Another think to keep in mind Todd is that not all suits are cut the same. All A-stars run tight so a 44 might be more like a 42 in another brand. So as Craig said he's in a 44 (Geriki) given his dimensions it won't be the same for other brands. I think you have the right idea to head up to Pony and try some one. I know the last time I was there they don't have nearly the selection they used to have. They might of had like maybe 3 good named brands or less.

A 42 is pretty small Todd. If I had to guess, you probably need a 44-46. Your close proximity to the ground will be your real problem but nothing that Barnacle Bill couldn't fix for you. Might be worthwhile to post up on some of the racing boards as well.

Yup. Nothing quite like having a cup of coffee on the deck while on a conference call.
I personally like the "remote office". It doesn't always have to be coffee on the deck. What about beer on the patio? Pick what works best for you: The Kilt, BJ's Brew, Bar Louie, Elevator Co, CBC, Winking Lizard, etc. I had many when I lived up north.

Out. Ginger covered it. Damn it.

He leaves but only when Carrie get sick of seeing him pull the "Risky Business" underwear moves around the house.

Yeah the morning rush hour traffic to work sucks. I mean, it's a long hallway between my bedroom and office, and the dogs always seem to block it up. Takes like 10 seconds on a good day, but can be up to a minute or two if I have to pee.
QFT!
Damn it, Ben. I have the same problem!

So how many of you think you need 1GB to your house?
As as consultant that works from his home, I definitely do.
I can't tell you how many times I've had to downloaded a clients database which even exported and compressed was over 10GB in size. Uploading VM's for other consultants assisting with a project...there's 40-70GB. The more bandwidth I have the faster I get stuff done.

Can't argue that logic, Chucky. If I have any funds left over I'll plan on adding some bigger spares items.

I doubt Mark wants a 2 smokin' HD tech in his area.
I've been within a a couple miles of his shop just never knew I was close to it. I'm going to give the current guy a call to see if there's anything that can be done to make sure I have my stuff back in time for Buttnam.
He has already stripped everything down and ordered the cap extenders. I just needed to give my approval on getting the springs which I did give to him.

alright, sometime this season I need to snag a set of ragged out take offs from one of you fuckers to give the Pirelli carcass a shot. I have to admit, mounting those things up is like a dream vs dunlops....could just about push them on by hand.
Only issues I've had with dunlops was a 209 front (yuck) and this 211 takeoff, but I really think the 211 was mistreated or something.
I was getting good life out of the take offs last season...about 4 track days/rear with a flip; taking it to no tread on one side. Fronts I just changed whenever, have a surplus of those.
I think I have a set from last year or the year before in my trailer, Ryan. I would say easily it's a 3 rear to 1 front ratio running them. Lets not forget that you can flip the Pirelli's and I don't know that you can with all of the Dunjunks. I've been running the Rosso Corsa and not pushed it beyond it's limits. This is the next tire down from the Supercorsa SP's which is what I'll be spooning on this season.

If you haven't heard of him, do a google search for Vesrah Racing... He owns/owned that prolific winning endurance team for years, building all the bikes. His new shop in Ashland was featured in Roadracing World last year I believe, former NASCAR team shop. He moved the operation from Wisconsin last year so I'm assuming not as many people around here who haven't raced WERA/Nationally know who he is. He's at mid-ohio for every trackday now providing trackside services and the Pirelli tire services.
I have heard of him through you Duc suckin' buddy.
I know he's awesome at bike setup/builds, engines, etc. but didn't know he had the goods for suspension work. Now that I know I he's not so far away I could simply drive them to him/his shop on a Saturday if he's around.

Not sure how I did but I seem to have an unnatural knack for doing it when I don't even know I'm doing it.

that's why I stick with the well known more local people that will, A: get your stuff done quickly, and B: be around for support at the track. Mark Junge with MCJ Motorsports will be doing my suspension. Nothing like one of the best all around guys who will stop what he's doing and pull your fork apart because "it doens't feel right", find the problem, put it all back together and not ask for a dime. Mark is located in Ashland, provides at the track service, and has more knowledge, experience, and equipment than pretty much anyone.
Drew, I might be talking to you about Mr. Junge for my future needs.

Just to clarify things and I'm not trying to publicly bash who's doing the work, I'm just venting at some of the times I'm getting.
Forks have been gone for 2 weeks as of the 7th when they were received. I got my estimate this past Saturday along with the time to get parts, etc. This is where I got the time frame for when I would get my forks/shock back. 2 weeks gone already + "several weeks" (I'm assuming more than 2) = 1 month (or longer) to get a basic service plus springs and cap extenders installed.
So, I didn't ask for an estimated time on service based on some good rep. I had several very prompt emails with guy and I personally allotted time until the end of the month for it to get completed which isn't enough based on the time I was give to get the springs.
Bad on me? Sure I guess that's my bad. But weeks to get some springs for a bike that's been raced for over 7 years? I'm not so exactly sold on that.
Again, don't want to neg. rep. the guy as he technically hasn't done anything wrong. I'm just salty that I'm going to have to miss the first two rounds of racing in an already short racing season.
Hope that helps explain things better.

I sent them in fully expecting not to get them back until the end of the month which would be almost 4 full weeks, at worst case. I did not get a time estimate as I thought that would be more than enough time. So I guess it's my own fault?? Like I said, I'm not sure how things like this always seems to be so slow to turn around. It's not like I send my stuff off to some major corporate suspension manufacturing and service center for the entire east coast. I'm not happy but I all I can do is well....not be happy about the time.

Not like the meth but right in my own back yard (which I move away from this weekend...thankfully).

You better start converting...........I got a bag of double-stuffed on it!!!! My new motor not even in the frame yet till after the weekend dirt track race, with untested skunk crank
Will it be smoking because it running right or because it's blowing up between your legs??

FWIW, from talking to a lot of shops last year when I was trying to get my suspension done they informed me that if you don't get stuff in by January, it's in their "busy" season. They recommened I pull everything right after the season and send it in then. That was Pegrams, AFJ Shop, Reuben, and Iron Pony.
Still all seems quite a convenient excuse to me. A knowledgeable suspension guy should be able to strip and service anything in a couple hours. If that same guy could only manage to do 2 sets of forks a day, that's 10 sets of forks serviced in a week. Do all of these guys have 100's of forks waiting to be worked on that all just showed up 2 weeks ago???
Meh....it doesn't matter. Forks and shock will get done when parts arrive and he gets time to finish them.
-
The day you start whipping my ass on a sumo is the day I convert the 1000 over and then I won't have to deal with your ass slowing me down everywhere.
-
Either he's up to his eyeballs in suspension services and super busy and/or it will really take several weeks to get springs...Then put all the stuff together and send it back to me.
Don't know what to think but I'm not happy I'm going to miss 2 rounds, especially Putnam. Oh well, after this service is done everything will be right and I'll just do the forks myself from now on and only send out the shock.
I thought I got my stuff in before the big rush but I'm guessing not now.
-
I'm out for round 1 and probably round 2. I guess 4 weeks isn't enough time to get suspension serviced. Seems that it takes several weeks to get springs and week to get the cap extenders. Oh well, guess I'll just have more time to get the new toy hauler prep'd.

Trust me guys, I have no problem doing things myself, especially the forks. The shock is another matter though. But all things as they are, I would still need to locate and purchase some springs and I know the fork cap extenders require tearing down the stock caps and rebuilding them on the extended ones.
I'm going to keep on him for some kind of eta as he never replied back to my last email.
