  1. There was a great article similar to that a fre years back in the Guns and Ammo AR special. I've never been a fanboy of anything particular, unless I see it being carried in a hostile environment. After shooting some 10.5" LMT rifles, I was hooked from then. He made some great points on AR's that some folks over look. Price shouldn't be the deciding factor, it's what the rifle brings to you.
  2. Whenever ya'll get up and running, I'll start buying. I need to finish a couple AR's before my next M1A and the Scout go under the knife.
  3. Nice! You still thinking about starting a business or doing parts? My next M1A will get the Troy or Sage set up. I got a bit of range time with the Sage, so I'm leaning that way. I'll go standard this time, and keep the Scout the way she is, minus a CCO of some sort.
  4. Nate, Palmetto State Armory usually keeps M118LR in stock. BTW, you start that thing you had spoke of?
  5. Since you're not 100% set on the action, I'll kick it up a notch. http://www.surgeonrifles.com/
  6. The Rubicons also come equipped with 4.10's in them aswell.
  7. Just an FYI, the ball joints are trash. Seen quite a few that need them replaced with less than 40K on the clock. They made a great change for the 2012 JK's, which is what was needed. Besides the ball joint issue, the 2012 is a much better Jeep than the 07-11's were. If you're wondering, a 2.5" lift will clear 35's all day long. Thanks to the new motor, no need to run 4.88's or 5.13's to get it to move. I'd hold out for a diesel Grand Cherokee.....IF it actually is produced.
  8. Personally, my M1A is my go to rifle. If you want some other .308/7.62 chambered rifles the LMT308MWS, Larue OBR, Winchester Model 70 (Carlos Hathcock's famous rifle), Savage 10FP, Remington 700, etc etc etc.. If you want a great rifle with a capability of 1,000 meters, the M1A can do it. Past that, you're getting out of the effective range of the .308/7.62 catridge. Anything further, think .30-06 to .300 Win Mag. I'm assuming you're leaning towards a semi-auto rifle. With that said, you'll be tickled pink with an M1A.
  9. I can't remember if the M21 is already set up, but I do remember it has an adjustable stock/cheek pad, bipod, and should come with some glass. The National Match is set up to run out at Camp Perry out of the box. Heavier stock and heavier barrel for increased long distance accuracy. If you are really wanting to do the Sage EBR setup, I'd buy a standard M1A and build it from there. The Sage stock will set you back an easy $700, rifle $1400-$1600, and if you can track down a Leupold Mark 4, that'll be another $1,200+. Almost any standard length M1A has a capability of 1,000 yards with the right ammo. Crazy Horse aka Smith Enterprise was the first company building the M21 EBR set up for the US Military. Check them out if you really want to go EBR. If not, the M21 will be what you need and ready to run out of the box.
  10. Not shitting on the parade, but it's a different experience when your balls deep on the ground. Going into combat is like the Superbowl, Stanley cup, and an adrenaline rush so intense, you'll never be able to recreate it. If you're in the US Military in this day in age, and have fears/doubts/don't want to go overseas, you're in the wrong business. I'll keep the rest of my $.02 to myself.
  11. Look like Pro Comp ES9000 shocks on it. When they go to shit, check out the Bilstein 5100's. We've been doing nothing but Bilsteins and Fox Racing shocks on Superduty trucks. Truck looks great.
  12. Leopard 2 I believe. I got so used to the sound of M1's and their turbines, funny to hear a piston engine in a tank.
  13. Yaaaaaaaay! It'll be like battleship in reality!
  14. We used to have fun with our Bradley's on the tank trails like that when it was all mud. Fun to pitch a 60 ton, tracked vehicle sideways.
  15. Kyle is a pretty good b-ball player if you've ever played with him.
  16. Got me some Jack Daniels Tennessee honey. Merry Fucking Christmas!
  17. Haven't checked to see of anyone has these in stock yet. I'd really love to go throw some 3" Magnums through it.
  18. Probably a 28" barrel, so as far as a "home defense" shotgun, that wouldn't be my pick. Good looking shotgun. Tell us how it shoots.
  19. Like Joe said, I'm still curious about the Mosin pick. As far as bolt rifles are concerned, it's far from a great rifle. A 1903 Springfield, K98 Mauser (any Mauser for that matter), or some of the British .303 Enfield rifles are a better option. For $100, sure the Mosin looks good, but it's sure not great by anymeans. But then again, I'm not a peasant rifle fan.

  21. I knew you were, I just think you need an M1A as your next rifle.
  22. Howard, All you need is a gas operated, magazine fed, semi-automatic rifle.
