  1. Bummer to see Speedsource get the boot, but exciting to see Mazda get serious about winning.
  2. I've been playing around with Flickr. Haven't had a chance to download my stuff from photobucket and then delete everything on their site yet. Hopefully their user base will do that in droves.
  3. if it's any consolation the DE doesn't run the SCCA track but the IMSA configuration so not exactly the same. IRacing does have Indy with the SCCA infield loop but I'm not sure if the back side after turn 10 is the same as what SCCA runs.
  4. It's on Club Registration under MORPCA, but unfortunately has been sold out for some time. MORPCA started hosting the only DE at Indy 2 years ago, but this year it sold out quickly I think due to racers wanting to practice before the runoffs.
  5. Great updates Rich! Glad to see it coming along. Are you going to the PCA DE at Indy in August to practice? I'll be there if so.
  6. Same guy. He drives a Ferrari every day I'm told. You have to admire his love of the vehicles and that he uses them regularly. I got to see the LaFerrari up close in action last year. The car is gorgeous and what you can't hear in the video over the furious sound of brap is how flat out amazing it sounds. He also drove the damm thing home in the rain and didn't give a fuck. He's pretty much what I'd aspire to be like if I hit the mega millions....like twice. Hahahaha.
  7. From their terms of use page under "stuff not to do" Also, don't use Imgur to host image libraries you link to from elsewhere, content for your website, advertising, avatars, or anything else that turns us into your content delivery network
  8. After having my brother painfully walk me through the dumbass procedure to upload photos in the mobile app, I think I'm going with Flickr going forward. Imgur actually says you're not supposed to 3rd party embed photos in their Terms of Service, so I don't want to deal with that crap again. Google photos has a great app and interface, but they also only want to upload every damn photo from your camera on your phone and make it harder to embed/share.
  9. Let's hope these photos work. Bump this up, would like to move it. 10. this has been sold. lock it up please.
  11. See here: http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=127255
  12. Will be at show today rain or shine. It's a tradition.
  13. Checked on eTtailer. Since they're integrated drums/hubs and I have the upgraded EZ lube hubs I'd prefer to not replace since they're $50-$60 each for comparable ones it seems.
  14. Thank you for the suggestions. A-1 trailer doesn't do it or know of anyone that does. Vinny, surprisingly I can't find any shops that turn drums anymore. They all just replace instead. Rick, thanks for the suggestion, I'll check out 614 when I get the drums off.
  15. I have a trailer with electric brakes and integrated drums/hubs. I'm looking at replacing the brakes and doing the hubs/drums would add another $200-$275 to the project. Mine aren't bad or warped that I can tell, but it'd be nice to start fresh and know they're true. Any shops around town that can turn them? Bonus points the closer they are to the Polaris area.
  16. Was looking at Rx7club today and there's just a mashup of missing Images everywhere now. What a crock.
  17. Thanks Chris. Perhaps I'll look into how easy or not it is to do 3rd party linking with Google since that's a lot of what I'm doing with online photos.
  18. I was less than impressed with Imgur's app and functions when I tried it out. It might be great from a desktop but a lot of stuff I'm doing mobile or from an iPad
  19. I've stuck with Photobucket for my images and threads for a while despite the ads and crap because they had a good mobile app and reliable service. Last week they changed their terms of service and now prohibit 3rd party linking of images on all accounts except for their premier account at $400/year!!! FUCK THAT AND FUCK THEM I would have been ok with paying $20-$30/ year for some type of premium account but this shit is extortion. Now all my project threads and FS links are dead. Anyone have a good recommendation for s site to use? My priorities are: 1) good mobile app that's easy to use/manage 2) must be easy and allowed to use 3rd party links I tried setting up an imgur account last year and thought it made it too tough to manage your library and link images. Their mobile app wasn't great either. Worth giving Flickr a try? For those that use Google photos or Amazon photos can you do 3rd party linking? And is it pretty easy to do so?
  20. It's crazy how composed and well balanced these cars are from the factory these days.
  21. Thanks buddy! Of course as I continue to get faster....so does Andy. He made some setup changes to his car this year and they paid off big time. I get into the :35s...he gets into the :33s....it's like chasing a ghost sometimes!
