    Anthony

Shitty to hear. Hopefully he bounces back soon
  2. Yep I know him. Shoot me a PM with contact info and I’ll put you in touch.
  3. Meijer is listed though and pretty close in price usually
  4. Unfortunately not likely a return on investment in my neighborhood. Even if I could build another garage it would take up a lot of the little lawn space I have and that would turn off most potential buyers. #suburban problems. I knew this going into our purchase and accepted it as the home was right for our family otherwise. Thankfully my wife is great and has given up her garage spot for go karts this year. Lol.
  5. I can see value in the idea. I live in the burbs where zoning regulations won’t let me put a decent size building on my property. I’m reasonably close to Powell. The real question is how will the value hold up over time? If I spend $150k building a sweet man cave and storage and it’s still worth $130k-ish in 5-10 years when I want or need to sell it....that’s pretty reasonable and likely less than I’d have to pay to build a garage on my own property. But if it’s worth $75k at the end that value proposition goes out the window.
  6. Have lots of want. Have very little need or time. Good luck with the sale though that’s cool.
  7. Also in for recommendations. Looking to do an expansion this year.
  8. Never thought I’d see the day. Bummer it doesn’t take effect until July 2020 but at least it’s out there.
  9. I figured it was 24 KG/mm which is the metric unit of measure for springs. Still a crazy high rate at about 1350 in/lb but I’m sure Patrick knows these cars well enough to figure it out. Actual ride quality will depend a lot on the motion ratio of the front suspension design too.
  10. “That car” has been updated to a new platform, but has the same overall theme. For a while the guy worked in my office building but I’ve either grown numb to it or he stopped working there. Outside of the LaFerrari I also once shared the track with a Ferrari 333SP. Easily the best sounding car I’ve ever heard. Blew by me on the back straight at Mid Ohio without me needing to lift off the throttle.
  11. When goodguys is in town there’s a vendor there that will custom print you any plate. My buddy got me one as a joke to put on the FD at the track.
  12. I wouldn’t have so much an issue with the gas tax except for the current rediculous price increase for premium fuel everywhere now. Typically the best I can find is $0.60/gallon more than 87. That shit is beyond annoying.
  13. 2004: 1st gen Eagle Talon Tsi (Smokey) and ZX636 2019: family vehicles, FD Rx7, and racing karts. Still the same mindset, still the same screen name, fun car and now karts still both smoke.
  14. Part of my youth died right there. Total bummer.
  15. Damn that’s a killer setup. Too bad I’m actively dumping all my money into go karts at the moment.
  16. I voted no because I always remember during that time period qualifying the Supra, FD, NSX, 3kgt as “Japanese supercars” as if they weren’t meant to compete with the F40 & 959 of that era which in my mind were the true supercars. That was also before the terms of hypercar, etc were being used so “supercars” were the top dogs. The Supra was meant to be a GT car similar to a 550 Maranello which I don’t think anyone was calling a supercar. FD Was meant to be a sports car that’s light and nimble which would compete with a 911 or Vette of the era. Neither were trying to be the king of all production cars like a supercar would. Also, the FD was the best car of that era despite what bloated Supra values would tell you. Any other opinion is wrong.

Doing my best to be on none of them. I have a Linkdin I barely use and nothing else. My only issue is the only way to buy/sell go kart parts is via Facebook it seems. Currently using my wife’s for that. Hahaha
  18. I’ve been looking for an excuse to go this winter so I’m in depending on the day.

I’m of the belief in having separate track and street brake pads. Good track pads make tons of noise and have horrible dust on the street. Street pads can’t handle the heat of the track. I’m also pretty fuckin meh on Carbotech. The upside to them is that they’re really easy on rotors, but sacrifice lots of life for it. Also any time you call them for recommended compounds they tell you too low of a compound and they overheat. Happened to 3 different people I know who tried them. Hawk pads are cheap, readily available, and work great....but hurt rotors. The DTC compounds will crack the shit out of rotors quickly. If you run cheap and readily available rotors that trade off might be worth it.

It s a bit of a basket with the interior and exterior but you should be able to sort the mechanicals and have a fun car for cheap. I still miss mine sometimes they were really fun to drive and very forgiving. Bimmerforums and M3forum are your friend. Pretty much anything you’d want or need to do on the car has been documented with a write up. You should be able to do the head gasket no problem with a couple additional tools. Good luck and keep us posted. Hope to see it getting driven within an inch of its life this coming year.
  21. This thread is of no value to me...except this post which was completely brilliant. I will now unsubscribe.
  22. I’ve committed to scaling back the efforts with the FD to commit to a full season of Karting with the family. The FD needs turbo gaskets, battery relocation and intercooler done. Not sure what else may get done or not. Likely only see a couple Mid Ohio events this year. Karting will mean a newer used chassis for me, upgraded parts for the kiddo (motor build, low weight axle, low weight brakes). New tools for better support, and likely somewhere in the 10-12 race weekend range on top of periodic practice etc. should be quite busy. Already started learning about how to maintain build KT100s and Comer rebuilds for the kid. My wife and I both have dailies that are getting old and high miles. Hers needs replaced first, but the initial plan is to try to keep them truckin as long as possible.

If you have Amazon prime watch the Gymkana Files. It’s behind the scenes of making these videos and pretty entertaining.
