Husband wants a rusty trombone for his birthday

    Date: 2009-04-27, 8:03PM EDT

My husband has asked for a rusty trombone for his birthday, which is Wednesday. I've scoured the pawn shops and music stores, and I haven't found one. I am guessing that rusty ones will be cheaper than new ones, and I don't know what the big deal is, but it's what he wants and he is very specific about it. I could have bought a dozen new ones at this point, but he says that a rusty trombone is nostalgic for him, so I suppose it will mean more. If you selling (or even giving away) a rusty trombone, please let me know what you have, how much it costs and how I can get it (will you deliver it, or will I have to go to you?). Also, suggestions on how to wrap such a thing? Please help, I am down to the wire on this thing and I don't like being this late with a gift!!!

  2. how big are you? i rode a drz450 around the neighborhood and it was fun, but i felt like it could have used more pep. im 6'1-6'2 230's, and might want to bump up into the 650 and gear teh shit out of it\

    nice action shot btw

  3. Nah, Not only as a firefigher/medic but someone who works in a level 1 trauma ED(Grant), we dont treat trauma's any differently. To be honest, if you are in that bad of a shape, we dont care what your organ donor status is, what your name is, any of that (In the trauma room you are assigned a letter. Trauma A,B etc) Emergency personel's concern is to simply get you better and to mitigate what ever life threats you have going on. Not once in any of the ED's or fire deparments ive worked at have i ever seen anyones life cut short d/t your organ donor status. There are a fair number of motorcyclists who work in the hospital, and a shit ton of firefighters ride as well.

    and think about this

NOT THAT THIS HAS EVER BEEN DONE,

but killing someone who is an organ donor wouldnt make sense...To be frank, if organ donation ever made its way into the picture, theoretically, we'de try and keep you alive as long as possible... medically speaking, to keep you alive is to keep your organs alive. Organs need oxygen, blood, a balanced PH, so on. with out organs you dont have much (Obviously organs arnt the only thing you need to live, but you get my drift).

Its a common misconseption, EMS/ER people dont treat you any differently.

I was an organ donor till I got my MC license.

I had it removed because I have the paranoid fear that the Parameds or doctors would treat me as exactly that - an organ donor.

However, if I was actually in such a condition my parents and significant other know I want to be an organ donor. I just removed it from my license because of that fear.

I guess I'm both sides of the coin.

  4. more brake fun on my kawi 77 kz1000. the pads are just getting tighter on my disk like a vise grip, but never letting up when i let up off the brake. bleed them and then what?

ps i had wbs do my brakes last fall and i havent ridden it since. they changed brake fluid...possible a particle got kicked up and is blocking a release point?

  5. so i went to autozone and bought one...problem i didnt see is that my aftermarket 4into 1 pipe runs below my bike and below my frame!(see pic) its to low to get the jack under.

f it. imma lift the bike up and have the GF slide the jack under..