  22. Here are some other takeaways/notes from the first event: • Looking forward I still need to figure out a diff cooling solution as I was able to get it up to 250 degrees on the drain plug at the end of the day Sat. Granted, I ran the car HARD including a 45 min session at one point Sat (almost a full tank of fuel used! Haha), but it also wasn’t super hot, and I think that means I could be asking for trouble again at Indy and Watkins in August. • The car is WAY faster on slicks….faster than I was expecting. Best I was getting on the Nittos were mid-high :39s so even if we exclude the :35s I was able to turn some consistent low :36s on the slicks so on comparable days the slicks were 3.5-ish seconds faster/lap. Perhaps the car is suited to sticky tires and that’s the way it’ll be? I'll find out. the gap will close a bit too as the Nittos get more in their prime. • I think the catch can is about as good as it’s getting. Not sure if the PCV valve connection is really helping or not. I’d like to see if/how much oil is going back to the intake. If some is going in there I may disconnect that line again and see what difference it makes. Other than that, I’m happy that it’s at least easy to remove and dump the can now. If I had the balls to run the oil all the way at the bottom of the dipstick then I wouldn’t have to empty it every session either, but not sure I’m there yet. • Used A LOT of fuel… About 38 gallons each day! • Brake cooling appears to have helped. I’ll measure the pads when I get them off of there, but to my eye it looks like I used as much pad as I did last year in the Fall Mid Ohio event which was less driving for sure, so that’s a good step forward. There was a tradeoff in slightly higher water temps so I just need to keep an eye on that during July. May have to see if I can get some sort of rear scoops for brake ducting or something. • Little power steering cooler appears to have worked well. When I was in the pits and put the thermo on it, it only showed like 150 degrees, so that seems pretty good to me. • Brake M/C cap still leaks and the little sweat bands work to keep it from flinging around the engine bay, but they just become a brake fluid absorbed mess each day. I’ve tried new caps and even different reservoirs (between old/new car) and it doesn’t seem to make a difference. • The rear inside tire is spinning now under heavy cornering. If I’m using curb on the gas it spins like 7, 9, carousel, and especially going into Thunder Valley….like continual up/down RPM from it spinning and hooking. Slightly worried I’ll cord a tire doing that, but not sure on options. Supposedly the 93 rear sway bar was thinner and softer, but nobody has documented by how much. Or do I dare try running no rear bar? Or do I go fully opposite and try stiffer bars front and rear? I honestly didn’t even touch shock settings this past weekend and just wanted to drive and get a feel for the car….it feels VERY MUCH like the old setup..haha. Could be fun to play around with different stuff though. It would be relatively easy to change bar settings during a weekend, but would be difficult to fully change a rear bar during an event….or more just a bigger pain in the butt than I’d want to do. Likely the solution here is to go to a proper clutch-type diff, but I won’t have that in the budget for this season as by the time I get new bearings and what not it’ll end up being like $1,500+. Plus I want to make sure I’m not going to end up cooking the new expensive diff once it goes in. • The car seems to get more loose during sessions…no good reason why other than I must be working the rear tires harder? I bleed them to the same pressures though so they should end up similar pressure/temp. • Rear brakes were squeaking for some damn reason. The rotors are newer so I’d like to think they’re not warped, but who knows. I was getting vibrations thru the pedal but the car never failed to stop and rotor temps stayed even left/right so I don’t think they were hanging up or anything. I think the grease I’m using in the rear is getting sticky though so maybe I can find a better high temp grease.
  23. Yes they align on Saturdays typically, but you'll need to call and schedule an appointment. If you're not looking for a specific tech like I was they should be more flexible with time. My alignment was expensive because I was having all custom specs, while I sat in the car and worked with the tech, so I just paid by time it took to complete. $230 was the final I believe. But it was also exactly the way I wanted it. I've paid less and most certainly gotten less previously.
  24. Thank you sir. I'm alway happy to help but I don't run with SCCA so I'm not sure they'd let me. We can try to hook up at a DE this fall though.
