on scrubbing up the sides real good before the season is over.

I'm not a big fan of BDubs anyways. Tiny wings and the atmosphere just drains the life out of any fun you might have there. But for this purpose, it works!

Cool. That's good news, and I agree with keeping the twisties on the mild level. I just wanted a mix for people that like either/or. If I don't go to Detroit on Sat(that's up in the air) I'll give you a shout and roll with you.

I like it. The BW3 in Ashland works! I'm not from here...so I don't know any of these roads (other than terrorizing 511 the other weekend). I say we go with this route. Doesn't look like many twisties though...but I think unless we go further south we're not going to get much of those anyways. What time is everyone cool to start? Noon? This gives people like me time to recover from the previous night. Shitty (LOL)...is noon cool? Does that give you enough time to get home? It looks like Sunday has a chance of rain with temps around 75. It's probably gonna be a lil chilly once we get moving depending on how sunny it is so keep that in mind for anyone planning on comming. Again, if you plan on coming speak up. As of now, the planned meet up time @ QSL in Sheff-tucky is noon, with a planned stop in Ashland for vittles. Come to QSL with a full tank please. Is anyone NOT familiar with basic hand signals? Yeah, good point. Beachwood is on the east side...near Mayfield Heights. Just north of where 271 and 480 meet. Traffic sucks @ss, My bike is in the shop right now getting a tire put on. I MAY have it back tonight..but most likely it will be tomorrow @ 7pm. So if you guys want to scout, you'll have to do it without me. By the time I get back to Lorain and grab my other bike and hit the roads..it will be getting dark. Right now, it sounds like it's mainly west siders. This is what I'm thinking. The problem with twisties is that they dont get real twisty until you reach southern ohio. LOL I 100% feel you on that!! That's cool on the time constraints. I want to get an early start on Sunday...like 11. If you figure a 2 hour ride or so..stop for a bite somewhere...that puts us at 1 or 2pm. If folks wanna ride after that, thats cool. I didn't want the first ride to be too long. Hell, I could ride all day but I guess I need to start slow. Some of my rides in Detroit go 5-6 hours or longer..depending on where we are riding too and the size of the group. People just peel off the ride when they wanna head home. Average size of the group is like 25 bikes. A decent turnout is like 50.

I moved to Lorain from MI in 98. Hating it ever since!! Yeah, you're not far from me at all. A few minutes tops. Actually my girl that has my other bike is real near you on Pennsylvania. What sort of free time do you have? Are you gonna make it on Sunday? I am thinking I may just skip MI this weekend and stay here if we can get some people together and get organized. If this works out, I'll start a seperate web site in a few months.

I live near the south side. The east side isn't far at all..used to work over there. A few miles at most. Do you know what street you'll be on ?

QSL is fine for the west side. I haven't heard anything from any east siders, so i am going to assume this is mostly going to be a west side ride and the route I plan will be headed south from the Lorain/Elyria area, then east, then north, then back west. Friday sounds like a plan. I want to hit the roads before it gets dark, and I dont leave Beachwood until 6. What I'm thinking is, I can maybe scout from the east after leaving work, coming west...and maybe me you guys somewhere. Then we can head south or north to map the rest of the route. You'll be really close to me. Will you be here on Sunday? i had planned to be in Detroit on Saturday and right back here for Sunday's ride..but plans may change and I may be here all weekend. Let me know. I didn't scout the other part of the trip like I wanted to because my rear tire is lookin pretty bad and I don't get my 2CT installed until Wednesday. Dangit, I just remembered I have another bike!!! LOL Someone else is riding it. DANGIT!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, what do you guys think... On the way to the AMA's last weekend, I found that 511 has some nice roads where we won't be bothered (too much) by traffic or cops (although I did pass one yesterday..but I think he was going faster than I was). There is a lot of straight roads where you can see far in the distance, and a few sweeping turns. I'm thinking we could meet up somewhere near where the turnpike meets Baumhart road (or somewhere north of that, on Lake/Erie road), then take Baumhart down to 511, make a right on 511 and ride that for like 20-25 miles. At some point, we could head east..then back north and maybe end the ride at QSL in sheffield or some other spot...or a few spots. I'm not against stopping once or twice for some pop. I scouted 511 yesterday, but I didn't head east. I think I'm going to do that a lilttle later today. There's always the Met parks, but that's going to be full of traffic and a slower ride. Any thoughts? We have less than a week to get this firmed up. I'll post a tenative route later today if the 511 thing sounds like a plan.

Yeah that sounds like a plan...except for the cops on 90. We'll have to be careful. I haven't been there either..I'm going to try and scout it on Saturday. I like the twisties...but I don't want the ride to be too slow. I'd like to mix it up if I could. having said that, I found some killer twisties and flats on 511 on the way to mansfield. If this ends up being a west side only ride..I'm tempted to go back that way.

That depends on who's going. I am in lorain, so if there is anyone near me we can meet somewhere near the highway, then roll to another part of CLE to meet others. People, if you are going to ride, post where you are coming from so I can get this organized this weekend.

Ouch....LOL i feel you. Yo, HD's are welcome. We probably won't get too crazy with the riding the first time out. Shoot, I don't even know where we're going as yet. It's more for us to get used to riding in a group and gettin to know each other..then when the winter months come, we can chop it up on here or our own web site.
