  1. so that guy drove some old ww2 tank while he was in the army.. okay.

It's an M60, it was fielded during Vietnam and fought its last battle in the Gulf War. Before we got Wolverines (tank with a bridge) our AVLB's were on M60 tank chassis. I can believe it was more of a statue that still moved. We had plenty of those at Fort Hood.

  2. I'm surprised all the bible humping hillbillies in texas are even aware of f1.

    "Ferraris are for queermosexuals."

"Why aren't they racin dodge trucks?"

"The cars are too small to hold my .45 and tall boy"

    "HOOK 'EM LONGHORNS!"

We ain't as backwards here as some may think. Austin is far from the typical Texas that folks think. Not everyone has a horse, cattle or a ranch. But, I will say most own a nice pair of boots.

  3. I'll be attending with Christian (ImUrOBGYN). Free passes since my bank helped finance construction. Woot!! Shoot me a text this weekend if you want to have a mini CR meet. 281-686-6365.

I'll be there with GergWheel. We planned to head down Friday. Got to show him a little bit of Texas and 6th street in Austin first.

  4. Nice build it from scratch or just buying one of the BCM SPR uppers? I turned one of my LE6920s into a SPR clone. Wilson Combat 18in SPR barrel. Didn't like the PRI stuff and went with a DD M4 rail. Now i think i might get the geissele MK3 to replace it.

18" barrels are getting harder to find, but I may sub a 20" barrel in.

  5. Can't edit for some reason...thoughts on the optic plan?

I'm a fan of both EOtech and Aimpoint. If 100 yards is your playing field, I see no true use for a magnified optic. Next to an ACOG, I'm a fan of one of my LMT MRP's topped with a Leupold Mark 4 CQ/T. It's all personal preference and what you're comfortable with. I run different optics for what I intended the rifle to do.

  6. I've not seen anything about use on high temp, high cyclic rate weapons. LSA is great for that environment and has proven so.

I'd say it would depend on the intended use. Frog Lube was designed for use in harsh environment and demanding results. Though I would say; I think it's small arms, semi auto, and maybe Burst. I've not run it though what I consider, a demanding sesson of shooting. Therefore, I can't say for sure from my own experiance.

Ma Deuce ran like a champ with Remoil. I ran out of LSA when we got stuck out for 3 weeks (surge circa 06 Iraq). My old man sent me some over to clean my weapons. I kept a big can in the turret with me after I ran a box to test fire. Not that CLP didn't work, but it burned off quick. I would assume if Frog Lube bonds with the metal, it'll run full cyclic rate. Either way, most weapons systems will run dirty, if they stay wet. Contrary to the lubricate lightly theory.
