Check out Car Kulture DeLuxe magazine if you want a little inspiration. The West Coast is chalked full of the rockabilly/rat rod scene. Not sure if you wanted to go car or truck, but the market is huge. If you want to stay traditional, think Flathead, white walls, and spending some time at swap meets. My Boss has a 73 with a 93 5.0 EFI. Don't think you'd enjoy driving an early Bronco with full lockers and super swampers, but if you want one, check out Bronco Graveyard. Very capable vehicles and a nice aftermarket full of goodies. Personally, I'd go EFI as my #1 priority if it were me. Don't expect it to be a "cheap" winter daily by anymeans.

I understand the nature of wanting to own a firearm as a recreation or for fun. "Looking bad ass" may not be the way to begin this conversation into firearms. If you have 0, as in have never handled a firearm, I suggest a beginner class or some instruction into firearms. My first firearm was a Marlin Model 60, which I still own to this day. Great rifle to learn, grasp the fundamentals and plink with. If you're simply going to an indoor range to blast some ammo every so often, a nice .22LR pistol would be good for you. Anything from Ruger or Walther might suit your fancy.

There's a pistol buffer tube which won't allow a stock to be fitted to it. That'll save you from the whole "intent" on building an "illegal" SBR. If you want an SBR, look at the LMT 10.5" uppers. Plenty short, and you can utilize a little more of the 5.56 without expelling all it's gas. (check out the MK18 set up)

If by Moly, they mean Chrome Moly lined, it's not a bad pick up. An un-lined barrel won't last you long with putting many rounds through it. 1:7 twist is suitable for NATO spec 62 grain M855 (green tip ammo, which is dirt cheap) So assuming these things are true, then YES, it's a good deal for the super cheap AR hunter.

Of course, but make sure you use a pistol buffer tube, unless you're SBRing it. Just know, 5.56 uppers shorter than 14", expell a lot of gas and essentially don't make full use of the 5.56's velocity. I can't think of the nomenclature for the MK18 ammo, but they do have ammo better suited for use in SBR type rifles.
