Yes I did, But I got a email from ralliespec saying they would part out a gear set for me so I went that route. I had planned on tossing it in and seeing how bad the noise was myself since when i picked up my current wagon it also had a whine. I swapped fluids out and it went away in ~50 miles.

Not center diff its front diff as i specified. But to my understanding he ran the wrong mix in it. The gear set alone is worth 500 with no front or rear diffs I'm including everything. Yes it should fit a 04-06 with out any mods and should fit a WRX with some minor changes (clutch setup) I'm open to offers And yes I'm building a 818, I decided to rebuild my STi-RA gearbox and use it vs using this one.

I recently purchased a 06 XT gear box to use in my wagon and decided to go a diffrent route with the car.. The previous owner said the front diff made a slight noise after he changed fluid types. He was already going six speed so he yanked the box. I have not heard the noise but i have verified the box shifts threw all 5 gears on the ground with out any issues and i've driven the xt prior to tear down and it never had a issue engaging. all syncros felt great What I have 06 Gearbox 70k 06 Rear 06 Half shafts * 4 06 Drive shaft 600$ if by this weekend.
