I saw that clean Ranger in the background when they all rallied up. I said, that wouldn't be a bad choice. But what got me was the fact they didn't top off the fuel from those vehicles. Anywho, it was a good episode. I can dissect it a million different ways, but I like the direction it's going. Sucks to wait until fall, but I guess reading the comics and Falling Skies will have to do for now.

Besides mechanicals, here's what I've noticed with the brands as far as suspension is concerned: Ford Superduty: Anything over 100K miles (especially lifted) get ready for ball joints, tie rods, and a new pitman arm nut. Dodge: About the same as the Fords. Skip the newer Dodges as in 09+, for the front ends on those things are absolute junk. Chevy/GMC: over 100K, ball joints, tie rods, idler arm, idler arm bracket and pitman arm. Since I lift these trucks on an almost daily basis, I think it boils down to the power plant you want. Anything Pre-05' shouldn't have any emissions crap to mess with, but as it was said, you can basically do as you please since Ohio doesn't really have any emissions testing. If it were me, I'd lean towards the Cummmins truck.

The fact that you must provide valid ID to vote kind of blew my mind. They're actually arguing that it is descrimantory to mandate valid ID checks because higher levels of minorities do not process proper ID. Guess I might be the only one that thinks it is perfectly legal to ask for ID when voting. Lord knows I found it so hard to walk in and present all of my proper documentation to obtain a Driver's license, let alone a simple identification card. I could care less about the person's color, but when it becomes the only reason people vote for a certain candidate, it mocks our democratic system. There's plenty of worthless candidates to fill a septic tank with, but I think someone that can do what's best, should be the one. I find it hard to determine that basis by ethnicity, but it'll probably happen again.

I could rest my cheek on the SOPMOD/Crane style stock all day long too.

The LMT 2-stage trigger is fucking super smooth to me. I like the LaRue OBR, and the REPR, but I love LMT. There's a reason the Brits are using it as their designated marksman rifle. And so far, I hear the reports from the field are that it's nothing shy of excellent. I'm not sold on the piston rifles yet. DI has proven itself, and got a bad rap due to Vietnam era BS. Atleast with DI, you can swap bolts for the most part, but when it comes to piston rifles, everyone does their own thing. LMT308MWS.

Good episode that answered some questions. I assume the farm will be no more after the next episode. I'm waiting to read the comics until this season is over.

Everyone has their preference on lubrication and cleaning products. I've been a fan of remoil since my 2nd tour in Iraq. Next to LSA, remoil worked on everything to include our M2 .50's. For you AR guys, the wetter, the better. As Hal mentioned, a dirty firearm will function when properly lubricated, where as a dry firearm will lock up etc.... Everyone had their preferences as to how much lube to run on a firearm, but I soaked my shit. As I have found out when expelling thousands of rounds, lubrication like LSA/CLP/remoil, made the firearm easier to clean. If you can score some dentist picks, and a good kit like the OTIS kits, you'll be fine. My go to cleaner has been and will always be Hoppe's #9. For the AR owner: After I clean and wipe down my bolt carrier group (after a full field strip) I lubricate as I put back together. Even the buffer tube needs to be lubricated, unless you love the sound of grit and dirt against the spring. A little wet spot on the end of a buffer tube isn't a bad thing.
