I rode to work this morning... 61 and sunny when I left and could hit 70. Roads were wet but I guess I have the rest of the winter to make sure I clean her back up. I couldnt resist!

When did I ever say this?? I said it was BAD business to be a dick to a regular paying customer over a 2 minutes job. Not once did I tell Putty that he should not go there anymore, nor did I say I wouldnt buy shit there. What I DID say is that this thread and having bad publicity is going to be bad for business. Again I disagree.. so all these companies that send free samples of their products are doing this why? I am sure they know more than you and I about how to sell their shit. And one way to sell their shit is to get the product out their and to create a word-of-mouth buzz about a product or in this case the company itself. Did I mention I have my BSBA in Marketing? I might know a little about what helps a company sell its shit and what doesnt and I guarantee that Putty probably would have been starting the same thread only about how much HNW helped him if things would have gone differently. But that isnt the case So me buying my bike there and spending thousands there for service makes me a non-supporter? I guess because I am not on a forum kissing their asses I am not a supporter. I think I support them plenty and will continue to do so. Already addressed this... and you are a fool if you think any different.

Now you say its "peanuts" but earlier you were talking about all the "free" work that would be done and how much it would cost the company. Make up your mind, either they are a small company who would lose so much because of this free work or they are a huge company who can afford to lose the business. Like I said before, I have no problem with HNW, I bought my bike there and get it serviced there. I just figured they would have done more to help build their relationSHIT with customers.

I think this is what anyone who has been slightly agreeing with Putty has said.. there are just a select few that REALLY like HNW and disagree (I am in between, I like HNW but disagree with this employees way of handling business)

so what you saying is that the $10 that they would have gained through doing the job is more than the money they are going to lose through bad publicity? you cant be serious. as far as the liability of having to replace the part if it is broken is a BS excuse. I have had a few places assist me with stuff without charging and they say right up front, "I can help you but there are no guarantees I wont make the problem worse." If you want that guarantee then pay them for their service.

Although you may not have have stated that you expected it to be done for free.. I think you did. I think I would have kinda expected it as well because it take a couple of minuted to do. The guy probably spends more than that in a day scratching his ass or picking his nose. Why not do something that is going to help the shop? I bought my bike at HNW and will continue to bring my business there but I dont think they are helping their business by nickle and diming people over petty shit.

Yea that is a large amount of lost business.. and the huge Fuck Off thread that is being circulated now is going to cost them how much? Lets do the math.. a bike costs anywhere from $5,000(used) - $20,000(Ducati).. lets just say, on the low side, that 5 people read this thread and agree with him that it was a bullshit move on the part of HNW and dont buy a bike from them.. anywhere from $25,000 - $100,000 of revenue lost.. all that over $10??? You cant tell me that isnt bad business on their part.

I agree with everything but this. It isnt the $10 that is the problem. The point is that EVERY good business that knows that it is going to be something so simple like this should have done it for FREE. They know it isnt going to take hardly any time to do and they would be building good relations with potential customers down the road. The goal of Honda Northwest should be to build relationships with their customers so that they have repeat customers. Somebody dropped the ball on this one. If Ty from Honda Northwest hears about this he should find out who f*cked up and rip him a new one IMO.
