  1. TOW = Tube launched Optically Wire guided missile?
  2. Looks to me like another SCAR set up. The SCAR is currently in use by the US Army Rangers, I wonder if this will have any effect on the fielding of these rifles. Being used to an M4 platform, I see some ergonomics that I like with both rifles.
  3. Been a member @ BWSC since 08'. Only indoor range I will frequent. My only beef with NASC, is the safety BS to go through everytime you go to the range. Granted for MOST people in this world, it is a great idea. However, I've had my fair share of firearm experience, so it's kind of a slap in the face to have to do.
  4. You got a one in a million on that behalf. I wouldn't sell any of my Glocks for anything less than $400, because they're worth every penny at that price. Don't get me wrong, I picked up a Springfield M1A with about 100 rounds shot through it for $800. Right time and right place always work out. Speaking of Glocks G36 > Can never go wrong with a slim .45ACP.
  5. You won't get a used Glock for the sub $400 realm. I won't go into putting a price on your life, but I've shot/own all the weapons stated above. The M&P is very ergonomic to most shooters, only thing I had an issue with on the XD was the finish on the slide, and Glocks speak for themselves. I've heard people bitch about the Glock grips, in which I've never had an issue with. If you don't have soft girly hands, it shouldn't bother you. My new love is the SIG 220 and the 229. Don't bother looking unless you want to spend atleast $750+, but you'll blow out a silver dollar within the 25 meter realm.
  6. I know you're sand bagging, you can join in since I know you'll be standing. I will agree with the M38 and the 7.62X54mm cheapness.
  7. We could clean Mexico up with a few Predator B UAV's http://blackflag.files.wordpress.com/2007/07/reapermq9.jpg It can carry upwards of 3,000lbs of munitions and take out targets with pin point accuracy. End "Drug War"

You only hate when I sit outside your window in my ghillie suit.
  9. As Gabe put it, stand off distance is the smarter move on this behalf. This is why I am particular as to what weapons I will utilize in this possible scenario. Example: http://www.eastcoastfirearms.com/images/content/AA9627x.gif SOCOM II M1A (M14) It is 7.62X51mm chambered, based upon John Garand's M1 design, reliable, and heavy enough to be utilized as a club.
  10. It was loosely based upon Vicktor Bout
  11. Pastrana is just pure balls to the wall no fear. Block is skill and style. Both are great drivers, but Block is more of a skilled driver than Pastrana's pure insanity approach.
  12. I maybe hitching a ride from you within the next weeks ahead. You guys got any birds to Southern Afghan?
  13. Simple, the former Soviet Union's weapons were built by peasants, for peasants. I always believed from studying the Cold War, that no matter what, diplomacy had to prevail due to the possibility facing not only both sides, but the entire World. The threat of nuclear/Biological weapons is far from over. Many of the former Soviet states pay to the highest bidder, have repeated "garage sales", and people like Vicktor Bout inevitably sell to whoever pays.
  14. Bout to be some RAP about some RAPE in hurr.

  16. Get comfortable with it, then later you can start getting into the glass stocks and the bull barrels if you deem to get surgical with it. Check out vandyke rifles, it'll peak your interest to say the least.
  17. The Remington 700 is like the small block chevy of the gun market. Anything and everything is out there for it. It's the choice rifle for the Army's M24, so that says something. I think you'll be quite happy with your selection, just know that the big $$$$ lies in what glass you choose. I have experience with the Leupold Mark 4, which is an excellent scope. But I know Nightforce, US Optics, and Zeiss are some well made brands aswell. With a good scope combo, the only other addition I say to make is a Harris Bipod, and you'll be set. If you plan on doing some distance shooting, it's never a bad thing to buy a spotting scope on a tri-pod to help you dial in.
  18. Too bad your bean bag will be in the bed of my truck.
  19. I may have to display to you my contingency plan I have on a word document. I was about to make a power point slide of it, but my plan is almost 5 pages long. I forgot to add the communications aspect. You can kiss cell service/tradition lan lines out of the question. If I can get ahold of a PRC-148 I plan on obtaining one, but more or less, CB radios and/or HAM radios will be key in outside communication. Internal commo will be done via 2-way radios with secure channels.
  20. The TAC-50 is a nail driver. I have shot/utilized the Barret M107 in a sticky situation, and not going to lie, sustained accurate semi auto fire is hard to suppress. But yes, the best offense, is a great defense. I will invite people that hold skills to join me, and those with equipment. The John Deere store will be raided for it's equipment, aswell as a bobcat. A perimeter with high walls, and towers will be key to success. A secondary fall back/last line of defese/line of advance would need to be established aswell. A self sufficient structure will have no problems in surviving, so a location within distance of a water supply is key.
